a rare sight that thrilled stargazers last night. although it was tough to catch in the bay area, but this is video from new york and seattle of the super blood wolf moon, a total lunar eclipse, coinciding with last night's super moon. the earth between the sun and moon gave the moon some incredible color there. here it was tough to see, as i mentioned, unless you happened to be watching at the very right time. n nbc bay area biz and tech reporter scott budman managed to tweet this image. nice job. the next total lunar eclipse won't happen until may of 2021. >> i take it he not take that photo with his cell phone. >> no. >> he's a pro. >>s' not far from the observatory. >> that was a beautiful shot. >> i did see some great fuzzy ones though. >> best intentions. >> we tried. >> and it was hard to see, because we had a lot of clouds moving in. we had some rounds of rain
4:46 am
yesterday. now, that storm system is moving out. here is a live look outside in san francisco, and you can still tell that we had a full moon and light from the moon reflecting on those clouds, making it look a little bit brighter out there. seven-day forecast is already up at the bottom of the screen. we're going to talk about king tides, and that's part of that is because of that full moon. the pull of the moon's tides are the moon's gravity are raising the tides along the coast so we'll have some extremely high tides and also some extremely low tides, and at about 10:53 at ocean beach, there may be some low-lying flooding and we' advisory for parts of the inner bay, and other low-lying areas. also tracking on storm ranger a couple of spotty showers moving through and right now, we've got some rain that's moved over toward belmont near 101 and also showers moving along 280, and then also in the santa cruz mountains some heavy rain moving
4:47 am
through some of our higher elevation there is and also on highway 35, so watching that. now, we start out with some cool temperatures behind this system that's moving through in parts of the north bay while still fairly mild in spots like san francisco, where it's 54 degrees. it will continue to cool off for the next couple of hours, so we're going to hold steady in brentwood with some upper 40s in the forecast throughout the morning, and then gradually warming up. so as you're starting out getting dressed this morning, make sure you grab a jacket. we will have some cool and breezy conditions and also pants needed for today. we cannot complain about our cool weather. look at how cold it is for the eastern half of the country and yes, those are high temperatures. they're talking about as. we're going to hace weather goit several days for a holiday today, mostly sunny skies. 58 degrees, and then reaching into the upper 60s by the end of the work week. a lot of sunshine vianey. how is it looking getting out there on the roads? t' i do have some friends that live in new york and boston, and
4:48 am
their pictures are beautiful, but i do not envy how cold it is out there. here you saw kari show us the radar, and there were a couple showers passing along 280, that's compactly what the traffic maps are picking up as well. i have the radar turned on which means you could see some wet roads but most of that is starting to dry out further into the interior valleys, so as that rain moves out, we should be seeing some dry roads. i did just see this crash pop up far down in the south bay, so i'll go check that out, see what that's all about. aside from that, i don't have any accidents, but there are great bridge drive times. westbound 80 toward the bay bridge eight minutes. westbound 82 toward the san mateo bridge 12 minutes and westbound 84 toward the dumbarton bridge about ten minutes, so there are some perks to working on a holiday morning and one of the top ones is no traffic. i'll send it back to you. to a follow-up to a story we brought you as breaking news saturday night at 11:00. solvesomee called it in around0 saturday night. it happened at a home on clyda
