it's going to be in the upper 50s. every now and then the sun peeks out but much improved weather for this afternoon. the next storm in the forecast we'll talk about, and mike gets you out the door. >> the roadways may be slick. the index doesn't point out any major problems, there will be slicker roadways. there's a crash 87 on the shoulder. over here eastbound 580 coming off the richmond bridge headed over toward the east shore freeway a crash should be on the shoulder as well. live look between the bay bridge and san mateo bridge, both have wind advisories. back to you. >> this morning, we're drying off from another wet weekend across the bay area. >> take francisco and san working to

clean up from the big weekend just about everywhere. this is a crash that happened on 101 inhillsburg, a car flipped over the guardrail and crashed into a creek. amazingly, the driver wasn't badly hurt. also in the north bay, floodwaters swept through the front yard of a home in san anselmo after a clogged culvert. the homeowner said it happened quickly. >> everything was fine. there is another big culvert down there, and i stepped away for about two minutes, and the n knocked into the little creek there. >> thankfully dry, only the garage was flooded. more problems, a car that slid off of a slick roadway there. luckily, no one was injured in that crash. saying good-bye. this video released l brown and

to release her. >> the woman who was bitten has not spoken to anyone other than police. >> 4:36. a murder/suicide under investigation at half moon bay. it happened saturday night at a home on terrace avenue. san mateo county sheriffs investigators say they got a 911 call about a shooting. later, they found an 86-year-old woman and her 89-year-old husband dead inside the home. gun was also found. investigators believe it was the husband who called and reported the shooting. this morning, berkeley school board president and her wife are in the hospital. judy appel and her wife were crossing mlk when an 81-year-old driver struck them. the driver stayed at the scene on "today in with police. the bay," experiencing the happiest place on earth? >> yes, tell us about

hey, in the sierra, squaw valley yesterday, ski resort sent us this have you had yo. it was open, but they had to close some trails due to the conditions out there, some of the lifts as well. yesterday's storm brought close to two feet of snow in the upper elevations there. >> and all that snow has a lot of traffic out there. traffic around tahoe was a mess there. drivers stuck for hours. this is a snap chat video of some of the backup there near truckee. if you are headed up to the mountains, make sure you bring the chains and extra supplies just in case you get stuck out there. >> there is a portion of 80 that's still closed. >> a huge portion, whiteout conditions. i heard someone who tried an avenue on the mapping device, never again. stick to the roads. >> big time. >> it was too rough on the highway. >> one time i went over the mt. rhodes pass and i thought i'm not going to survive. it's frightening. don't go off the trail.

>> blizzard conditions yesterday. it was a mess. and we have the high wind and rain here in the bay area. now as we take a look at storm ranger, that's our mobile doppler radar, we have it parked on san bruno mountain and our exclusive radar shows light rain across parts of northern marin and sonoma counties, as you get ready to head out this morning. still some spotty, light showers, but the main storm is winding down, and we are going to also still be tracking this rain over the next couple of hours. as you check out the seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen, there is a lot more rain on the way. live look outside in fremont, as you get ready to head out the door on 880, things are starting to dry out, but look at these temperatures, even with the rain, it is still very chilly out there, with some upper 30s in santa rosa, ukiah, elsewhere, we have some upper 40s in fairfield and napa and 52 in palo alto and also in oakland. if you're getting ready to head out the door, we have some

milder weather there, some mostly cloudy skies, as you make your way out b.a.r.t. station. we'll keep the clouds throughout much of the morning and as we look at high temperatures for the south bay, not bad at all. low 60s for morgan hill. 61 in concord today and the peninsula, some sunshine and a slight chance of rain in the north bay throughout the morning but then drying out and we have our next storm set to move in and we could see it's a big one but this is not as strong as the storm that moves in just yesterday as well as saturday. we're still going to be tracking some showers as we go hour by hour throughout the morning, and then we look at some drier conditions for the afternoon, but still some lingering clouds. the north bay still has a chance of rain, even into the evening commute, while the rest of t bay area stays dry and we watch the approach of the next storm system that will be here mostly tomorrow afternoon.

i'll track that for yo seven-da another breezy one as we conditions. thursday is another break before another storm system moves in, in time for the weekend. a lot to sort out this week. you want to make sure you keep checking back in. i'm checking in with mike. the roads are slippery in spots. >> a couple of puddles, as the headlights come through, you can see a couple of puddles approaching the cash lanes, fast track and hov lanes all slick because of the overnight rain kari talked about. no major problems. it doesn't show up as an issue for our road weather index. the only thing that shows up is disabled vehicle east shore around el portal. nothing showed up on our sensors. smooth, easy drive, the crash still on the shoulder, south 85, talking about slicker conditions as well and flooding overnight reported, cleared from the

roadway, as far as the freeways are concerned through san jose and that's a good drive. wind advisory for the bay bridge of the span, just issued by chp. same thing for the san mateo bridge, but steady cameras and no problems reported over the last half hour. back to you. >> thanks, mike. 4:49 right now. new this morning, the chp believe speed played a major factor in a deadly overnight solo crash, it happened before 1:00 a.m. on highway 101 neither monthry road overpass atop of gilroy. the car struck the center divide going northbound. the man in the car died at the scene. the crash did not impact traffic. in vallejo an officer-involved shooting is under investigation. man with a knife washoy an trespassing call. this happened around 8:30 last night near nebraska and napa street. police say the officers tried to detain the suspect but he pulled out a knife. police say they asked him to drop the we pop. the suspect turned on an officer who fired at the suspect. he is now in the hospital in
