state. police investigating a homicide i am terry mcsweeney. a man was gunned down and tonight we have learned in new details about the violence near a popular hang out of students. marianne favro with the story. >> reporter: the victim was his good friend. and he describes him as a 20-year-old rapper. the shooting happened around 2:00 this morning at a popular taco stand. one man was shot at least one. he was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. >> i basically just heard four shots and i was like, what? and i turned around and i just i seen people running everywhere, so i was like, was that a gun

shots? >> reporter: smokey duran said it wasn't until later that he learned the person shot was his good friend whom he described as a happy guy who was an up and coming rapper. he believes his friend may have been targeted because he was a rapper. there were three other people standing near him when his friend was shot. i talked to several san jose students and some were shaken by the shooting. this is san jose's fourth homicide and no arrests have been made. the federal government is back up for now. now, the clock is down to another possible shutdown next month. chris pallone has the story. >> it feels exciting to go back to work to have a
