santa teresa, temperatures start out chilly with upper 30s and we'll see more clouds going throughout the day. so we'll talk about what's ahead, as that storm arrives, and mike, you have to check on a crash in novato. >> i did. looking at traffic flow around the bay area. speed sensors show a great drive except for that portion of highway 35, remains an issue for that mudslide last week. looking over here toward novato, 101 at 37, the crash was active for the chp report but we called chp, sean, my buddy at the des acti ing and he said everything cleared up. traveling across the north bay from richmond we see the light traffic flow andan rafael bridg is open but they have to do the work a couple weekends from now. back to you. >> thank you very much, mike. developing right now, the storm is rolling in a little bit later but before we get to that -- >> that's right, we have some breaking news out of the east bay this morning, because firefighters are at the scene of a fire. it destroyed a warehouse, and we understand actually a home next

door. it started a little after midnight on walnut avenue off of vieira in antioch. one person suffered minor burns trying to escape the flames. firefighters were hampered because there were no nearby fire hydrants. bob redell is there this morning. he's going to join with us a live report at the top of the hour. that developing story i was telling you about, that storm rolling in later is expected to push up reservoir levels all around the bay area, and we expect to see releases of some of the south bay reservoirs because they're not really fit to fill to 100%. >> "today in the bay's" kris sanchez joins us from the lexington reservoir with a look at some of the lnumbers. kris? >> reporter: well hi there, marcus and laura. we need every single drop in our hot and dry summer months, but when it all comes at a very fast pace at the same time, it can put a little strain on some of our reservoirs. we're at lexington reservoir this morning, the third largest in valley water district's system. the uvas is the one that is

overflowing at this point, even before the rains are rolling in. the thousand oaks campground was evacuated as a precaution about a week or so ago, though the water district says there was no flooding imminent. there was a bridge that was going to make things difficult for passing through. by daylight, folks have been seeing this side sight at vasona reservoirs, water spillage is normal as they try to make room. almaden nearing capacity. here is where the ten reservoirs stand, va sona 95% plus. lexington 74%. stevens creek one of the smaller ones at 80%. almaden one of the small ones is at 89%. so if you see some of those spillways active at the reservoir near where you live, don't be alarmed. they're just trying to make a little bit of room so that when we get this really powerful storm that kari is forecasting

tonight and into tomorrow, there will be room for some of that water to go. at lexington reservoir, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." >> thank you. developing right now, authorities in the central valley hoping the mother of a newborn fndforward. newspa morning. >> i heard the baby crying and screaming. i was like, okay, you know, this is a baby. i got to get out there. >> that's ariella fuentes who found the baby in madeira. it was 30 degrees out. he stayed with the baby until paramedics arrived. the little girl is said to be healthy and at a local hospital. however, the search for that mother continues. continuing coverage of a case surrounding the ghostship warehouse fire. a judge shoots down a legal bid to charge more people. attorneys for almena and

max harris tried to force aor te among the liste managers. while the judge denied yesterday's bid, pointing out she lacked power to charge anyone, she admitted to being intrigued by the motion. proest iters in message to san mateo county supervisors ahead of their study session on the use of tasers, this comes on the heels of four deaths last year tied in part to law enforcement's use of tasers. investigators say okobi assaulted a deputy who responded to reports he was running in and out of traffic. his sister believes deputies went too far. >> we want to see police officers there's accountability when they don't follow procedures. we want to see transparency. >> the tasers are definitely a toolvahae here at the san mateo county sheriff's office. the majority of the time they are safe. >> an outside investigator is

now looking into the case. okobi's family hired notedivil rights attorney john burris. a south bay man shares his story of chasing down a burglar he discovered inside his home. >> he knew something was off the second he walked through the front too. ian cole has the story. >> reporter: nathan steele was returning home from breakfast with his children when he heard a crash in the back, found his window broken and saw a man running from his house. >> ran onto the street here. i looked both ways, and didn't see him that way. i looked down and i saw him running down this path right here. >> reporter: he chased the suspect for several blocks near cole and union avenue saturday morning in san jose. the suspect pushed steele down and tried to punch him. >> he told me "get away from him and don't call the cops" but steele called 911. sheriffs deputies set up a perimeter around the neighborhood. >> follow him and let the police know where to go. my kids went in my head andem. >> reporter: deputies arrested

good morning. i'm frank holland at cnbc global headquarters. here are today's top business headlines. the dow futures up more than 200 points, following the news lawmakers reached a tentative deal to avert another partial government shutdown this weekend but the measure still has to pass the house and the senate, it's still t trump will sign it. yesterday was a mixed day for stocks with the dow posting its first four-day losing streak of the year but the nasdaq rising for a sday. aepj.o.l.t.s. which tracks job listings and how many people voluntarily quitting their job to seek other employment. >> military veterans will soon be able to access their health

in ukiah. and we're also going to start to see more clouds moving in, and then later on today, the rain will be arriving, so we are going to start, see it starting out with some light showers and getting heavier for tonight. so here is the center of the storm, that area of low pressure, you can see the swirl of the clouds. it's drawing in some moisture that's connecting all the way to hawaii, bring us a boost in those rainfall totals, and we'll also bring in some gusty winds, so we will have a high wind watch in effect that starts later on this evening, and that's for the coast and the hills, where those wind speeds will be higher. we will have a wind advisory in the effect for the valleys and a flash flood watch in effect starting tonight, continuing through early thursday morning, and this will have a big impact on tomorrow morning's commute. so today is your day to get out there, and take your time getting to work. you won't have to deal with the rain. we could start to see some of the showers moving into the north bay later on tonight, and getting heavier, a look at the bright reds on the map,

indicating some very intense rain. that continues through tonight, and throughout much of the day tomorrow, and then it starts to become a little bit more scattered, but we will still have some rain moving through, even on thursday. so this, once again, will b winds, and then start to move out by friday, but there will be another system moving in. we will see those temperatures cooling down, as we keep rain chances in the forecast over the next several days. and mike, you were spotting something out there on the roads. >> the something turned to at least the report of a crash, kari but that's the only detail we have from chp. let's look at the roadways. speed sensors moving smoothly. this other crash southbound 880 over at thornton reported just in the last few minutes. both waiting for chp to arrive on those scenes. this crash in oakland south 880 at 23rd. thornton and 23rd for southbound. the nimitz no reports of delays. we track those, the smooth flow

of traffic, the camera in walnut creek right about there as you head south and looking at a smooth drive toward the bay bridge. yesterday we saw a backup at the bay bridge because while we think this may have been because some folks were hitting the road early, they didn't want to deal with the transit lines, remember, b.a.r.t. started the new service start time of 5:00 a.m., so the earlier bird bus service is there. muni, we have ac transit, sam trans combining with a couple other agencies to take off some of the load onto the roadways. we see a few cars hitting the bay bridge toll plaza but not as many as yesterday. we'll track it. guys, back to you. >> thanks so much, mike. continuing coverage, a fire in a eucalyptus grove in san francisco raising concerns. crews had to crime a steep hillside behind ucsf medical center. it looked like the fire started in a homeless camp deep in the woods. people in that neighborhood say things could have been much worse. >> we've all been worried about just this occurrence. thankfully it happened when the

forest was wet. >> neighbors also say they've been complaining about the homeless encampment at ucsf. they say university officials were not sure whose property it was on. happening today, san mateo county supervisors debate a new gun safety measure. that ordinance would require safe storage of firearms and locked containers or disabled with a trigger lock. if supervisors approve it the measure would hold for all unincorporated areas. the meeting gets under way a little bit later this in democratic presidel candidate kamala harris catching a lot of attention for her response when asked if she ever smoked marijuana. >> have you ever smoked? >> i have. >> okay. and i inhale, i did inhale. it was a long time ago, but yes. >> senator harris gave the answer during a morning radio show yesterday. she admitted that she tried pot while attending howard university, when she was asked how she felt about marijuana today, she replied, "it brings

people joy and we need more joy." 4:51 for you right now. new this morning, driver deception. it appears that a scheme to sell fake ride share accounts is widening >> last fall our investigative unit first exposed a black market ploy allowing people to pa background c required by ride share mp sti got behind the wheel. now investigative reporter liz wagner uncovered more people being taken for a ride and why most police departments she says aren't doing anything about it. >> we recently rented two ride share accounts being sold in online chat rooms after we first uncovered the scheme last year. we never drove, but the app history shows in just a few weeks, one of the accounts wracked up more than 200 rides across the bay area. account sharing or driver using someone else's ride share app can be difficult for passengers to detect. airport police are cracking down. take a look at this body cam video from los angeles international, where an officer
