upper 60s at 11:00 and then going to see the highs in the mid-70s again today, and even just a couple degrees cooler than yesterday afternoon. we will take a look ahead to the weekend coming up. mike, you are starting out in palo alto. >> we will show the crews, past university, down to just one lane. it's right about here where you see the words palo alto. we have crews all over the bay, and you may find traffic breaks. they are warning about smoke and that's one of our top stories. speaking of highway 4, firefighters are watching for hot spots after a small brushfire in contra costa county. it started about 1:00 on the eastbound side of 4.

peninsula and 70s. staying in the lower 60s is san francisco. at times the fog rolling across the city but you will get a little sunshine, too. novato reaching 70 degrees, and still coming in from the ocean giving us that natural air-conditioning. it's a pretty brisk wind, so at times it's feeling windy out there and the winds kicking around throughout the evening as well, at about 15 to 20 miles per hour. we well to the north ofill bringin even going into the weekend we still keep our ocean breeze, but slightly warmer temperatures. behind that is another area of low pressure that will keep us cool in time for the fourth of july. look at the 7-day forecast. we will be in 70s and low 80s. san francisco is staying in the 60s with, once again, clouds and

fog. a live shot shows you the freeway here 101 is clearing up, but there was a bundle of lawn clippings or tree trimmings, but it cleared 101. that just cleared the chp report and we have not seen any slowing there. the rest of the bay, you have good speeds as well. the altamont pass, a little slowing and then clear for westbound 580. we do see the pronounced slowing right there. a disabled vehicle or fender-bender somewhere across the upper deck of the richmond and san rafael bridge, and we'll track that as well. there's a light backup at the bay bridge. a forme of southern california gynecologist is now in police custody accused

of sexually assaulting 16 women. >> yesterday police arrested this man right here, the 71-year-old george tindle. prosecutors say the victims were abused at the campus health clinic. new details this morning in a series of north bay attacks, and it says it started with dates with the victims set up on line. three teens are accused of shooting and robbing men, and investigators say an 18-year-old worked with two others and that they shot and robbed at least two men several months apart. investigators got their break from a neighbor's home camera
