executive order for the tariffs to kick in on monday. president trump lands in washington this afternoon. as mexico makes a last ditch effort to convince the u.s. their immigration enforcement is enough to avoid a 5% escalating tariff starting monday. the president told fox overnight. >> i'm asking them for everything. by the way, if they don't do it, i'm putting the tariffs on and we're going to make a financial. >> reporter: that's not what financial experts say. they are concerned americans will pay the extra costs. mexican officials are optimistic. >> we explained all the enforcement measures that mexico is taking to address migration. >> reporter: 6,000 mexican troops at the border with guatemala. >> we called on them to take even more steps, more decisive action. >> reporter: meantime, president trump is in a war of words with house speaker nancy pelosi.

yesterday the nba and the warriors banned and fined one of the team's owners after he shoved one of the raptors's players. kyle lowry fell to the front row trying to save a ball from going on it of bounds. minority order mark stevens was sitting there. he shoved lowry as lowry tried to stand back up. lowry says he hurled some vulgarities at him. he must now pay a $500,000 fine and is not allowed to participate in games the next year. >> i have been involved with the league for a long time. i haven't seen an incident quite like this before, and i don't expect we'll see one in the future. >> a guy like that showing his true class. he shouldn't be a part of our league. there's just no place for that. >> reporter: mark stevens did accept the league's ban and the fine. he also apologized that reads in part, what i did was wrong and

joaquin valley. as the winds pick up, a dry northerly wind 10 to 20 miles per hour. at times gusts up to 35. winds start to pick up tonight. as we go into the day, wind speeds mostly 15 to 20 miles per hour. then going into tomorrow morning. a little bit more of a brisk wind. temperatures heat up and it will be a dry wind. by sunday, look how hot it will be inland. reaching 9 6. but that's not the peak of the heat. we will reach 98 on monday. gradual cooling throughout next week. we are in for a hot weekend. san francisco will be heating up along with bay area beaches. you're starting with castro valley again. this is at a minimum now.

stretcher in arizona that made national headlines. all new this morning, the injured hiker says she is still feeling nauseous and dizzy from all of this. her and her husband were hiking when she fell breaking her nose and hurting her hand and her leg. but she also said she hurt her hip. so that's why she was airlifted to the hospital. this morning her husband says he watched with absolute horror from below as that stretcher started spinning out of control. he says he didn't know if his wife was going to survive. >> i didn't know if she was dead or alive. that thing was spinning so fast. the blood was going into her head, to her eyeballs. she didn't know what was happening. she thought she was going to die when she was spinning. she is very dizzy and gnaws kwrous. >> still? >> she hasn't been able to get out of bed. i'm just hopeful that doctors and medical people can get her

well, at 5:30, breaking news to tell you about. a brushfire burning in south centr central. >> this is near santa teresa and bailey near coyote creek golf course. we have understand at least half an acre is burning. we're told the fire started when a car hit a pole and started around 4:10 this morning. we are sending a crew there. they're going to get there and check out the situation and bring us more information when they get it. as soon as they they can. let's check over with kari now with a look at the forecast. kari, we have good news in your department. >> he ya. it will be a cool day.

they're calling it a milestone. vta is handing over the keys to the bart extension project to bart. >> "today in the bay" damian trujillo joins us with what this all means. >> vta was running phase one to san jose. the goal now is to officially begin renting trains to the bart station by december. let me show you what that means. right now the bart tracks and at the warm springs station in fremont. the 10-mile extension will have a station in milpitas and another at berryessa in san jose. we have been talking about this since 1984 when the early studies took place. since then this has been vta's project. they managed it. bart now has control of phase one of this extension means now the agency can integrate the

project with its main system. bart will perform their own safety checks. and most importantly, bart will set the fares. bart will take you from milpitas to san francisco in one hour. trains should be running before the end of the year. phase 2 will take bart through downtown san jose, santa clara. the project is still years away. phase two is still in engineering and preconduction phase. finally the trains are coming to san jose. tomorrow family, friends, and the oakland community will come together to honor oscar grant. he was shot and killed by a police officer 10 years ago.

his death sparked rioting and led to reforms in the bart police department. family members will be present and present new street signs naming the area where taxis pull in near the station after grant. san mateo police officer is on paid administrative leave this morning. this is a photo of him. he's accused of trying to meet a girl he thought was 16 for sex. a san jose police arrested robert davies yesterday in morgan hill. the alleged sexual conversation happened online in early may first on tinder, then tick-tock, and then on snapchat. the person chatting with the officer said she was 19, then 16. then they discovered he was a police officer. >> engaging in sexual activity. they also learned the tipster also learned that the suspect was a bay area police officer. >> this person knows exactly what he is doing. and he tried to cover his trail.

>> police are just calling the woman a concerned internet tipster, nothing else. it does not reflect the values of the police department said the chief. according to the silicon valley internet crimes against children task force, one out of 12 kids have exchanged messages online with sexual predators. 1 in 20 have arranged meeting with someone they met online. and 3 out of 10 parents allow their kids to use the internet without any restrictions. they will be outfitted with tracking devices. according to the examiner, the departments have until the end of june of next year to comply with the changes. a supervisor noticed a large amount of paymentouts to accidents with city vehicles.

police told our crew at the scene the car driver sped off but left a bumper behind. two people in the truck went to the hospital with moderate injuries. we're learning new details surrounding a big change in governor newsom's $213 billion proposed budget. he wants to spend millions more on his staff and what former governor jerry brown did. specifically, he wants to use that money to pay for more senior advisers on high priority issues like wildfires. he also wants to hire 24 more people compared to when brown left office. governor newsom's office is not commenting on what those positions would be. now to a follow-up. organizers of a pride parade are reversing course on a controversial decision. uniformed police officers are now welcome at this weekend's parade and other festivitiefest. the lgbtq asked city officers

verified who the woman was before renting to her. they have not responded >> first years after a police raid at the stonewall inn and the commissioner is apologizing. here's background for you. back in 1969, nypd officers carried out a violent raid on the gay bar trying to shut it down. this is the video. people fought back, throwing stones, bottles and whatever they could at officers until they were retreated. it became a huge moment in history and sparked demonstrations for equal rights. here's commissioner o'neill's apology. >> i do know what happened should not have happened. the actions taken by the nypd were wrong, plain and simple. >> we have come a long way for 50 years, but we have 50 years to go. >> that is the owner of the stonewall inn curt kelly.
