fire. you see how massive it is. as you see the firefighters walking in the foreground. another fire happened last night in the port of stockton. that one a three-alarm fire. it could be seen in pittsburg and antioch. right now the winds are out of the south. so a lot of the smoke could be moving into the bay area. live pictures right now. and you can see that the fire is still erroring. it is a pallet fire. lots of fuel for the fire to burn. we do know a lot of fire companies are there on the scene. we'll continue to follow it for you. marcus. 5:02. a story making national headlights this morning. a woman accusing a former golden state warrior coach of sexual assault. he left the team in 2016. the alleged incident happened around that time. "today in the bay" bob redell outside oracle arena. are we hearing a statement or

anything this morning? >> reporter: correct. luke walton, former assistant coach of the golden state warriors, marcus, did issue a statement last night that reads in part that these allegations of sexual assault against him are baseless and that his accuser will be proven wrong in the court of law. the woman who is accusing him of sexual assault is a sports reporter. she is suing walton. you'll recall he used to be head coach of the l.a. lakers as well. he just got the head coaching job for the sacramento kings. while he was an assistant coach for the warriors, he sexual assaulted her at casa del mar when the warriors were in town to play the lakers at the time. walton asked her to come meet him in his room to discuss write part of her upcoming book. when she arrived, the suit claims he forced himself on her. she allegedly screamed for him to stop and get away.

according to the suit, he eventually let her leave the room. last night sports fans said they want to know more before jumping to conclusions. >> i think it's wrong. but i want the truth. and i don't want to accuse anybody until the truth is out. >> you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. and if something comes out that says otherwise, then you change your opinion at that time. but right now, who knows? >> reporter: the warriors put out a statement that reads, we became aware of the alleged incident and story this evening and are in the process of seeking more information. we have no comment at this time. and the kings said, we are aware of the report and are gathering additional information. we have no further comment at this time. she and her attorney plan to hold a news conference later today in beverly hills. reporting live in oakland, bob redell, "today in the bay". all right. now to capitol hill where democrats are divided over whether to try to impeach president trump for obstruction

into the investigation into russia and interfering in our presidential election. senator kamala harris says he should be removed from office for those offenses. harris, who is making a 2020 bid, spoke at a townhall moderated by cnn. >> i think we have very good reason to believe there is an investigation that has been conducted which has produced evidence that this president and his administration engaged in obstruction of justice. i believe congress should take the steps towards impeachment. >> elizabeth warren, also running for president, said the very same thing. >> reporter: it's a house divided. some democrats think there is already enough evidence to impeach president trump on obstruction of justice. >> are you worried about impeachment, mr. president? >> not even a little bit. >> reporter: others insist it is futile because republicans in charge of the senate would never find him guilty.

new numbers show the amount owed has tripled in the last 15 years. about 735,000 people in the bay area owe nearly $27 billion in student loan debt as of last year, according to a new study which also finds bay area borrowers are having more trouble making their loan payments. it comes one day after 2020 presidential candidate elizabeth warren aimed at reducing student loan debt. the elephant seal that has been pholting on tmolting on th kwaquatic park. he was moved to ann animal centr because so many people were showing up to take pictures and it was stressing him out. he found somewhere nice and safe to go. >> we will probably see a lot of folks headed to the beach. half moon bay will be the only

three lawsuits have been filed against doctor george tyndall---a former gynecologist at u-s-c. the suits claim he sexually abused countless girls at the university. raisman and the victims are backing a new state law. if passed, it would allow more alleged victims of sex raisman and the victims are backing a new state law which, if passed, would allow more alleged victims of sexual assault to sue by extending the statute of limitations. actor jussie smollett, according to a spokesperson cook county state attorney kim foxx has received multiple racially charged threats to her personal safety. the threats come a week after a series of texts and documents show foxx worried her office was overcharging the "empire" star.

>> reporter: that is san francisco mayor london breed trying to calm down residents during a community meeting that took place earlier this month on this issue of homelessness. the san francisco port commission will have a big vote moving forward later today. but i want to give our viewers a big breakdown of this proposed site. this would be a navigation center built at the seawall near oracle park. it will serve 200 clients. when it opens, the number will be roughly 130. it falls in line with the mayor's plan to open 1,000 shelter beds in the city by the end of 2020. the debate has been heated. those opposed to it living in the rincon hill area of san francisco claim they are getting death threats over their position. here's what both sides had to say during the contentious area. >> it is halfway between a

transferred out of the jail. this morning a man is being charged with secretly filming up a little girl's skirt at a walnut creek apple store. police say gentleman jacques bloxom taped a camera to his shoe. the girl's father spotted him filming under the little girl's skirt on sunday. when he confronted the man, he took off running. a woman chased him into a parking garage and pointed him out to police before he could get away. >> the camera matched the description of what the dad had seen. and we also found other recording devices and we're still going through all of that. >> bloxom is out on bail and they are actively investigating this case. >> the owner of sweet gelato in little saigon took this video as he says the driver of a car stole a computer out of his own hands and just took off. there has been a recent spring of robberies and car break-ins

increase fire protections and plan for evacuations. lawmakers say the measure is needed after last year's deadly campfire in butte county. the woman here in this video is now behind bars after throwing brand-new born puppies into that dumpster. surveillance video shows it happening in coachella last thursday. the woman holding a plastic bag. there were seven little tiny puppies inside. she put the bag into the dumpster in 90-degree heat. fortunately good samaritans came to the rescue after the homeless man heard the puppies crying. they are being bottle fed at a foster home. all seven are said to be okay. the woman's fate, though, is still unclear. 5:46. today is the deadline day for president trump's taxes. scott mcgrew, the irs has to reveal the tax futures to congress. >> that's what the law says, kris. good morning. the law says certain people request an american' tax return,

the irs has to turn it over. one of those people with the power is the house oversight committee chairman elijah cummings. he has given the irs until today to provide trump's tax returns. president trump, meanwhile, sued to stoeupt, claiming congress only has the power to subpoena tax returns if it's related to writing a law, not for investigation. now, what happens if the courts don't rule by the end of today or rule against him and the trump-controlled irs still doesn't turn them over? do the democrats do anything? this is the heart of the debate among democrats. at what point do you say enough and initiate impeachment. nancy pelosi made it clear she is not there yet, sending a letter to fellow democrats saying congress should continue to seven for facts but calfalls short of calling for impeachment. kamala harris said it is time to put the president on trial. president trump tweeting a lot.
