this was their second summit. and right now there are no plans for a third. the president - now returning to the u-s amidst the fallout from yesterday )s explosive accusations by his former personal attorney michael cohen. cohen testified president trump broke the law during his time in office. that included ordering hush money payments to adult film actress stormy daniels - which hee president denies. resident left vietnam .. he addressed cohen )s testimony. in his opening statement -- cohen called the president a racist, a con man and a cheat .. who repeatedly directed him to lie. he also suggested the president knew in advance about the clinton wikileaks disclosures.

a horrific crash is going to impact the commute in the east bay. several lanes of interstate 80

breaking news. we're covering a horrific crash. certainly going to impact the morning commute. several lanes of 880 shut down in emeryville as emergency crews work the scene. >> kris sanchez joining us live from emeryville with the latest. kris. >> hi there. this is a really sad crash. emergency crews are right now removing the van or suv that was stuck under that big rig. the roadway here will reopen within the next 15 to 30 minutes or so. that is theood . of this crash t now is that the driver of the big rig that was hit said he was pulled over on the shoulder, had gotten sleepy and was sleeping in his rig when he felt the impact of someone driving into him it hit the big rig with such force it was stuck underneath. we now know three people died on exact and another has very serious injuries. the investigation into what happened is going to take a

it's still spring likling and me as we head out but as far as the bay area it's out oe the storm still producing some light rain and snow for the sierra. south of the bay we're seeing light rain still moving through. this is a look a the roads may you head out.lking about the st we've had in the north bay since sunday. we always talk about this rain ug i northernounty where we see high rain totals, convenient a venado. 21 inches. overall 12", russian river, naacp and marin counties. looking at our rain totals elsewhere across the bay area with behm lomond in the santa

cruz mountains, decent rain totals, 4.5", richmond 3", san rommon, 1", palo alto close to .5 inch. in san jose .25" of rain. maybe a few peaks of sunshine here and there. our next storm arrives early on saturday morning and continues to bring us some off and on brain throughout the fall. but it crested at 10:30 last night at a little over 45 feet, which is well over flood stage, which is at 32 feet. that's the reason why we're seeing some of those conditions we're seeing now in those areas. all that flooding and evacuations. going into the day today, a mix of sun and clouds. we're also going to see clouds rolling by tomorrow. then by saturday, once again starting early in the morning, that rain will be here off and

on throughout sunday as well. kind of tapering off on sunday into monday. we'll have another potentially very strong atmospheric river moving in next tuesday into wednesday. i'll haveor that. mike, you're tracking that crash near the berkeley curve. >> the deadly crash, kari. three people in a minivan killed happening. now traffic flow moving to the bay bridge unimpeded in that crash, we'll follow that in the newsroom. it happened aboe 1 morning. looking at the curve itself moving at speed. down in the south bay take you to el camino ino real. that's technically highway 82 traveling over 85. mountain view, sunnyvale border, where i grew up. right now it's in the dark, a power issue there. power including the el camino n

to a follow-up, the race for north carolina's congressional seat now faces criminal charges. he's in jail facing charges of illegal ballot handling and conspiracy. fourrkg fore him were also charged. this stems from their handling in the absentee 2018 republican prim ear in north carolina. well, a man suspected of murder in danville shoots and kills himself in illinois. detectives say 51-year-old mark sippian murdered john moore sun. he drove to his parents house where ps he shot himself. he dated their daughter. they filed a restraining order accusing him of stalking and domestic violence. p public defender jeff adachi who died last night.

hundreds gathered for a vigil and marched to city hall. he was the only elected public defender. he stunned co-workers who praised him for tenacity and assistance. >> i knew jeff 28 years. in that time i never saw him ba police have ruled out foul play in adachi's death. it's believed he died fattack. a special meeting to discuss what to do when it comes to parking your car in berkeley. last year they forced 20 rv residents off a stretch of marina boulevard. they will change codes that will further limit rv parking. they will talk about developing an online permit parking summit. they will consider creating more resources for people who live in rvs. tonight the comedy "brooklyn nine-nine" takes on #metoo. >> we got to talk to two stars
