after four threats in just the last two weeks. and now the fbi is on the case. its happening at "california high school" in san ramon. graffiti -- scrawled in the boys ) bathroom and other parts of campus. one message earlier this month said -- there would be a shooting on may 9th. another message targeted the school this upcoming memorial day. officers will be patrolling the campus thru the end of the school year. campus leaders say they plan to install more surveillance cameras... they already have 47 on campus. the school district tells us - they )ve so far caught four students responsible for writing one of the violent messages on a campus shack... and say they have been punished for it. now to a brutal attack in san francisco. if you recognize this man... police need your help finding him. they say he used a metal baton to attack three people just blocks away from union square. it happened sunday afternoon on jones street in the tenderloin.

detectives don )t know why the man attacked the trio... they say it happened suddenly, without warning. a concerning story for parents. a hidden camera was found inside the boys bathroom of an east bay trampoline park. richard rocha from antioch -- is accused of putting a camera in the restroom at the "rockin jump" trampoline park in fremont. an employee found it and called police. investigators say rocha caught himself on camera when he was setting it up. police are now working to find out if rocha placed cameras in other spots. only on nbc: graphic and disturbng. a motorcyclist is dead and his friend under arrest after this crash in san jose . neighbors say a street race is to blame -- something they say they are tired of seeing in

san jose cloudy skies across the bay area this morning. they're tracking gusty winds and rain in the middle of may. can you believe it? we'll continue. upper 50s and low 60s today. she'll be along in five minutes with microclimate forecast and we are under a microclimate alert. the measles is striking the east bay. a berkeley person has the first confirmed case in aloe meade da county. that person most likely contracted it when they visited a popular marketplace.

the berkeley bowl. today in the bay's cheryl heard has more on the health warning. >> reporter: it was business as urk ul at the berkeley bowl marketplace, but there are signs inside the store alerting shoppers of the measles scare. >> i just got a text. i was planning on coming here anyways. i was like, okay, may 7th, it will be fine. >> dr. lisa hernandez is a health officer for the city of berkeley. she says there's no need to panic, but people need to be on alert. >> measles is an airborne disease. that means it travels in the air and when someone coughs or sneezes it stays in the air for an hour. >> the symptoms for the measles are like a cold or a flu. the disease turns into a rash. >> there are people who have chosen not to vaccinate where there's people who are very compromised and it makes them very sick. >> reporter: so far this year there have been 45 confirmed measles cases in california. the berkeley case is the first

that was a memorable time of the year. >> isn't it the best, too, when you're a kid? >> yes. >> you don't know you're sledding on a garbage can top. >> always the coolest. let's talk about the microclimate weather. the fact that we are seeing so much rain for the month of may and we have more rain already underway, look how beautiful the shot looks. the reason we are under the weather is here. doppler radar, you can see the cold front tracking inland just off shore. look at that. this is expected to make its move from north to south. so it will start out already seeing a couple showers in the north bay and then it will given to spread south ward. i'm going to take you through the hour by hour. it will begin around 12:30, 1:00. it's becoming widespread from ukaia, san francisco, even down through san jose. we get a 30-minute window if any, as a matter of fact, to kind of get a little break from that first round of showers and then look, if i fast forward

this to 3:30, 4, 5:00, we continue to see widespread rain throughout. as that frontal system begins to fliel, guess what else it brings? gusty winds. right around 9:00 we're expe expecting a couple of heavier cells. this means a chance for some isolated thunderstorms as that frontal passes through and as we head into the overnight hours, the showers will continue. tomorrow morning for sunday expect another chance of isolated showers. that instability will carry over into your sunday forecast. as far as the rain goes, today it will be more widespread. a little bit more continuous. by tomorrow it will be more on and off. 11:00 p.m., we will begin to see that system make its way out. if you're worried about the rain totals, areas in the north bay including santa rosa, seeing it double the amount it will get from may. now we're going to add additional inches to that. north bay, some parts including

summer, higher totals with a little over an inch, half an inch in through the south bay. santa cruz, just a little over an inch. i'm taking this through tomorrow. this is combining today's rain with tomorrow. you can see we're adding anywhere from a half an inch to an additional inch. very impressive. that's why we keep calling this unusual. temperatures seeing so much rain for the month of may. let's talk about the wind speeds. we are expecting this to get gusty around the 4:00, 5:00, 6:00 hour. 20, 30-mile-an-hour winds and it picks up tomorrow evening. you're heading out to lake tahoe. it looks beautiful. this is your window. tracking several more inches of snow into the late hours and sunday morning. if you miss that window, check those air conditioners. we don't want to be the person who gets stuck on the road in a snowstorm. in the next several days we'll check temperatures and rain on

>> the emergency room at stanford hospital can be a very busy place, but not always. once in a great while things do get quiet. emergency room technician jack dewey remembers one such night last year. >> it was a very slow night. all the work was done. i couldn't go help anywhere else. >> reporter: there was, however, one young patient there, and jack went looking for something he could use to cheer the child up. he found all of these things, compression bandages, normally used to wrap wounds. >> it's the only thing here that we have that comes in any different color. it was a lot more of a friendly material to work with. there's a lot of sharp, pointy things here. that was the most fun. >> though he had never done anything like it before, jack created this orange fish in just a few minutes. >> and it turned out pretty well. i showed everybody in the

department first. everyone got excited. oh, that went very well. didn't need too many supplies. it all worked well. >> and made a kid happy. >> yeah, and made the kid happen. >> that was all the feedback jack needed to do it again and try to do it better. >> figuring it out. cutting up rolls of tape. trying what worked and what didn't. a lot of trial and error, a lot. >> when 3m, the maker of the bandage found out what he was doing, they sent him a box of 20 different colors and jack's creation got more and more creative. he calls them cobanimals and has given dozens out to young patients but kept some for himself. friends told jack they were so good he could make money selling them. but that, jack felt, wasn't the point. >> it didn't feel right trying to do all this self-promotion and promoting the cobanimals and having it benefit something that was originally supposed to help

the north bay already starting to see some showers. the heaviest rain is expected between 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. i know that's such a big stretch, but -- i'm sorry, 8:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. it arrives between 8 to 11 a.m. it spreads from north to south. wind gusts 15 to 35 miles per hour with a chance of isolated thunderstorms as that storm front passes through. heavy, heavy sierra snow which is why we're talking about the tight window. if you're not making your way up in the next hour or so, it will be really tough commute. talking gusty conditions. a combination of rain or snow. talking additional inches up through the sierra in through sunday as well. not going to be a good commute for the sierra either. the timing, people will have breaks. coming in about 15 minutes. >> that's important to see. we'll see you in 15. this weekend's rain will impact many events across the bay area.

elderly customers in the east bay. had happened at an authorized store in berkeley. he texted credit card information hand personal information of his. he's now facing 12 felony charges. you may have heard there's a growing number of people calling for facebook to be shrunk by the government. now one of the people in the biggest names of the company is responding. on cnbc chief operating officer sheryl sandberg argued that facebook is already working with government officials to improve regulations. she also says if facebook were broken newspaper smaller pieces it would be more difficult to compete with larger chinese companies that face no threat of a breakup. sandberg stressed facebook is spending time and money to fix what woeblt wrong.

still ahead on today in the bay. good morning. it is 7:43. we are under a microclimate alert. it's cloudy and the rain is already starting to make its move. let's take a look at what doll will you be -- doppler radar is showing us. we'll zoom this in. the north bay already seeing some of those showers.

the system will be moving north to south. let's take you through that time line. right around 9:00 a.m. we'll begin to see areas south of the golden gate bridge. the heaviest rain is making its move in around 12, 1:00. look at this, more widespread with a couple of pockets of heavier rain. it really sticks around all day long. a little break in between. i would say a 10 to 20 minute break and then more rain moves in. keep in mind, as that frontal system passes there will be a chance of seeing isolated thunderstorms plus also gusty conditions. the rain will carry on all through the evening right around 5:00 you can see some heavy pockets come through. catch a little bit of a break between 5:00 and 8, and by little i do mean slight break because it will still be cloudy and rainy at times. heavier pockets of the santa cruz mountain. maybe not even the umbrella because it's going to be windy. if we take you through tomorrow

morning, we get the rain that moves in early on. then it's more on and off. not as more widespread or consistent as it will be today. it will be considered a rainy day. and take a look at the raincoat. we've already seen double the amount for that system, well, we would get through. and possibly an additional inch plus in the north bay for tonight. i'm going to take this all the way through tomorrow. take a look at some of these additional rainfall totals. santa cruz mountains, a little over an inch. santa fe, over half an inch of additional rainfall. that's pretty impressive. not only that, but we're also attracting the gusty winds.

airbnb. consumer investigator chris komura explains. >> it's a huge amount of money because this sonoma couple's house burned to the ground while airbnb guests were renting it. the homeowners can't talk with us anymore as part of a settlement with airbnb so you won't see them but they wanted you to see the plight they faced and the big financial risk you might be taking by taking in tenants. >> our house is on fire. >> what part of the house? >> the whole house. >> amazingly eight airbnb renters survived this raging 2017 house fire. >> keep everybody out of the collapse. >> just after they escaped much of the sonoma house collapsed. the fire marshall's report notes noncode electric work near a wooden outdoor deck. also how two airbnb renters were smoking on that deck an hour before the fire. it's possible one of them threw cigarette butts over the railing or dropped one on the deck.

you might remember, we had thoemp on a few weeks ago. they were much smaller. i think they were on a baking sheet. they were so little. and they were too young to be adopted at that point. but you have kindly nursed them to a bigger, healthier state. >> healthier state. a little over seven weeks so this coming week they'll go in for final vaccinations and spaying and neutering and they'll be ready for adoption. >> wow. i bet you're sad to say goode bye to them. someone can adopt just one, right? they don't have to adopt all three? >> right. adopt one. we recommend two because they help to socialize and play with each other and burn off energy. one people can adopt just one as well. >> you also have ten more litters of kittens returning to your shelter soon for spaying, neutering and vaccination so they'll be available for adoption soon. >> very soon, yes. >> anyone in the market for a
