for hiv. homeland security is not issuing a comment. a developing story. later this morning, rescue crews will resume the search for a missing boater outside of livermore. teams searched the lake late into the night. a man went into the water just after 6:00 p.m. he was on a small aluminum boat when he jumped off or fell over and never came back up. they were forced to wait until daylight. >> you have to make a constant assessment of the recuers' safety. we have to keep your people safe to make sure they can help the people we're here to help. >> authorities say this is the second accident in the past few days on the lake. in the other accident, no one died. new details now about a controversial police shooting in vallejo that left a local rapper dead. a new report says vallejo officers shot willie coy 55 times in less than 4 seconds.

an independent use of force experts find their conduct was reasonable and in line with training and police practices. this happened in early february where mccoy was found slumped over in the driver's seat unresponsive but with a gun in his lap. body camera video shows the officers surrounded the vehicle and then opened fire after seeing mccoy move. mccoy's family is pushing for police reform after that shooting. new for you this morning, some workers are accusing the city of oakland of threatening layoffs after the union criticized mayor schaaf's proposed city budget. two unions representing 3,000 workers say they support rebecca caplan's alternative budget. the union claims they sent layoff threats to workers if caplan's budget is adopted. lombard street will face its first test in the state senate. a finance committee will vote on

the lombard street toll. there are a number of before this becomes a reality. a public hearing and setting up a reservation system for drivers to use the street. if it gets final approval, toll could range from $5 to $10 per ride. it would not kick in until 2020. inviting all fans to take in a movie night on the field this summer. ♪ mama, just killed a man >> this is one i would like to go to. >> yeah, for sure. >> the tickets go on sale for the special screening today at noon on the team's site. that event will take place saturday, july 13th. you'll get to watch the film on a brand-new 4k screen. >> oh, that is huge. >> beautiful screen, too. the night will also include a preshow performance by the band killer queens. after the show, fans will get to take in a fireworks show.

>> wow. >> a portion of all ticket sales will be donated to the san francisco aids foundation. >> they might have to hand out fans that they had last night. >> that would be really cool, though. but as we talk about this heat, it has been unbearable for the bay area. and so we have also had the fire sparking up making air quality even worse. as we take a look at what's happening now, these dots indicate our air quality right now. where we see the yellow, if you have breathing problems, or if you are sensitive to wildfire or smoke, it is not a good day still. but it has been improving for the south bay as well as parts of the east bay. we will be watching out for the air quality. as our temperatures go up, martinez starts out humid. every couple of hours we will jump 10 degrees until we make it into the mid to upper 90s today. another hot one.

right now 5:12, we start out with high humidity and hot weather. in campbell, it will be another hot day.

normally we are only seeing a high of 79 degrees. but check this out. we'll be in the low 90s again today. so we will talk about some cooling changes. even if it's just brief. we will talk about that in the forecast in less than five minutes. over the last five minutes, headlights heading northbound through palo alto at university, they were stopped. there were none. crews are clearing around the bay. we will show you if that's causing an issue for your drive coming up. and good morning. very happy wednesday to you. stocks look like they will move lower again. "the wall street journal" said wells fargo is having trouble filling its ceo position. the two people the bank offered the job to don't want it, according to the newspaper. crowd strike priced its ipo. this is a security company. $34 a share. it is the security company that figured out it was the russians who were hacking the democrats during the 2016 presidential campaign.

i'll talk more about crowd strike in a moment. but let's talk about a different democrat. you remember this was the fake video of nancy pelosi. it had been slowed down to make it look like she was drunk. nancy pelosi doesn't drink. facebook said it would not take it down because it didn't violate facebook's policy. well, there was a lot of talk about someone uploading a video of mark zuckerberg to see what someone has done. to be clear, this is entirely fake. we added the words up there doctored video in the upper left just to make sure you understand it is doctored. the fakers did the rest, adding the words to make it look like a news program, faking what he said using somebody else's voice but using computers to change his mouth and change his expressions. >> i owe it all to specker. all right. take a look at this. they are hoping to help dads with diapers on the government the on the go. the hashtag love the change campaign. the goal is to provide 5,000 changing tables for men's restrooms. pampers says research shows 9 out of 10 dads have to use a public restroom lacking a baby changing table. they are hoping the change will come. >> dads have to resort to all of these maneuvers because there's no changing stations in our restrooms. parents, we hear you. >> pampers said the first 500 locations have already been identified. installing is expected to be completed over the coming weeks. >> mike, what was the most interesting place you had to change a diaper? >> we always look for the kuala.

so it's 77 in brentwood. the difference is the high humidity we're feeling this morning. that keeps the temperatures dipping. not only that but we are seeing clouds moving in. despite the cloud cover, it is still going to be really hot today, reaching up to about 95 degrees in san jose and in gilroy. 99 will be the high in concord. fremont reaching 9 4. and then in half moon bay, looking at a high of 77. palo alto, 93 degrees. up to 80 today in the mission district. and a shift in the wind. temperatures in the north bay back in the 90s. we talk about the hot temperatures. at least we're not seeing widespread triple digits. we know with natural air-conditioning, it helps to keep san francisco and the coastal areas cooler.

it is going to be hot, reaching into the mid-90s. a stronger breeze keeping it a little bit more comfortable. upper 80s. low 80s. by the weekend, we will see it start to warm up agai as we go into the end of the weekend, early next week, mid-90s by tuesday. san francisco catching a break there after another hot day. we will be in the 60s by tomorrow. mike, the overnight road crews, are they starting to move out yet? >> they are starting to move out. they are improving the roadways. for the most part, not a lot of slowing. fremont, a lot of slowing the last few minutes. now clearing. overnight they were working on the right lanes. just cleared a few minutes ago.

downtown l.a. and that the shooting appeared to be random. florida is now talking about two giraffes. they believe they died from the same lightning strike in may. the "miami herald" said people found the animals after a fast-moving storm. the park calls it a billion to one tragedy. >> the governor of san antonio, texas signed a save the chick-fil-a bill into law. opponents say this encourages discrimination. new details now about the shooting of boston red sox legend david ortiz in the dominican republic. police are now charging a second suspect in connection with the shooting. . >> authorities say the first suspect, who was beaten bibi standers after the shooting will be charged as an accomplice. police have not released deals about the suspect arrested

rvs on city streets in 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., in the overnight hours. this came after seven or eight hours of debate and discussion on this issue. this is an issue that is being discussed all across the bay area with rising rents, more people are living in rvs. dozens of people showed up to voice their opposition. the city discussed creating a safe parking area for people to stay in their rvs. this man was not happy with the outcome. >> it is really baffling how, even after you have the power to do something to help these people and they're asking it to you to your face, you can turn around and say, oh, i know better than you. >> so a really tough issue across the bay area. other cities trying to tackle the issue as well. palo alto had a meeting earlier this week.

out this morning. sharon? >> reporter: kris, good morning. santa clara county sheriff's office is working this case. an argument may have led up to the shooting. the shooting took place at the summit park and ride at the summit road exit and mount charlie road exit at 110:30 last night. deputies took pictures of evidence near the white honda pilot. chp also responded. the sheriff's department said the reporting party heard two people arguing outside their vehicles and soon after heard what sounded like a gunshot. one of the parties was shot and drove himself to a place nearby. the family member drove the victim to a local hospital. a 33-year-old male who suffered one gunshot wound. his injuries appear to be nonlife threatening. we are hearing that the suspect's vehicle may be a dodge charger, last seen heading southbound on highway 17. and if you have any information, contact us the santa county

clara sheriff's department. back to you. >> sharon, thank you. 5:34. developing right now, hoping to get an update from san leandro police on a deadly officer-involved shooting on martin near 880. someone called 911 to report a man in the street with a machete exposing himself to children. officers opened fire saying he refused to drop the weapon. they believe he was drawing a gun which they later determined was not a gun. >> the object that the subject had produced was similar in size, color, and shape of a handgun. however, it was not a 00 began. that object has been recovered. >> we still don't know the identity of the man who was killed. breaking news right now overseas where there is a lot of drama playing out on the streets of hong kong right now. protests at times were violent. this is video from earlier in the day there.

we saw police firing tear gas into the crowd. there are also reports of authorities firing rubber bullets there. demonstrators are proposing an extradition bill that could send suspects to mainland china to face prosecution. this is live look at the streets of hong kong. it's 9:30 there. crowds are dissipating just a bit. you can see a lot of folks milling about on the roadways. earlier this morning we saw a lot of folks on the move. and certainly an active situation. we will bring you updates as we get them out of hong kong. also, here at home in antioch, leaders agree to recognize june as pride month. video right now advocate the raising a flag shortly after the unanimous vote. you might remember they postponed the vote after a heated council meeting. >> and a look live at oracle

friend ronald goldman were found murdered in los angeles. >> simpson was tried for the murders, but a jury found him not guilty. now all of these years later, goldman's sister is reexamining the case. kim goldman has a new podcast confronting simpson, it's called. she said it's been far too much about simpson and not about the victim. >> i am forced now to have to endure this week after week. a as we told you yesterday on "today in the bay", simpson is speaking out with t"the associated press" saying his life is fine and he is just trying to stay positive. governor newsom is the newest voice to call for a hold at the santa anita racetrack. the governor issued a statement calling for a temporary ban until horses can be evaluated by independent veterinarians.
