doppler radar. i have some greens there. yountville, and then just north of mill valley, so tracking in showers there for parts of contra costa county, some rain about to move into richmond and also around the antioch area so we'll continue to track that. mike, you're tracking the oakland jam. >> oakland is my jam right now. look, those taillights, everybody has brake lights instead of being the overhead, i see you -- so 580 westbound, much clearer, but there's a bit of rain as kari has been talking about. that roadwork should be clearing up probably just after 5:00. wet roadways with some patch in

bring home troops, anonymous sources at the pentagon confirming reports on plans to pull american troops from afghanistan as well. military leaders are accounting pulling up to half of the 14,000 troops there. so far there's no timetable, but it follows president trump's announcement he's pulling all u.s. force from syria. all of this comes in the wake of yesterday's surprise resignation by defense secretary jim mattis. although the country is watching the touching moment of a mother reuniting with her dying son, this is the latest pictures of that mother. the 2-year-old is on life support at children's hospital in oakland. he has a rare brandy disordin d. his mom needed a visa visit, which was complicated because of the u.s. travel ban on seven countries, including yemen. after contacting the media and making a plea for help, three members of congress wrote

letters asking for a waiver. it was finally granted on tuesday. the mother arrived at sfo wednesday night. a south bay community is protesting president trump's immigration policies. last night there was a rally at the santa clara county building, worried that president trump is trying to deport many of its community's members. an agreement between the u.s. and vietnam in 2008 protects many of them from being deported. however, the administration maintains it does not protect people who are undocumented or those who have committed a crime. >> maybe they made a mistake, under the prior administration this were allow to do stay here, but because of the change of the administration they're going to be looking at these people in a difficult way. >> many locals worry that hundreds will be affected. a warning for pg & e about

good morning. here are today's top business headlines. wall street is set to open slightly higher this morning after another day of selling yesterday. worries about rising interest rates following the fed's rate hike and the possibility of a government shutdown unnerving investors and punishing stocks. shutdowns don't typically do

much damage to the markets, but they can be more harmful the longer it last. the nasdaq dipping briefly into bear market territory, meaning it's dropped 20% from the most recent highs. reports on durable goods, income and spending, consumer sentiment and third quarter gdp. if you're still trying to find that perfect last-minute gift you are certainly not alone. a quarter of americans say they will finish their christmas shops this weekend. 4% say their final gifts won't be bought until after christmas. for those that miss the 25th deadline, plan on taking advantage of post-christmas sales. head on over to subway, the sandwich shopping is giving away child's tickets to "mary poppins returns."

rain falling apart. as we go through the 6:00 to 7:00 hour, we are going to see some of those showers making it into the east bay. there may be a couple showers that make it into the south bay by later this morning. it clears out as we go into the afternoon. after a chance of rain this morning, we will have a very nice day ahead. saturday is looking good as well, but partly and mostly cloudy. by sunday we're going to see another round of rain moving in, but mostly late sunday night, if you're going to be out shopping late sunday evening, there will be some showers moving through that will continue into christmas eve. check out the seven-day forecast, as we look at christmas in the park, kind of mesmerized on the tree. as you get dressed we are going to need a jacket, even one with a hood. also jeans will be comfortable

today as well, maybe with your ugly christmas sweater. as we go into early next week, it doesn't add up to much, maybe about a quarter of an inch of rain. also liking out for king tides this weekend. it's the high tide and extremely low tides as well, and it may cost some localized coastal flooding. we're looking at high temperatures in the upper 50s, low 60s. and then tomorrow as well as sunday we stay dry, but showers early on monday morning. mike, is it still jammed through oakland? >> i'm going to give that camera to change, i did see some changes. this is the san mateo camera. there's not just fog, but mist and drizzle as well.

safety, but also to see if you owe them a second fee. good morning. let's go back to the money first. airlines raked in $4.5i billion in baggage fees last year. they are on track to collect even more this year. often airlines charge another feed if your bag exceeds 50 or 70 pounds, but how reliable are their scales. luckily local inspectors check them from time to time. they hauling in weights to make sure the readout is accurate. how did the big three bay-area airports? all 65 were ruled acreal at oakland. at hohn so say they found just one that failed, it was actually underweighing bags. but sfo, they looked at 333
