plan to hold a news conference to discuss isaiah people, a sunnyvale man who allegedly hit eight people here at thiser section. police say that he has admitted to intentionally driving that car into a crowd of people. >> that they don't believe it was an act of terrorism, that this might be connected to the ptsd he suffered from his tour of duty in iraq. a sunnysail girl suffered the most serious injuries. is currently in critical condition. two victims were treated and released at the scene. you are looking at the 15-year-old miguel, he tells us he had no time to get out of the way as the car plowed into the intersection here. witnesses say at 60 miles an hour, knocking them off their bicycles, sending pedestrians into the air. he accompanied one victim who

had thoughts of dying. >> he asked me, am i going to be okay? i told him, of course, you're going to be okay. but don't move, because if you move, you are going to make it worse. >> reporter: witnesses say that as people took him into custody, he was saying things like thank you, jesus. according to pentagon, he served in the u.s. army, deployed to iraq in june of 2005 to may of twoivenlths he was discharged as a sergeant. his brother says he was treated for ptsz back in 2014 and actually spent time in the hospital for that. he is being charged with eight counts of attempted murder. he is in jail in san jose. his first court appearance could be as soon as this afternoon. again that 10:30 a.m. news conference with sunnyvale police. we will be streaming that live. in sunnyvale, bob riddell, ""today in the bay."" >> thank you so much. our coverage continues on our

children who attend burton elementary. >> my daughter cried. she thought it was very scary so i'm sure there were other kids that thought it was scary as well. >> it is scary. it's a little child. it could be your child easily. >> reporter: parents are pointing to this recent situation in vacaville that was caught on under surveillance video. here you can see a man slowly driving up behind young girl. she was sensing danger, hiding behind a truck. she kept her distance, running away. tonight, lafayette police want to know if anyone saw the student running from a suspicious dark colored suv on tuesday between 2:30 and 3:00. they are also looking for under surveillance video. the school principal is urging parents to talk to their children. in lafayette, bay area news. 4:36. a million there are mistake. the ecofriendly path way that winds through the rooftop park is already being replaced.

in redwood city, expect a high of 80 degrees, up to 68 in the mission district. north bay up to 81 in santa rosa. as you get dressed, you might want to grab a jacket to start. the rest of the day is tee shirts and shorts kind of weather as we continue on with our summer-like temperatures. it's been warm, well above average. we've had very dry conditions. we can see there is not a cloud anywhere until you head well to the west of us. it's because we had this area of high pressure that's blocked them from moving in. >> that will be shifting inland. we will start to see changes that will bring in cooler temperatures and a slight chance of rain. we will not see that until late sunday into monday. we are stuck with mid-80s. if you enjoy it, you will have

several more days of hot weather. i think next week will be much more comfortable. highs in the low 70s. we head into the end of april. we are still in with temperatures running 15 to 20 degrees above where we should be, heading over to mike, you are headed to the east bay. >> i am, kari is talking about the euphemism of us whining about the temperatures. over here the bay bridge, we have no whining. it's actually early for the lanes early there. getting away from the bridge, eastbound, 24, gateway, a crash involving two big rigs, everything is off to the shoulder. no slowing there away from the bay bridge. on the peninsula side, we're looking at southbound 101. a few minutes ago, that's where we see the sensors. >> that activity off the
