sensors and i'll check out this crash that appeared in the south bay. in castro valley out of the area from redwood road, hitting the brakes toward a crash at the castro valley y. only your left lane open getting on to northbound 238. a big rig is involved there as well and that will take some time to clear, been there since before 4:00. this is over a half hour now, slowing again for redwood road, down toward "a" street is an option. it's a major surface street but things are light. we'll track that as the commute builds. through contra costa county, everything is fine. back to you. a pittsburg woman accused of killing her husband is expected to face a judge this afternoon. she is going to court for a plea hearing. paul schatzwell died following last week's shooting. he worked as a principal at a pittsburg adult education center. police say the gun was recovered at the couple's home. >> 4:31. one vallejo family believes police went too far making an

arrest they captured on video, happened at the end of january, when a plain clothed offer arrested 18-year-old carlos yescas. the video scholes the officer reaching through the window to make the arrest. yescas says he was in a parked new car with paper plates. he says an officer walked up to him from an unmarked car saying he made some moving violations. >> the first thing he said to me is like, you know you're [ muted ], right? in my mind, he's not an officer. i don't know who this man is. >> vallejo police have been accused of excessive force in several recent cases. the department never gave us a response regarding this video. so far, there's been no official comment. we're hearing more from the family of the east oakland 4-year-old boy who shot himself in the head. they say nevan jackson remains in critical condition this morning, after undergoing surgery. investigators say that boy found the unlocked gun under a bed wednesday. >> they did operate on him on yesterday, and they did tell us

that he will be heavily sedated and that as the days go by they'll gradually take him off the medication and see at that point how he responds. we do not know at this time whether he will be comatose. we know he's critical and asking everybody to keep my family and grandson in your brprayers. >> the gun belongs to terrance wilson, the boyfriend of the boy's mother. they say they did not know the gun was in the room. police arrested wilson yesterday. now to a frightening moment in the south bay, a woman says a man broke into her home and sexually assaulted her. this morning, richard hernandez is in jail. police say it happened on ironwood drive mere almaden expressway near the willow glen neighborhood of san jose. neighbors are on edge since the murder of another san jose woman just a month ago. they're not taking any chances. >> since the bambi larson situation, we have taken increased security measures and some of the neighbors have, too. >> reporter: what have you done?

>> well, we have gotten braces on the front door, side door and patio door and we're not done. >> police believe the attack was random. neighbors said they had a problem with homeless wandering into their neighborhood and now asking police to step up patrols in that area. >> 4:34. another violent incident near a b.a.r.t. station as well, this time a woman was shot last night. >> "today in the bay's" pete suratos joins us live this morning. what can you tell us, pete? >> reporter: good morning to you, laura and marcus. the latest incident taking place at the west oakland b.a.r.t. station overnight. we got footage from the scene that is just coming into our newsroom. it took place roughly around 10:30 p.m. there was an adult female victim who was shot and that incident shut down the west oakland b.a.r.t. station for close to an hour. police are looking for a suspect in all of this. the shooting, the purpose of

that shooting the motive that is, is still unknown. this follows two other incidents at b.a.r.t. stations i reported on earlier this week. let's pull up a map to show you where the incidents took place. on monday a robbery incident taking place in orinda roughly around 11:00 p.m., a male suspect was eventually arrested at the macarthur station after trying to get away on a san francisco-bound train and in san francisco another woman attacked this time on a train headed to sfo. that happened before 10:00 p.m. police say a man hitting a woman in the head with an object and walking away. the woman appears to be okay. there's no suspect description in the west oakland incident as police are looking at surveillance footage. reporting live, pete suratos for "today in the bay." >> thanks for the latest there, pete. happening today in san francisco, neighbors in the filmore district plan to express their outrage following a deadly shooting that killed one person, injuring five others, this happened last saturday. neighbors say that shooting is putting the future of a newly

revitalized community center in jeopardy. the filmore heritage center is canceling all events at least through the end of the month, in response to the violence. the group is planning a walk and press conference this afternoon. this one is not a walk-out, it's a walk-in. parents, students and members of the community plan to walk into every fremont school building as a show of support for teachers. this comes as a group says the teachers union is at an impasse with the district over contract negotiations. they say the district is receiving extra funding from the state, including more money for the cost of living. right now, teachers are working without a contract for this school year. "today in the bay's" bob redell will join us with a live report coming up at 5:45. it could be a headache if you commute this weekend, and you take it through the downtown san francisco area. two lanes of eastbound i-80 off-ramp to fourth and bryant streets are closing, starting at 7:00 this morning. that closure is in place until

good morning. i'm frank holland at cnbc global headquarters. here are today's top business headlines. wall street is set for a higher open. yesterday stocks rose as the trade talks between the u.s. and china resul. the s&p index is on track for its best performance in a first quarter since 1998, up more than 12%. on today's watch list reports on personal income and spending, manufacturing and consumer sentiment. wells fargo teo tim sloan is stepping down. the bank is criticized for its efforts to recover from a scandal in 2016 over millions of fake customer accounts. sloan took over as ceo that year. he claimed we no knowledge of the bank's bad practices. he's also come under fire from congress. senator elizabeth warren called for him to be replaced and in

february the government restricted wells fargo growth plans setting a breakdown in compliance and widespread abuses. ipo news, lyft hopes to get a big lift when it makes its stock market debut. it has the high end of the forecast valued at more than $20 billion. lyft launched its app in 2012 and now controls about 40% of the u.s. market right behind uber, but it's yet to turn a profit. lyft will start trading on the nasdaq later this morning. those are your cnbc business headlines. back over to you. >> i think 72 or 73 bucks. thank you, frank. 4:41 right now. as you might expect, all of these new ipos have an impact on home prices in the bay area. new numbers say the median price for a condo about $770,000, that's up more than 5% from january. experts say sales of homes slowing down, however, and buyers and sellers wait to see what impact ipos will have on the local real estate market.

lle good morning to you. 4:45, with this live look from our camera from emeryville. look at that, bay bridge, beautiful! and you know why it's so beautiful? >> why? because it's friday? >> hello! welcome to friday, everyone. >> oh, we all need a friday, weekend's coming, and gorgeous weather. >> it's going to be really nice this weekend, highs in the 70s, and sunshine. i don't think it gets any better than that. so here we are, starting out with some nice clear conditions, another look at san francisco, a little bit closer, if you'll be in the city. it's going to be all clear. we've seen a little mist and

drizzle in some areas but that's also starting to clear out. our temperatures are cooler, with napa now at 43 degrees. it is 47 in san francisco, and 48 in san jose. 47 now in livermore, as we head over toward concord, check out our temperature trend for today, we'll be at about 46 degrees, as you step out the door, then seeing the temperatures gradually warming up, under all of that sunshine, we'll be at 58 degrees at 11:00 and continuing to go up from there. in the south bay, we're going to see the high at about 64 degrees, that's just slightly cooler than normal for this time of year, but we know there is a big warmup headed our way. vallejo reaches 63 with hayward seeing a high of 66, san mateo looking at a high of 63, and 58 in the outer sunset, while the mission district is up to 63, and also 63 in santa rosa today. as you check out that seven-day forecast, at the bottom of the screen, looks nice for the weekend, and there's still some rain to the north of us, but that is exactly where it will stay, as that weather system

moves away. we are going to continue on with some dry weather, as we go into the rest of the weekend, mostly sunny skies. there will be a few more clouds moving in by sunday, but still, looks like it will be dry, and then by next week, we'll be tracking a new storm system moving in, bringing us more clouds, and also some scattered showers, but check out those 70s for the inland valleys. 70 to 73 degrees and then as we go into the new week, as those clouds move in, the rain comes back, temperatures come back down, so we better enjoy the weekend, because our dry weather doesn't last that long. and mike, now you have a traffic alert? >> same crash but officially a traffic alert from chp. what that means is the major impact over here coming out of castro valley as we look at the sensors for the rest of the bay, a smooth drive. they don't know how long it will take to clear this big rig, along with the hydraulic fluid that spilled, along with a little fuel that's right there at the castro valley "y." you're jammed up before you get to redwood road. exit the freeway toward "a"

spirits in livermore. the alameda county health department said someone with measles ate there. the health department wants to hear from more people who were at the restaurant between 8:00 and 11:00 p.m. on saturday. they're actually at a high risk of infection. >> we are going to evaluate them to see if they may benefit from a medication that can help prevent measles infection. now, it's only effective if it's given within six days of when the exposure occurred. >> that's why the clock is ticking on the treatment. the restaurant posted information about the possible measles exposure on its facebook page and we've been telling you this week about measles exposure after an international traveler with the virus visited the bay area. that person stopped at 20 different restaurants and stores between the 13th and the 23rd. governor gavin newsom is planning to take a trip to el
