more increases to report this morning if you )re taking mass transit around the bay: starting today fares are going up if you don )t use a clipper card. for muni riders who pay cash .. a single fare now costs 3-dollars instead of $2.75. that )s in part to speed up service. clipper card users still pay $2.50. the same thing for a-c transit: local single rides for cash- payers will go up 25-cents to $2.50. single ride fares for clipper

card holders will stay at $2.25. happening today- it )s going to cost you more to drive across the golden gate bridge. here )s a live look: fastrak fees will go up by 35 cents! and pay-as-you-go will be 20 cents more! the toll rate is still the lowest for fastrak drivers.. so you )ll want to use that pass. the tolls will continue to increase each year by the same amount until 20-24. it )s part of a five year plan o improve public transportation. in alameda county- leaders in piedmont are expected to decide tonight on a plan to add more license plate readers. if approved .. the devices would go up at four new locations. the ordinance also calls for replacing an existing camera at another location. piedmont currently has 39 readers positioned at 15 intersections and entry points. other bay area cities already approved similar cameras. happening today: the only road in yosemite that goes over the sierra .. is set

to finally reopen with no restrictions. tioga road has been open again - with restrictions - for the past two-plus weeks. as of today .. the road )s visitor services - including restrooms also reopen. and later this month the park expects to gradually reopen lodging, a store, and campgrounds. most years .. tioga road has fully reopened by now. but this winter saw a lot more snow. -toss to kari- trying to save you some time...

fremont avenue. ac transit, greyhound and west cat links will begin in the late summer. all lanes of southbound 101 are open in san jose after a crash involving several cars including one car that rolled over and another that caught on fire. the crash happened 1:00 a.m. on tully road. amazingly, no one in any of the cars sustained any major injuries. one person was arrested for driving under the influence at the scene. five people are still recovering after a deadly crash over the weekend in orinda. two people were killed. this was the scene early sunday morning, a mangled mess of cars on highway 24 in orinda near the caldecott tunnel. the chp says two cars crashed head-on after one of the drivers was going on the wrong side of the highway. police say the wrong-way driver /22'r$ñ have played a role in his crash. 6:44 light now 37

two rocks painted to honor a fallen sacramento police officer from the bay area have now reportedly been restored. someone recently painted over them in an act many found offensive. original who are to honor officer tara o'sullivan who was shot and killed june 19th. someone then painted over the rocks and took down the wreath and flags. o'sullivan died responding to a domestic violence call. "the sacramento bee" reports two boys over the weekend repainted the rocks, with message of support for o'sullivan and officers. closing arguments are scheduled to begin today in the trial of a navy s.e.a.l. accused of war crimes. special operations chief edward gallagher is accused of killing diego and answers to charges of murder and attempted murder. nearly a dozen fellow s.e.a.l.s

testified during the trial. dramatic protests today on the streets of hong kong. at one point, protesters tried to break into the hong kong legislature. a crowd of people have been repeatedly slamming a glass panel door. a live look where protesters remain heavily on the streets, along with protesting a proposed china extradition measure, demonstrators are protesting the 22nd anniversary of the handover of hong kong to china. turning now to decision 2020, california senator kamala harris is doing in the jumping up in the polls. this is after shining during last week's debates. harris took to the stage not holding back after going after front-runner former vice president joe biden. the latest numbers taken right after the debate asked democratic primary voters who their first choice for president. joe biden is still in the lead with 33%. senator bernie sanders is second harris is tied in third with 12%

along with senator elizabeth warren. lifeguards in and around san diego are warning beach goers to be aware of sting rays. swimmers are seeing higher numbers of sting rays around san diego because the water is usually warmer in that area right now. one surfer had quite a day yesterday, he says he stood up for the first time ever on a surfboard and also took a painful pop when a sting ray stung him and he ended up soaking his foot in hot water for about an hour. >> i'm sure it wasn't a shark because i still have my foot and when i came in, i saw it was bleeding. somebody pointed out it's probably a sting ray and i realized you're probably right, there's a single puncture in my foot. >> ouch. that same surfer you saw there, he says it won't stop him from surfing and riding the waves because rays tend to hide in the sand when they hunt. experts recommend shuffling your feet through the sand to avoid

the clouds hovering over the going goigo i golden gate bridge. marine layer 1500 feet. at times we see drizzle and cooler air along with the gusty winds. if you're about to head to diridon station, it's going to be a cool one, with some mid-50s. we'll be at 66 degrees at 10:00 and then some mid-70s by early afternoon. that's a look at our sunrise this morning over the south bay. that's what you're seeing out the window as you get dressed. grab a jacket because of those mid-50s, but then a t-shirt later on today. check out the seven-day forecast, already up at the bottom of the screen, as we look at our high temperatures for today, we'll be in the low to mid 80s in much of the north bay from ukiah to santa rosa. napa reaching 75. we'll see a high of 86 at antioch, san jose tops out at 78 and oakland today looking at a high of 67 degrees. so our weather pattern will not change as we go throughout the week. we have high pressure still well to the west of us, and it's

giving us a veryd wind flow. as we go into the fourth of july, we're still not going to see any changes, but then the weekend, that's when we start to get a little bit warmer, as that high pressure gives us much more of a northerly wind, we'll also see an approaching storm system for the pacific northwest, and we'll have to see if that brings them even more rain, but we are going to keep it dry. here is a look at our temperatures over the next several days, upper 70s for today and tomorrow. 80 degrees on wednesday, and check out the fourth, it really doesn't get any better than that, and then as we look at the weekend, some mid 80s, while san francisco stays in the 60s. headed over to mike, you're still focused on the bay bridge. >> kari, first it was because of the crash on the span and the big backup at the toll plaza, that crash cleared, the last half hour is good in recovery and we@c'÷ traffic flowing a little lighter for the fastrak lanes, partially because of the good news on the span itself but also on the approach we had two

crashes reported one at the shore-lñf]d;sñ freeway and anot 580 coming toward the same little bit of the early part of the maze and so those combined which looked like they're cleared to the shoulder, caused more backup and alleviating easing up traffic over on the bay bridge. causing a little more slowing as you head through berkeley westbound 80 again looks like it may be in recovery mode from about golden gate field out of richmond past golden gate field is the slowest section there. build for oakland, nothing major but 880 shows slowing coming out of san leandro and in toward downtown oakland. a crash to the shoulder south 880 at industrial, slows you around that 92 interchange, but still traffic flows smoothly to and past the san mateo bridge. westbound dumbarton bridge easy, light drive. south bay just starting the build for northbound routes and that's what we expect this week, as a lot of folks, fewer folks headed to work, a lot of folks finding alternate means of working or perhaps vacation days. over here we're looking at the san mateo bridge. we did see a little more traffic avoiding the bay bridge but i think it's starting to thin out

the social media network says it will examine posts with the same scrutiny it gives elections. it is concerned that that census bureau have been asking tech companies to set up their fight and step it up against that false information. this week, hundreds of dogs at the oakland animal shelter and the east bay spca will be moved to a quarantine off site facility because of an outbreak of k9 influenza. the dogs will be quarantined and unable to be adopted for four to six weeks so the pet road express is launching an emergency food drive to feed the dogs so they can find their forever home. it along with nutri source dog food will match every bag of donated food. that means every bag donated the quarantine shelter gets three. 6:57. this morning, an oroville dam is
