embassy for seven years. the judge sentenced him to 50 weeks behind bars. at this point we will assange will be back in court for a u.s. extradition hearing tied to charges he illegally conspired to break into a pentagon computer system. >> today is may 1st. activists will focus on worker rights. >> "today in the bay" kris sanchez joins us live in mountain view. a roundup really of the rest of the day's actions expected. good morning, kris. >> reporter: well, good morning to you, laura and marcus. we have seen google workers walking out en masse. all the action is expected to take place inside. this is a planned sit-in. this is what was posted on twitter under the handle google walkout. it reads we are sick of retaliation of forced sick leave and forced job changes. it calls for a sit-in at 11:00.

we cannot confirm how many workers might participate. many walked out to protest treatment of women and then last week "wired" magazines said two workers claimed retaliation. the company denies the allegation. as with every may day there are other rallies planned around the bay area. activists will rally for imgrant rights at 8:00 this morning. and san jose, labor and faith leaders at mexican heritage plaza at 4:00 this afternoon. this could be a big one. in san francisco, activists plan to speak out against workplace discrimination at justin herman plaza. they will gather at 4:00 this afternoon h. they are also going to march. we could see this action spill out onto market street. uc berkeley, labor unions will gather for their cause during the noon time hour. many other rallies happening from concord to santa rosa. we will continue our coverage of

derrick almena and max harris face a possibly 39-year sense if sentenced. prosecutors laid out their case. after that, the attorney for defendant max harris gave his opening statement. derrick almena's attorney will address the jury later this morning. >> a wrongful death lawsuit shining a light on tesla's autopilot feature. a bay area father was killed when he crashed on 101 in mountain view. the family of walter wong is holding a news conference to discuss a new lawsuit. it claims tesla's autopilot feature didn't work properly. the 38-year-old's car slammed into the median. the lawsuit says the state of california is to plame for his death. it claims caltrans did not replace a damaged guard after an earlier crash there. >> and the i-80 overpass has

been given the all clear after falling chunks of concrete. it fell in the area around harriet and harrison, not far from 6th street near the hall of justice. last night engineers inspected the overpass. they found no damage or issues with the structural integrity but they also say they don't yet know exactly what sent the concrete crashing down to the ground. new ordnance in san jose targeting sideshows is getting the green light. the entire city council voted for it. so from now on it's not just people driving in sideshows who could go to jail, its also the people watching them. you could face $1,000 fine for attending. the mayor says the big reason they happen is because so many people turn out to watch. the search is on for thieves who hit a coffee shop in the east bay. the laptop theft happened yesterday arch at a peet's on mt. diablo boulevard in

lafayette, highway 24. one of the suspects told two people he was armed, although no one actually saw a weapon. the suspects got away in a four-door dark colored saturn with tinted windows. spring cleaning for facebook comes with a makeover. what the social media giant is putting more of its focus on. >> and baseball fans will have a new way to exclusively watch a few games. the home run twitter is hoping for with baseball fans.

morning as you get ready to head out the door. overall, expecting another nice day. a live look at san francisco, taking a look at the bay bridge. a nice start to this wednesday morning. it's cooler as you get ready to step out. you will need a jacket as you step out the door. especially santa rosa. 47 degrees in livermore. lower 50s for parts of the south bay. san francisco now at 50 depress. the seven-day forecast is up at the bottom of the screen. taking a look at our morning commute forecast. brentwood, low 50s. you might want to crank up the heater in the car on your commute on the way into work. it's going to be in the low 50s for the next several hours. and then starting to warm up. we'll get a lot of sunshine. a nice little warmup. expect our high temperature to reach up to 75 in morgan hill. tri-valley reaching up to 75 in

livermore. 75 also in walnut creek. oakland today 69. 69 today in san mateo. we're reaching into the mid-60s in san francisco. embarcadero reaching 64 degrees. 76 today in novato. nice, quiet weather. but i'm also tracking our next storm system that is out there developing in the pacific. we can see the center of the low pressure and the swirl of the clouds around that. so as we go into the next couple of days, that will start to approach. but overall we're going to see some dry weather because of this high pressure. but as that moves out of the way, that will allow for this area of low pressure to move in in time for the weekend. it will bring in more clouds and possibly some showers going into sunday as well as monday. but right now our rain chances still very slight. doesn't look like a strong storm system but may bring in cooler weather as well as gusty winds. high temperatures mid to upper
