it will be another one of those muggy afternoons where the temperatures manage to climb into the upper 60s.he next let's check traffic with mike. we are looking at green all over. rain having traveled through or coming through cupertino, santa clara, san jose. no major problems. watch the slick roadways. oakland, that is the concentration for the slowing. we have that crew locking three lanes southbound at 23rd for that overhead sign work in that same area around 29. in the construction zone we have a crash reported. a lot of slowing. guy south of ring lanes now.t the bay brback to you. the ship trial starts in connection withnocent. back in 2016. 36 people died in that tragedy "today in the bay" joining us live with how we got to this

point. pete? >> reporter: good morning, marcus and laura.d a lf years lr the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire, the trial will begin in a few short hours. i want to touch on the timeline of events we were talking about two and a half years leading up to this moment. the ghost ship warehouse fire taking place in december 2016. the fire taking place in a fire resulting in the deaths of 36 people. derrick al men narcotics the warehouse tenant and the creative director max harris charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter when it comes to the ghost ship warehouse fire. authorities claiming almena rented it illegally. and harris hdg almena ane-year sentence and another judge rejected that almt full responsibility or remorse for the deadly fire.

two weeks ago, lawyers tried to get the case dismissed again arguing charges should be dismissed claiming exonerating evidence were lost under the watch of prosecutors. the judge denied the motion in that as well. the trial is expected to be lengthy. it could be 12 to 18 weeks. pete suratos for "today in the bay". >> thank you, pete. a berkeley engineer due in court. he is charged with a plot to.a co-workers. >> he docto chemical. >> these cou34-year-old david chu. before now he was known as a respected engineer at berkeley engineering and research incorporated. he is behind bars facing attempted murder charges, accused of poisoning a co-worker by putting a toxic metal in her food and water on a number of occasions for over a year. his lafayette neighbors say they

good morning. i'm frank holland from cnbc headquarters. wall street is set to open slightly lower following yesterday's big rally. stocks surged to the start of the second quarter. the dow up more than 300 points. investors are reacting to strong manufacturing data out of the u.s. and china. on today's watch list, reports are durable goods and auto sales. . boeing plans to submit a software fix for its grounded 737 max planes. that is later than it previously said. more than 300 jets have been grounded following two recent crashes in three months.

you were driving. then it would stop. that is what we are expecting for today. temperatures will climb into the 60s. 62 for gilroy. 64 for san jose. in the east bay, mid-60s. concord, 65. it will remain khroutdy along th let's take a look at the hour by north bay, sonoma, 61. hour outlook. spotty chance will remain through the afternoon. then it picks up and becomes more aligned around 2:00, 3:00 this afternoon. even then the rain will still be light. it will be more organized in terms of rain pushing down through palo alto and the south basement we will catch this line of showers pushing through. look how disorganized. spotty into wednesday. by wednesday afternoon, the rain tapers off. spotty chance again. thursday night into friday, that's what we're tracking our stronger storm system expecting

for you. this one hits close to home here at nbc bay area. 4:54. robocalls for you. this one hits close to home. a warning that an i.d. thief is spoofing our phone number. >> a san francisco man alerted us that he got a phone call from nbc bay area. peter smith snapped a photo of the caller i.d. right here. it said kntv and ksds. but the phone call was not from us. he said the other person claimed to be from medicare and asked for his social security number to get him a new medicare number. that's a known scam. preying on the fact that new medicare cards are going out in the mail right now. the feds have warned us about this fraud. we have talkebout it right here. i can assure you that we did not and we will not call anyone and ask for personal information like this. these robocallers hid their identity and their real phone
