ill. >> they were stricken with a ase of norovirus. there are still concerns it could spread >> at nordstrom elementary, a students and a few staff members were sent home from school sick. some parents picking up their kids from an after-school program on campus will be watching their students closely. >> usually the stomach bug hits you at 3:00 in the morning when your daughter runs it and says, i think i'm going to throw up! yeah, it is a concern. >> the janitors brought bleach to clean the rooms. a call was made home to parents and a letter sent home. >> it alleviates the spread. >> they are common this time of year. the best way to prevent it,

the u.s. state and city flag flying over buildings. a number of people protested the decision this past saturday. tonight city council will consider a new policy to provide guidance on which can and cannot fly over the city building. >> just against my religion really. i don't believe in flying the rainbow flag here. this country is turning into a pile of dung as far as i'm concerned. especially california. >> i can we should fly the flag. >> why? >> i think -- i don't know. my sister is lesbian. i support them all the way. i think we should all support them all the way. >> last month's meeting was contentious. some members of the public spoke for flying the rainbow flag. he addressed one of the homophobic remarks made by a

member of the public at last month's meeting. he says a lot of people are making a big deal about the fact that there was a little rebuke of the horrible things he mentioned at the meeting. many of these said were said by people who don't even live in dublin, but came from neighboring cities. dublin is a diverse community, and nobody should tell you otherwise. that is the comment from the mayor. over 700 people have already signed a petition demanding that the city fly the rainbow flag. >> thank you very much, sharon. meanwhile, santa clara county will gather in support of lgbtq rights. it is one day after a flag was raised over city hall in santa clara. lafayette, concord and richmond also voted to do the same. >> happening today, san francisco leaders expected to hold a final vote on a controversial first of its kind law to ban the use of tparbl

recognition technology. supervisors voted last month to ban police and other city departments from using it. the ordinance will not prevent the federal government, businesses or individuals from in it. all right. in one week, school will be out for students in union city and hayward. it doesn't mean much with teachers still in their third week of a bitter strike. both sides remain far apart in negotiations. the teachers plan to attend tonight's school board meeting. yesterday they were joined by teachers who walked off the job earlier in the year. san jose reminding everybody is looking out for illegal fireworks. they are active indicating its online tool to directly alert police. you can take the person that's delivering the fireworks, not the fireworks up in the sk

good morning. here are today's top business headlines. wall street is set for a higher open this morning. dow made a come back yesterday erasing a triple digit loss. the nasdaq was dragged down by alphabet and amazon on reports that the government is stepping up anti-trust probes of those companies. on today's watch list, a report on factory orders. walmart is hoping to win over a new group of workers, high school students. employer, will begin offering et free s.a.t. and a.c.t. prep it tries to attract workers in a tightening job market. the percentage of teens who work has fallen steadily in recent years as school work and extracurricular activities become demanding. high school students make up less than 2% of the u.s.

some sunscreen and you bring some bottles of water. because our temperatures will be heading into the upper 80s throughout the day. even at 6:00 with the later graduations, it's still going to be very warm with mid-80s. this is a look at our high temperatures for the south bay. up to 92 in gilroy today. t 89 . and we're going to cee lo 90s in the inland valleys. antioch today reaching danville. oakland today, up to 78 degrees. it does stay cool in half moon bay at 64. san mateo up to 80 degrees. san francisco mostly mid to upper 60s. but a few spots like the mission district into the low 70s. and north bay reaching into the upper 80s today. it is all clear and dry right now. we have high pressure off to our east. it's giving us some very hot temperatures. but there will be an area of low pressure passing by to our north, bringing in a little bit of a break from this high heat

on thursday and friday. so that's the coolest days we have in the forecast before it heats up again this weekend. we have more hot weather coming our way. we'll be in the low 90s today and tomorrow. once again, temperatures. friday is looking good. on saturday and c peninsula. >> we talked about the crash on 101. no traffic flowing right now at willow. i believe this is for the construction and the crash is even farther north. southbound right now completely held up. northbound has crews that have to clear as well. this is right at the time we typically see slowing on willow and university moving their crews. temporary traffic break. coming toward the area, marsh where the crash is reported. sensors haven't had time to report because it happened just as kari was giving her report.

crews typically take just a few minutes to move. if camino real. smooth all around the bay. coming toward north wynn road. coming through contra costa county, easy drive across the carquinas. antioch, rio vista, all moving smoothly. moving to vasco, 580, without a problem. cash lanes showing their typical build for the approach toward the 5:00 hour. still one cash lane on either side. back to you. thank you very much, mike. heads-up for drivers in contra costa county. two days of closures could give you a headache if you're on a late night drive. caltrans will shut down highway 4 from peralta to 680 in concord. and the next morning eastbound will close.
