northern new jersey. no suspects have been identified but if caught, drone operators can face criminal penalties and fines. the incident comes just one month after drones stranded thousands of passengers days before christmas. >> looks like serena williams pursuit of a record tying 24th grand slam title will have to wait. the u.s. tennis star was knocked out of the australian open after being defeated by pliskova. serena lead 5-1 in the third set on wednesday. she was one point from victory. one point away when she appeared to turn her ankle on her first match point. pliskova came back winning six straight games to clench a victory. she will now advance to the semifinals against u.s. open champion. 33 days into the government shutdown and another financial blow to workers.

government. this is not one of the bills up for a vote in the senate tomorrow. for the latest on this, let's get over to tracie potts joining us from washington d.c. tracy, good morning. still no signs of compromise? >> no, no compromise here but we are going to see phillip, the first senate votes since this shutdown began 33 days ago. we have two votes coming up tomorrow, one on the president's plan that would exchange protection for a million dreamers and refugees for money for his border wall and then the democrats plan will also get a vote. that was not originally the plan, but they want to reopen government temporarily for a couple of weeks until february 8th and then deal separately with border security. but here's the thing. both sides needher side to get so the bottom line is both of these plans up for a vote tomorrow are expected to fail. >> all that needs to happen is

substitute teachers and administrators with licenses to keep the schools open. >> chris brown has been released from police custody in paris hours aft bn suspicion of rape and drug offenses. according to a source police brought in the 29-year-old singer and two other people citing two police officials ap reported this came after a woman accused brown of raping her in a hotel room last week. brown denies the allegations taking to instagram overnight to call them false. officials confirm brown has been released without charges but the investigation is on going. now brown's attorney says he of america's most prolific writers, russell baker. many knew him from his column in the new york times. he won pulitzer prizes from that column and his childhood growing up in baltimore. he also graced our living rooms on masterpiece theater from 1993 to 2004. he died from complications from a fall at his home in virginia.
