a lot of the heavier rain targeting san francisco and areas to the soth. we see a lot of yellows and reds indicating heavier rain. where it is red is pretty much everywhere. south of the golden gate bridge is where we will have to deal with the slicker conditions. the rest of the day the rain becomes more scattered and lighter going into the afternoon. this is mostly a morning event that will continue. another storm is behind has. i'll talk ell you more coming u. and mike, you already have a crash on the bay bridge? >> on the bay bridge. very slowly moving over towards the oakland side. coming out of the treasure island tunnel, you have to hit your brakes. it looks like they have a big ris rig involved in this crash. this is a problem for the next

multiple police unions across the state filed a lawsuit over a new law. it's around what records they need to disclose and more. the san jose police deputy chief says they are waiting to see the outcome in the courts. today the federal trial surrounding the most widely used weed killer in the world continues. a jury found that round-up can cause cancer, and it happened to a north bay man. he used the weed killer on his property for nearly three decades. he started getting treatment forevfor cancer in 2015. experts say this case could change things for many p >> there is not just this case thousands of cases. monsanto the maker of round-up says they are disappointed with the jury's decision. last year a san francisco man used money sa used -- sued monsanto in state court. he was awarded 3$300 million,

you can see the rain on the roads. as you're about to head out the. in the low 50s. there may be some breaks in the rain, we'll still see some chilly temperatures compared to what we've had recently. live look outside in san francisco, the cloudy skies. as you head out the door once again, make sure you have the umbrella, also a coat because it will be much cooler over the next several days. going into the day and the afternoon, scattered showers that we've seen focused in the south bay, kind of moving further to the north later on this morning. then becoming more scattered going throughout the day. hit or miss rain, then not as much going through the rest of the day. a lot of it will be focused on this morning, looking dry into early saturday morning. the rain that we'll see now bring us less than a half ink ch of rain.

most spots a quarter inch of rain, then more busy weather heading into week. another storm system coming in, the possibility of tracking some very heavy rain going into next tuesday and wednesday. more updates on that. mike, you're tracking the rain in san jose? >> happy spring. the blurry look. that rain is coming down. folks might have gotten relaxed over the last week. make sure those windshield wipers are in good shape. you see that blue, highlighting here puddling and ponding likely. a disabled vehicle in the area of our camera. we don't see it blocking lanes. a crash north 87 blocking the slow lane. no slowing there because traffic is light. there's a big crash here, north to camden and kurtner. i saw a bit slowing north of 85.

we'll keep tracking that. an overturned pickup blocking two lanes, possibly three in the area. that might leave one open traveling north but not seeing slowing on the sensors. we see the blue, puddling and ponding where there is blue. the bay bridge, the westbound direction is slow. eastbound crash is cleared. westbound accident is slowly clearing. all lanes are starting to move once again. back to you. >> thank you very much. new details this morning following the death of an east bay high school graduate. according to the chronicle, ryan abelli had a blood alcohol level of nearly four times the legal limit at the time of his death. he attended de la salle high school. he died after falling down the stairs in 2017. last week a lawsuit brought on by his parents against the fraternity was settled out of

court. the giants season begins next week, there's still no word if larry baer will return to the team. the san francisco district's attorney's office says the evidence does not support criminal charges against him. the physical argument between baer and his wife pam caught on video, this is by tmz sports earlier this month, that led to an investigation. the executive director of the san francisco domestic abuse shelter says it doesn't have to be criminal to be wrong. she and other advocates sent a letter to major league baseball yesterday urging the organization to discipline baer for violating the league's anti-violence policies. >> how do you go out on strike out violence day and talk about, you know, ending violence against women and children and be the leader if you don't live by that? >> baer's attorney saying the d.a. made the right choice. there will be new protected bike lanes in san francisco.

they're actually going to go up along howard street between 3rd and 6th. the decision comes after a rally yesterday demanding more of those bike lanes. a woman was hit and killed by a truck along howard street earlier this month. less than 100 feet away there was a protected bike lane that might have saved her life. you may have to slow down if you drive through san francisco. this is according to the examiner. the city supervisor is leading a drive to reduce speed limits along some city streets. the board of supervisor's president also wants to install safety lighting. previous attempts to lower speed limits have run into obstacles. state law says the cities can only make adjustments after a study that proves that 85% of traffic is on the street going higher or lower than the existing speed. additional license plate readers in contra costa county getting the green light. the board of supervisors agreed

sears. that's where she bought the dishwasher, with service plan. silvia says the store canceled several service calls over the past several months, so she decided to call us for help. we reached out to sears. the store called silvia and picked her dishwasher as part of her service plan. sears corporate indicated it was unaware of the cancellations. it told us our member services team resolved the situation by completing repairs soon after we were apprised of the delay. silvia told us it's only because of nbc bay area that her dishwasher now works. you might be tempted to pay extra for an extended warranty on a new appliance but first two homework. two things, first check t figure out how long it lasts and what's covered. second, see if your credit card
