in just a matter of hours, governor newsom is set to announce plans to eliminate the death penalty pete has more. >> reporter: a major announcement causing a lot of reaction on both sides, including from president donald trump who tweeted out his reaction. he says, quote -- diving into the details of this executive action, it's calling for a moratorium for all individuals on death row. this will essential provide a reprieve for 640 inmates here at san quentin. it also withdraws the lethal

that plane arrived at sfo about two hours ago. you probably have been hearing a lot about the jetliners there. they have actually crashed overseas, toby tie's bob redell is live at sfo right now with what passengers said and the pressure of the faa is still resisting this morning. bob? >> reporter: marcus, to be frank with you, a couple passengers we spoke with frankly weren't even aware of the issue, the issue, of course, is the crash that took place this weekend and last fall in indonesia. the faa is still insisting that the max 8 and max 9 are safe to fly, in spite of the fact that the european union has grounded the marks 8 and 9, along with other countrieses. they're doing this until the
