the bay." horrific ing right now, one of hit-and-run caught on camera is headed to court this morning. oakland police arrest thad suspect yesterday. you may remember last wednesday a 14-year-old boy was riding his bike near fruitvale b.a.r.t. station when he was hit by a car. the car dragged him four blocks. graphic cell phone video shows him pleading for help while a man and woman drive off in the car. they haven't been arrested but are close to identifying the other person involved. the boy remains in critical condition. it is 4:35 right now. also scheduled to appear in dourt an east bay battalion fire chief used to steal drugs. he's the ems chief of stealing fentannd addictive access to ph bins and drug disposal areas. they also believe he may have been selling the drugsn th

good morning. i'm frank holland at cnbc headquarters. wall street is set to open lower this morning after stocks rose again yesterday. the dow posting its first four-day winning streak since november as minutes from pient in raising interest rates. stocks paired gains in the final hour of trading after the meeting between president trump and democrats over the border wall and government shutdown came to an abrupt end. retail news. sears will have a few more days to consider options. it's chairman and largest shareholder eddie lampert made an offer. it will keep 50,000 employees working. sears will hold an auction for

about the fog in walnut creek you see for your drive. then as we go through 9:00, we'll start to see the sun peeking out. we'll get a lot more sunshine for the afternoon with fairly mild temperatures. as we take take look in san jose, as you get dressed this morning, they are going to have the kichbd jacket start to the day. light long sleeves and pants will keep you comfortable as we once again take is our next sto set to move in by tomorrow. we can start to see some clouds increasing as early as tomorrow morning as we look at our hour by hour outlook. not a whole lot going on. in fact, it looks really nice. as we go into tomorrow, the clouds increase by 9:00. we're looking at mostly cloudy skies tomorrow morning. by tomorrow afternoon, by 3:00 to 4:00 we start to see spotty showers moving in. that may impact some of your friday night plans getting out there as some of the rain continues to roll through.

saturday morning still a chance of showers. them i'll be going through the rest of the day. we'll start to see rain chances go down. right behind that there's another storm system. by sunday rain chances going right back up. we could see rounds of showers early next week or san francisco. today is our only full day rain-free weather. over to mike, you're talking about a traffic break. >> i am. folks over here, you take a look, here you're getting a break, easy drive right now and no major problems although fog has drifted through many parts of south bay, tri-bale and north bay. we'll talk about that in a second. highway 17 just got done with a traffic break towards glenwood drive. the burst of traffic released once again. we have one lane open on the southbound side. there is a crash and they are trying to clear that vehicle through the area. no major injuries reported. we'll track that south through santa cruz. here in contra costa county an

easy flow of traffic. all along highway 4, use that as a caution, antioch, across the bridges, cartenas, convenie. you see the fog and mist has caused the sheen on the road in many parts of the bay. that will be a factor for the early commute but light traffic now. an easy ride on all of these rails. good stuff for the start in case you're taking a ride. back to you. >> thank you, mike. 4:48, a disturbing and rather disgusting encounter caught on camera as a man brings a dead raccoon into a san francisco mcdonald's and sets the bloody animal on the table. >> you can imagine, it horrified customers and employees. "today in the bay" has more details on this bizarre incident. >> i looked and there was a guy with what i thought was a dog at

first. after further examining i seen it was a raccoon. i ran. >> chris brooks ran out of mcdonald's saturday morning and then took this video. an elderly man with a bloody raccoon inside the restaurant. >> it's gross, especially if you don't know if it's alive raccoo. he was asking for help. staff told him to leave. when he did, he left the carcass s the table. d the reaunt was closed immediately after the incident. staff cleaned and sanitized the entire dining room and reopened the restaurant two hours later. the health department visited the restaurant and cleared the restaurant for full operations. mcdonald's was busy with diners. brooks says he won't be eating there again and has some direction for people wanting to find help for wild animals. >> animals control is a block away. why stop here?

you could have went to animal control. >> animal care and control says you can call and a staff member will come and pick up a dead animal. the agency said a staff member did come here to mcdonald's and pick up the carcass for proper disposal. 4:50, a surfers quick thinking may have saved his own life after a shark attack on the central coast. >> amazing. it happened poly student on him, chomped down on his ankle. he probably survived only because he managed to kick that shark away. he believes the shark that attacked him was a great white and 15 feet long. >> the head of the shark was this big. i saw 80% of the body and it was massive. >> with adrenaline pumping, he kicked it in the nose and swam

good morning to you. thursday already. we like to talk friday eve around here, hopeful for the weekend. getting out the door, this is a live look outside on the morning coe >> nbc bay area responds to a woman whose laminate floor didn't it s after a few years. chris chmura andood morning. hk her washing machine broke and flooded her kitchen and laundry room so she had a new laminate floor. two years later linda said it started to swell and what were. it's hard to tell but damages basically right in this region right here and other places. so linda asked the manufacturer mohawk to fix it, because she

said she had at 20 year warranty. after six months of back and forth, she got nowhere so linda turned to us. mohawk told us an inspector found that the floor was just m in davis restoration. underneath. so we called the installer, paul it told us that t w vendors involved herproblem occ a vendor warranty issue, which it intended to settle with the manufacturers. these two were going to go ahead and duke it out. paul davis didn't want to drag linda through that process. it went ahead and sent her a check for $6500 to get a new floor. we applaud linda for trying to utilize her warranty. that is a really good warranty right there. companies bake the cost of those warranties into the price you pay for their products. so if there's ever an issue, take advantage of those benefits you paid for. make sure you keep a copy of the

san jose. it's all clear here. as we head to east san jose to the neighborhood of evergreen, it will be about 46 degrees, mostly clear skies. seeing those temperatures trending to mid-50s by noon. we are sg of concord where visibility dropped to a half of a mile. be careful as you drive to work this morning. we'll talk about what's ahead as the next storm system approaches. mike, you're already tracking a couple of crashes. >> we're here for highway 4. the reason i'm calling them out and a little concerned about it is because of the numbers you just showed. lower visibility. folks, look at this. the map around the bay around all sides of the bay. moving smoothly, visibility okay. the road index show you throughout portions of the north bay and along highway 4 where there are a couple of crashes. one as you leave antioch and head to brentwood. the other around 242 in concord. they are pott on the shoulder. again, fog may make things an issue as far as coming up toward the area. we saw very dense fog coming
