closure and you saw the radar activity. kari will talk about the rain as well. wet roadways, north 101 just reopened one lane, just at mckee, a deadly crash involving an overturned box truck now is still in lanes, with the investigation that continues. they're trying to let traffic through, because it's backed up all the way past 680, and in the area, there's another crash northbound 680 at berryessa, again, same area and there was a crash in the middle of the roadway, so you're going over on the far left or the far right, and that's causing more delay out of san jose via 680 as well. that's tough for both of those routes. your alternate 280 over to 87 right now, while traffic is light throughout the south bay. we'll continue to track those changes, but at the scene, bob redell is out there. bob, it's wet and there is this crash. >> reporter: mike, yes, we're seeing the rain come back down right now. we're just north of mckee on northbound 101. the brake lights are headed northbound right now, and this is the backup to that fatal accident that happened about an hour and 15 minutes ago, for a

sanchez joins us with what police are calling an incident of swatting. good morning, kris. >> reporter: good morning. you might have heard of swatting, when somebody calls in a report to police about a crime, and that crime turns out to be a prank or a false report. this is the scene from palo alto daily post, outside that two-bedroom home on emerson street, where this all happened last night. in this case, the caller claimed to be a facebook executive who claimed to have shot and killed his wife. now, palo alto police got the call about 9:15 last night from that man, claiming he shot his wife, tied up his children and planted bombs all over their home. the caller identified himself by name as a facebook executive. again, that turned out not to be true. the caller also threatened to kill anyone who tried to help, whether it was police or fire. it took about an hour for palo alto police to clear that scene and according to "the daily post" at that time, the man at that address, who is a facebook
5:36 am
executive was detained and it turned out to be untrue, someone was impersonating him, there was no shooting. the prank tied up police for about an hour, both police and fire. there have been other incidents of swatting like this. in one case, about a year ago in wichita, it turned deadly as a man went to the front door, where police thought they were responding to a shooting, and a hostage situation. in that case in kansas, it is ongoing but there have been other cases here as well, just none that have turned deadly. in palo alto, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." >> and it's so concerning to take someone that needs actual help, the police force going somewhere else. >> exactly. >> thanks, kris. 5:36. on capitol hill, president trump and lawmakers trying to reach an agreement on border security and re-open the government after this speech.
