8:38 am
>> i want a desk because i hate sitting pretty. >> look at me. >> i want to be pretty here up that's it. i don't know if i want it to be a wooden desk. i want it to be funkier. >> a couch desk? >> or like a bar table we'll see. >> that would be nice. it's 1:30. why not? >> you can do whatever you want. you're designing the show from scratch. have you thought about what kind of late night host you want to be >> i want to be positive i want people to say i've had a long day and i want to laugh it's still going to be my same brand of positive comedy sketch comedy. >> you have to do sketches. >> got to do sketches. it's my priority to do sketches. >> have you tried booking guests you have dewayne johnson. >> he's the top of the list. we have a dream list of guests but right now we're trying to get a show runner and finding a director. >> do you think you'll do a monologue and that kind of thing
8:39 am
too? >> i want to do a monologue but i want to take whatever is there and i want to mess it up so i want to play around with it a bit. >> it's interesting because you're huge on youtube, everyone on youtube knows exactly who you are so this is kind of a new audience but you have been very famous for awhile now. >> you help my self-esteem so much, thank you. >> i want to be positive too. >> you're going to be on my show. >> i'm the easiest booking you'll ever have i'm available every night. >> thank you. >> but have you thought about how to kind of marry those two things so you have network television now plus your youtube audience you don't want to lose them? >> i'm still going to maintain my youtube channel that community is so important to me. they have given me so much of my success. so i'm not going to abandon them but some things are universal, laughing, positivity, feeling good, leading with love and light all of those things are universal and that's what i hope to bring. >> can you believe this has all
8:40 am
happened to you. >> no. >> i'm going to be honest. i have processed like 50% of this 50%. there's still a part of me that's like no, this is not actually happening. >> but you know it's real when you actually get invited to the met gala. >> stop. it was pretty cool. >> a poor slob like me that's never gone, there's your dress which is so beautiful. >> i thought i'd lean in and i wanted to pay tribute to my good indian hair genes. so it made it longer quick story of why jimmy fallon is my fasavior he's is supportive but i was walking down the stairs and i couldn't walk in my dress and suddenly my whole dress elevated and i looked back and jimmy is holding the back of my dress. >> who knew. chivalry is not dead. >> always has my back. love that guy. >> we gave you this whole set up i don't want to put you on the spot but if you want to ask me
8:41 am
any questions that you might ask on your show >> how are you >> thank you for being here. >> my pleasure. >> such a big fan. i want to know actually, i'm planning my show and i want to ask if you were a guest on my show what is the perfect gift for me to give you in the green room. >> you know who has very good gifts. >> who >> jimmy fallon. >> this is why i asked. >> maybe a pair of slippers. >> did someone tell you that. >> no. >> because my thinking was i hate wearing heels and i want to take them off so if i gave people custom slippers. >> custom slippers. >> i love it. >> a little late with lill lilly singh premieres this fall. i'll be watching on tape because it's 1:30 in the morning. >> acceptable. >> we'll all be watching this is elvis by the way who is ready to adopt a furry friend animal lover and advocate death ste -- beth stern is here with everything we need to know about
