we will eventually reach near 70 degrees today. as we head over to mike, we have been watching for a traffic break. >> i was watching as it happened. traffic stopped completely at university avenue. it started moving the last five minutes. travel slowly past the embarcadero. speeds starting to recover. another run for traffic or a break as they clear overnight crews at willow or north of there. it only sticks around for 30 to 60 seconds. but it feels like a lot of time if you're rushing around for work. everything else is moving smoothly. one incident at main and southbound 680. for now, back to you. >> perfect. we will check back with you. the family of the man accused of multiple attacks. >> it was all part of an fbi

sting. federal prosecutors say domingo converted to islam. his family is asking for privacy in the wake of his arrest. the man accused of aittackig a san diego synagogue is due in court this morning. he killed a woman and shot three other people saturday. police say he shot synagogue's members with a semiautomatic rifle. he posted an anti-muslin letter online minutes before the attack. he was inspired by attacks in new zealand and pittsburgh. san francisco is showing its love for its sister city with a world class to honor the sister city. >> thousands of people showed up to help. ♪

hospital, and the chapter referred the issue to the university and the authorities for thorough investigation. a new reward to help a san francisco cold case at the time known for being lost in the shadows of a high-profile laci peterson murder. now they are offering a $100,000 award. evelyn hernandez. parts of her body were found in a suitcase in the bay. her 5-year-old son alex has never been found. leaders talk about bringing safe drinking water to all campuses. the district's problems first came to light in 2017. elevated lead levels were found in water fountains at mcclymonds high school. leaders worked on repairing the problem systems and installed

been practicing. we will act like he hasn't. >> i just warmed up a little bit this morning. >> right. i can say that because i know he's not watching. >> we'll have beautiful weather. a little cool, though, at oracle park. this is a live look outside at san francisco starting out the day mostly clear skies. fog rolling by closer to sun rise. temperatures in the mid-50s. we will step out the door to temperatures in oakland, antioch at 57 degrees. now at 54 in napa and fairfield. 53 in palo alto. the seven-day forecast is up at the bottom of the screen. we check out our temperature trend in martinez, mid-50s to start out. 58 at 9:00. and then reaching into the mid-60s by noon time. so perfect temperatures to get outside. the south bay, we will see the high in east san jose, 72 degrees. 69 in morgan hill. upper 60s and low 70s for much

of the east bay. pittsburg reaching 70 degrees. 65 in san mateo. in san francisco, some upper 50s and lower 60s there. nice and cool and brisk westerly winds picking up at 15 miles per hour. for the north bay, expect highs up to 69 in napa, as well as sonoma. as we get dressed this morning, you see the high temperatures that will be nice and mild today. still a cool start. grab a sweater to start. maybe a t-shirt under that to keep you comfortable the rest of the day. there's a weak disturbance that continues to move into the northern sierra. we call this an inside slider. an area of low pressure that's not moving from the pacific but staying kind of inland. this will miss the bay area but bring in some rain and also some sierra snow as we go into today and early tomorrow morning. we start to see that activity starting to taper off. but we are going to see, yes, additional snowfall in the

sierra today. we will keep it nice and quiet, nice and breezy. temperatures reaching the low 70s. it will be warming up as we head toward the end of the week. near 80 by friday. cooling down in time for the weekend as we watch another disturbance pass by into sunday. mike, you were checking up on a couple of issues. >> did you say a chance of snow today? >> yes. >> i had to check the date. holy smokes. a great drive. no snow on these roadways. just green for the most part. palo alto, i've been watching the live camera we have there as crews slowly travel north and south. they are clearing now from our view and clearing completely over the next few. seeing a little bit of slowing. quickly recovering south 6830 past south main. an earlier crash and reports of a full tire rolling through the lanes. may have been a quick tractor break. the slow we saw has cleared from

teenager is connected to at least five acts of vandalism including spraying graffiti on a store downtown. >> i don't know why people feel they have to do that to these beautiful old buildings. we have such a nice town here. and everybody is welcome. >> we have learned someone broke into phil's coffee shop stealing electronics. no one has been arrested in that case. under a proposed bill, school districts will be required to conduct active shooter lockdown drills. many administrators and staff are not adequately prepared. >> despite our strong laws, lockdown drills have been conducted by california skills the past 20 years. they are carried out at the discretion of each school and not mandated for frequently like fire and earthquake drills. >> the bill cleared the senate
