to you guys. they want better wages. we'll get to that, the details in a moment. how this would impact folks that use uber. we're being told by folks organizing this, they will log off the app at 12:00 p.m. they will hold a strike from 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. other drivers from lyft may join in as well. more than 10 cities are taking part, including los angeles. they will hold a strike at lax. and workers will strike at 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., in the morning commute hours. the company is expected to raise $9 billion from investors and

will be valued or estimated value could be $91.5 billion. >> they're going to make millions. trillions even. and here we are, we're trying to survive. that's it. what better time to go on strike than the time when they are going pledge. >> it's in solidarity for the rest of the drivers in the country. i have enjoyed it, but the rates have constantly gone down over that period of time. sometimes unexplained, unannounced and unanticipated. >> i don't like the way that they keep on reducin the rates. it makes it harder for everybody to, you know, kind of like try to break even or survive. uber lyft. it is working to improve the driver experience whether it's more consistent earnings, stronger insurance, protections or fully funded four-year degrees for drivers and their families.

really guys at this point it's unknown how big an impact the strike will have. we'll have that for you in the next half hour. live in san francisco. pete suratos for "today in the bay". >> pete, thank you. 4:34 for you right now. new, santa rosa firefighters battling a sixth floor apartment fire. one person is in the hospital and a dozen people are out of their homes. santa rosa fire posted this. it started a little before 1:00 in the morning at an apartment complex on mendocino and 4the rn river brewery. one person suffered serious burns. the cause of the fire is under investigation. a live look at oakland where overnight council members signed off on a sweeping three-year plan aimed at improving city

streets. it allocates $100 million for street repairs. oakland has some of the worst roadways in the nation. in part from a lot of potholes. two men took matters into their own hands calling them the pothole vigilantes. they have been filling in holes the last two weeks with easy stre street. we know the identity of one of two suspects accused in opening fire at a charter school yesterday near denver. this is police towing the car out of the home of devon ericsson. he and another student walked into the school and shot their classmates in two separate locations. one person has died.

18-year-old kendrick castillo. it happened as school ended yesterday. parents describe the sheer terror. >> she was in mrs. harper's room when the shooters came in shooting. she said two of her classmates took the shooters down. and she was able to escape. >> so sad. some family members of the student who died tell nbc that he is an 18-year-old student. investigators so far are not releasing ericsson's photo. >> it is 4:36 right now. new details on release of body camera video. it shows ronell foster by ava lay hoe police officer. the confrontation started when the officer tried to stop foster on his bike. it quickly escalated. the officer only activated his body camera after shooting foster and claimed foster had grabbed his flashlight. that's just one of the issues

leaving family members outraged. their attorney plans to talk about the video this morning and the officer who shot foster who they believe was also involved in the controversial deadly police shooting of a man earlier this year at a fast food drive through. family members in shock after the death of a loved one in san jose. he was killed during a street race on cinco de mayo. police say he was a passenger in that car. >> and everyone involved in the crash were all relatives. ian cole explains what happened. >> reporter: the family tkpaers f gathers for a memorial. it is where the 24-year-old, a passenger in an apparent street race, was killed when the car he was in slammed into this tree. he said david was a great person, more than a first cousin. he was my brother. gentle. and he wanted to be a police poce say the man driver of the

all right. we're going to get to wall street now. trying to make their way back from yesterday's big selloff. yesterday stocks fell sharply on continued concerns about the u.s. and china trade deal and its impact on the overall global economy. this comes after president trump said he would impose higher tariffs on chinese goods this week. the dow was down 660 points at the lows during the day. they closed down 473 points. all 30 stocks finished in the red. google news, the company plans to roll out newls to limit how much advertisers can track you online. people who use chrome will be able to see all the cookies that are stored in their web browser and block any they just don't like. advertisers use cookies to see what you are searching for to target you with ads. it is the largest seller of online ads with a third of all online ad revenue. grads are looking for somewhere

weather and traffic together. let's start out with that forecast. >> we have some great weather again today. we really have had a nice streak of sunshine during the afternoon hours. that's a live look outside at san francisco. starting out cloudy once again as we will see the clouds

gradually clearing out as we normally see this time of year. pleasant hill will be in the mid-50s. 56 through 7:00. then upper 60s at 11:00 today. the seven-day forecast already up at the bottom of the screen. checking out our highs for today with los gatos reaching 74. milpitas, 76 degrees. a high of 76 in walnut creek. upper 50s in half moon bay. san mateo, 69. palo alto, 74. 60 for the mission district. it will be still pretty gusty with winds have the west. north bay highs to low 70s and upper 70s in ukiah. a live look outside at the shark tank. as you are getting dressed, it's a day for short sleeves. we will need long sleeves to start. maybe wear sneakers. you will want to spend extra time outside enjoying the

sunshine. as we look at the forecast for the game that starts at 6:00, it will be right about 70 degrees. perfect for the pregame festivities. as we go into the rest of the forecast, we will see the clouds near the coast. and partly cloudy skies. but changes ahead. we start to see another round of showers, possibly thunderstorms developing over the sierra that could push in late thursday night. here we are at 9:00. we start to see some of that rain making it into the eas bay, and the south bay by 11:00 thursday night. and still lingering showers possible early friday morning. so that's the only chancefra we. and then we will see a very nice mother's day weekend going into the next several days. our temperatures stay in the upper 70s in the valleys. mike, you just missed the traffic break. >> we did, kari. that's all right. we are looking over here. we have a smoother road flow to show you in palo alto.

southbound right on schedule. we saw the traffic break right around willow. it just let loose a few minutes ago. traffic going back to the speed limit. slow coming up into the area. southbound showing the effects of the earlier break. but again we saw the lanes all clear as you pass by university and willow. the rest of the bay does have spots of construction as well. we may see similar flow. that is the most pronounced on 101. upper east shore freeway, there was a hit and run reported. everything is off the to chp. it happened in the last 20 minutes over there. 580, very easy drive right now. be clearing from the span. and folks just arriving at the bay bridge. backs to you. thanks, mike. the number of traffic accidents already making it one of the most dangerous in california according to state safety
