congress nbc's gabe gutierrez is in clint, texas he is at the border patrol station visited by members of congress on monday it's one of the dozens of facilities along the southwest border gabe, good morning to you. >> reporter: craig, good morning. this is the border patrol station that has drawn international attention. when we visited last week, border patrol agents here pushed back hard on the idea that they were mistreating migrants, but now some members of congress are seizing on it as we learn about new disturbing comments on a private facebook page. this morning the battle at the border is heating up anti-immigrant protesters outside the troubled border patrol station in clint, texas, and members of the congressional hispanic caucus, all democrats touring several migrant detention centers tweeting out this picture and video, even though they were told not to bring in phones. congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez calling conditions unconscionab unconscionable she heard from a woman that

border agents told her to drink from a toilet. >> this is them on their best behavior, and they put them in a room with no running water and these women were being told by cbp officers to drink out of the toilet >> border officials later pushing back calling the accusations completely untrue adding there are ample supplies. the latest flash point in the immigration debate, a bomb she report by propublica detailing a private border patrol facebook group making crude jokes about throwing burritos at members of congress and a meme depicting sex acts involving migrants. nbc news has not independently verified this facebook group and has not seen the facebook posts. >> that was a vulgar, disgusting and vile page. >> reporter: in a written statement, customs and border protection calls the posts completely inappropriate, adding any employees found to have violated our standards of conduct will be held accountable. >> i don't know what they're saying about members of congress i know that the border patrol is

more protests are planned at congressional offices across the country for later today calling for the closure of migrant detention centers. craig. >> gabe gutierrez along the border in clint, texas, thank you. ntsb investigators are on the scene of that deadly plane crash near dallas trying to determine why the small private aircraft went down in a fire ball moments after takeoff nbc's ga dee schwartz is here with the latest on the investigation. >> those investigators sifting through what's left of that turbo prop plane, but they're faced with a huge obstacle, much of the evidence was incinerated upon impact. >> this morning ntsb investigators are combing through charred wreckage searching for clues that could explain what caused a small plane to crash right after takeoff and burst into flames. all ten people on board were killed, two pilots and eight passengers when the plane hit a hangar sunday morning in addison, texas, near dallas. investigators describe the final

moments of the twin engine beach craft as seen in this nbc news animation saying after it became airborne it veered to the left of the runway and started rolling over before slamming into the hangar. airport security cameras captured it all, but the ntsb says what went wrong is still a mystery. >> the communication seemed to be completely normal in other words, the pilots were cleared for takeoff. they acknowledged takeoff, and at this point we are not aware of any further communication between the crew and air traffic control. >> reporter: witness david snell, a pilot himself says he knew immediately something wasn't right. >> it just appeared as though it was flying too slow and not making enough power, and the friend that was with me, we're both pilots and have been for years, and we looked at each other like something's wrong. >> reporter: officials releasing the names of several of those who perished nlkding the managing director of a prominent real estate company, and a family of four, restaurant owner brian ellard and his wife and two teenagers and one of the

stories about the availability of a button down, i thought it sounded like a 40s radio drama combined with a bad charles cur ralt, and so he became this legend in his own mind do you have any idea what happens to a butter baste frosting after six decades in a poorly ventilated basement i have a feeling what you're about to go through may be punishment. >> you've still got the line. >> i was thinking it right along with you >> what was it like for you as an actor at the time you came on the show when "seinfeld" was big, it was "seinfeld" at that point was it intimidating? was it nerve-racking or were they welcoming ask you slid right into this character? >> two observations. one, you knew you were in st. peter's cathedral. you had a sense of reverence that this was something special, but it was special because it was a different format of comedy that's my second observation it wasn't joke funny i'd been used to sitcoms that was like joke joke joke joke joke payoff, set the joke up pay it off

that's not what this was about in fact, i called my manager after the first table read and i said this show's not funny how is this the number one show in television. what i found out is it's not joke funny you go through a script, there's not one joke in there. the scene is funny you play the scene honestly for the intention that they wrote and you stack the scenes together and it's funny. >> and it all ties together. >> it all weaves together, and that was the genius of the writing. >> we were just talking about the legs of this show, because of syndication, your younger children, my younger children now opening their eyes to "seinfeld," and it's going to last another generation from here. >> it's amazing. the comedy is just about the minutia. as i say, they were mining the minutia of life, and that's really what it is. they just took normal stuff and pulled it apart until there wasn't anything left that's the joy of it, and it gives it the longevity, too. we'll be watching this -- i said to the extras on the j. peterman set. i said save the script, make notes, everything.

tournaments and playing a lot of golf, and i was constantly playing sports so without them, you know, i wouldn't be sitting here today that's for sure. >> nate, how do you deal with so much loss and keep going and go on to do what you do this weekend? >> you know, i just kept pushing myself, just tried to stay positive at times, which was not easy to do for a lot of years, but you know, i felt like i kept getting better and better at golf and i knew i could get out here and compete on the pga tour, so i just kept my, you know, head down to the grind and kept at it >> i mean, golf is such a mental game i'm wondering what your mind-set was, because you found out the day before this tournament that you were the alternate, so i mean, how do you get your mind right to all of a sudden go in and play as well as you did? >> you know, getting in as an alternate was a relief really. you know, i thought i might end up being first alternate and kind of finding out late tuesday and wednesday of getting the call to guarantee that i was in

the event, it was a big relief getting in and i was just happy to be in the tournament. i was playing well, so going in i thought i could play well. my goal was to finish -- >> playing well is an understatement i'm here -- let's break down the golf for a second here, all right? >> all right >> nate, you were less than ten feet from the hole on 22 out of 28 of your birdies over the weekend. you also have the best par 4 performance in the pga tour this year you were 14 under on the par 4s. your iron play is incredible this isn't just a great emotional story. this about a great golfer emerging on tour you've never been in new york, you're here now. you've never been in europe, you're going there in two weeks. are you going into that, a i'm just happy to be there b i just want to make the cut, or c, i can win this thing >> well, i mean, really i'm just going to go into it, i want to play well. you know, you try not to think about winning. i'm just going to try to keep it the same way i took last week and take it one shot at a time and see what happens at the end of the week.

that's going to let the beer soak in. it's going to give the hot dogs a nice char when you grill them. so put them in the beer. >> this is something my mom did when i was growing up. i've carried it over ever since. any beer, darker beer is usually better. >> carson makes the best hot dogs and i swear it's because of that next we're going to grill up some toppings and make them in foil, cook them in foil on the grill so it makes cleanup a breeze onions, peppers, mushrooms, drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper where's my red, white and bourbon? >> i've got it here. >> you work on the dogs over there. >> this is a dog shot, too, if you want to go ahead and do this. >> don't do that >> i mean, the dogs, got the beer that's delicious, how dare you. >> take the short side and fold and then the long sides and fold and make sure you have a little bit of space so that the veggies will vent.
