longer commute? mike? >> yeah. a lot of friends moved out. i know friends commuting from stockton and down on 5, may encounter typical slowing. not lit up red but orange. talk more about that as i remind you around the bay looking at green sensors. west 580. not at slow through the altamont but a slowing crash in this year. back to you. breaking now, bay area fire crews on the scene of a fast-moving brush fire in stanislav county. 500 acres burned in the foothills west of patterson, on the other side of mount hamilton. calmed the rock fire. 9:30 last night, the fire scorched 30 acres. looking at pictures there. that number exploded in the last few hours. right now zero kant money. firefighters from morgan hill are there.

we'll have a live report at 5:30. developing news. sources telling us a disgruntle employee shot and killed two people before turning the gun on himself. it happened at the ford dealership in morgan hill. a story leaving the town shaken this morning. "today in the bay" is live for us with what police tell us this hour. >> reporter: mark, a heartbreaked story at this ford dealership in morgan hill. police spent the night investigating the shooting that left three people dead including the gunman. we know it unfolded inside the service center, inside offices you can see behind me here. we know shots were fired around 6:00 last dealershdeale dealership. officers when first getting here found a man on the ground had apparently shot himself. had a gun in his hand. inside the officers found two other men, and police believe the shooter was a former employee fired earlier in the day yesterday. one man working at the

dealership, he explained what he heard leading up to the shooting. >> came downstairs and said i just fired him. he won't leave the premises. should i be worried? what should we do? wondering, call authorities, whatever. at that point somebody asked, w? somebody said, yeah. he's got a history with guns. so -- not ten minutes later we heard gunshots. >> reporter: you can imagine how frightening for people inside who ran from the building once they heard the gunfire. others came here at the scene, out here hugging. we're hoping to learn more about the investigation throughout the morning. in the next hour you'll hear from another witness on-scene and heard everything. hear what he had to say about one of the possible victims. for now live in morgan hill. >> thanks for that report. our crews were first on the scene there, our own laura garcia quickly did a facebook

were stolen from arizona two years ago and a record search shows the gunman was felon. he was reportedly originally from vietnam and angry about his wife's relatives being able to immigrate to the u.s. while he was unable to sponsor his own relatives. the gunman killed four people including his wife's brother and sister before killing himself. the family of a man shot and killed during a police case in cont danville timed a suit claiming the officer who killed the man did so without prauv o provocation. he was shot after accelerating

towards police during the chase. deciding to dig deeper into a plan of development allowing it to move forward. they want to build 2,400 homes mostly for seniors. this is video we want to show you from last night's meeting. that's when the council voted unanimously to order a report on the project to be completed within one month's time. the report will examine the impact on schools and public safety. if members sign off on the report a special election this fall would determine the measure. some relief for san francisco muni riders now that the new trains are reportedly back on track. muni forced to repair it's newest cars when passengers got their hands caught in doors twice over the last three months. one woman dragged and to the track suffered multiple injuris. an investigation revealed the

san rafael all clear there. probably stepping out of the door feeling cooler air and breezy winds. the morning commute from antioch starts in the low to mid-60s. a mild start to the day after it was pretty hot yesterday. tote not at hot and the cooling trend is under way. the seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen as we see temperatures throughout the morning climbing into the low 70s by 11:00. we'll see the high temperatures today much lower than yesterday. look at this. 70s everywhere. except for a few spots that will make it in to the low 80s, like morgan hill reaching 80 degrees. elsewhere, 60s and 70s. in france today, expect a high of 64 degrees. we are all clear taking a live look outside in san jose. as you look out the window, getting es jacket. today before you take it off. maybe wear short leaves under that.

ty out there. here's the weather setup. an area of low pressure across the pacific northwest that's been slow to move. actually, as we go into the rest of the week, it's going to provide an ocean breeze. none shore wind flow keeping temperatures cooler. in the 70s. a few low 80s going into the weekend. next week high pressure tries to nudge in but another system behind that keeping it cool, even extending into the fourth of july. this is looking like a great weather pattern and a setup here going into next week for the last week of june, early july, we're going to keep it cooler than normal for most of our days, in the seven-day forecast. mike, tracking crews on the move in palo auto. >> i did. moving past the university continuing down towards embarcadero. exit from the southbound side. northbound saw the last of the crews clearing. continuing to back away clearing the cones. all open now from embarcadero to

university and no slowing now there. slowing around the bay expressway and towards willow. typical slight build from the east bay. just slight. everything looks great for the green sensors. up towards conta costa county. pittsburg and the walnut creek interchange. and down to 580 clear. no incidents reported on the bay bridge toll plaza. slowing, of course, cash players have to wait to pay their cash and we're thankful they do. everybody paying a toll to keep that bridge in good shape. and out of the altamont, mild traffic, once you past greenville, it's clear. back to you. >> thanks, mike. and sharing a heartbreaking story hoping it can save other pet owners from the wane she's experiencing. coyotes grabbed her dog nearly a week ago in front of the family's home. investigators found only the dog's head in glen park on monday. news is devastating for the

smoke. k.c. barbecue has been a part of the city half a century and some meat cooked outside in the smoker. neighbors complaining that smoke is coming out so thick it makes them cough and even gets into their homes. the neighbors we spoke with didn't want to go on-camera saying they've been getting back-lash on social media because of the backlash. >> i wouldn't say they don't smell it. not as bad as they say it is. >> the question, is the smoke from the restaurant creating such a nuisance to neighbors it's above and beyond what's reasonable. >> the restaurant did get the clear from the city, and neighbors are saying that they do want the business to succeed. city leader planned a mediation for next month involving the restaurant and the neighbors. it was moving sight at last night's giants' game. the catcher handed out gloves to needy kids before the game providing by the giants community fund. as for the game, mad madison

bumgarner pitched and they beat the yankees 4-2. and in combination with telemundo and the make-a-wish foundation for a special teleth telethon. we spoke with donors all day yesterday. more than 1.2 million air miles donated. one man donated 175,000 mime m alone. see right here we actually helped raise $3,400. that's great. thank you all so much for that. all of that goes to the children to make their wishes come true. great to see so many in the studio coming out. >> great to see our team out there, answering phones, talking to the community. >> yep. give yourselves a round of applause this morning.
