we're going to see temperatures all over the bay area in the 80s. mike, you were looking for a big rig. >> i was, but thankfully i didn't find it. now we look at the camera westbound 80 at powell. you see denny's across the way. the big rig was reported on the shoulder there waiting for a tow truck but i don't see it. gary works with us,o ctrol the looked up and down and couldn't find it. pittsburg, bay point, brentwood moving smoothly for the early commutes that start over there. no delays for the south bay or peninsula. there is fog at the golden gate bridge, to be sure. back to you. >> thank you so much, mike. at 4:31. developing this morning, a woman is in custody after police say she ran a red light triggering an accident that killed a man, critically injuring his wife.

it happened in the tenderloin near union square. a video shows police walking out of a hotel with a woman in handcuffs. she was driving a tesla, she blew through a red light, striking another car that then struck the victims in the crosswalk. >> a mini cooper traveling eastbound had the green light. made contact with a tesla as it ran the red light, causing the vehicle to hit two pedestrians in the crosswalk. >> the man who died has been identified as benjamin dean from clovis. the driver rented the tesla from getaround. getaround was started in 2009, headquarters in san francisco. verified drivers rent cars that are not being used in remote lock accessed by their phone. the company partnered with the sfmta as part of their car sharing pilot project. sharon katsuda will have a full report at the top of the hour. a motorcyclist struck a car a

little after midnight. a pickup truck came by, striking and killing the motorcyclist as he was on the ground. friends are in shock. >> he was the nicest guy i ever met, funny. never judged people, he was kind. he liked to have fun but he'd never drink and drive on his bike, never. we're going to miss him. >> the victim lived in clayton near the scene of the accident. police have not provided a more detailed description of the truck. a new report reveals i.c.e. used oakland airport for years to deport people despite the sanctuary city status. the bay area news group uncovered the information from an i.c.e. database. over the last nine years i.c.e. used the charter air. in those nine years 27,000

people were deported. i.c.e. ended the practice last october. oakland leaders have not said if they knew about the flights. our pete suratos is following that story and will have more in our 5:00 hour. 4:34. happening today, immigration issues werillhen bay area congrn anna eshoo holds a town hall in the south bay. she returned from a visit to two detention centers on the texas border. she met with immigrant families and volunteers. that town hall takes place at 6:30 at the mountain view community center. an east bay deli owner receiving backlash. >> the deli owner is firing back at critics and as christie smith shows us, he's getting some support. >> reporter: this was the post on the personal facebook page of john canesa. meatballs made with beef today in case we offended any of our overly sensitive pork haters. free side when you say "send her

back." the clayton deli wasn't open but people had opinions. >> it sounds racist to me from what >> reporter: others shared with us their continued support for the business and owner. >> i just think people need to chill out. a jokingly way and you know, i think people are just way too sensitive and this is getting overblown. >> reporter: it comes in a climate where president trump tweeted four congresswoman of color and a crowd at a trump rally chanted "send her back" about kongwoman ilhan omar. negative yelp reviews popped up saying it was divisive, racist. some called for a boycott of the rest. khanesa briefly put up a post in response to the uproar. >> as for the "send her back" comment, harsh? yes. but however, it's my first amendment right, freedom of

speech. >> reporter: he said he believed it was a smear campaign and added this. >> i apologize to my family, and those closest to me, and shame on you to all who blew this out of proportion. >> reporter: on facebook, the group east bay human rights advocates said they strongly condemn the comments and asked that he apologize for his hateful message. the mayor weighed in, too, saying "we all have rights to our own political, religious and other opinions, we have a right to post about them. however, there is no place in our community for hatred and bigotry." christie smith, "nbc bay area news." follow-up to a story breaking news last night, another fire in san francisco's mclaren park. "the chronicle" says this is the sixth fire in the park over the last two weeks. last night's fire started around 5:30, burned six acres and like other fires no, structured damaged and the cause is not known.

no lingering effects from a broken water main on busy contra costa boulevard. crews in pleasant hill spent much of yesterday fixing that break. it happened early next morning north of crescent plaza. they had to rip up and then repair a segment of the road. the roadway reopened late last night. a new type of freeway interchange will soon roll out in california that may take some it's called diverging diamond. this is animation video showing just how it works. drivers veer at a 45-degree angle across the center divide and then switch sides with opposing traffic between on and off ramps. there' adyne under construction in san joaquin county on highway 120 that should open next year. caltrans is considering the same design for the ashby design interchange in berkeley. bob redell is looking into what drivers might expect, join us with a live report in our 5:00 a.m. hour. new details on 6,000 square

times some fog right see it starting to move out by this evening, and then roll right back in during the ov atgh time san francisco, while the inland areas are going to be all clear today. so as we check out your morning commute in antioch, expect those temperatures at about 65 degrees at 6:00, and then going to see it in the lower 80s already before we reach the lunch hour, so it's going to be a hot day, as we go through all of our microclimates, we're seeing at 12:30, it's at 84 degrees in concord. fremont at 77 degrees, and 76 in palo alto. going through the rest of the day, we're going to see some spots hitting the low 90s. look at fairfield, 91 degrees at 4:00 today, and then going to see some mid 80s for san francisco, rather for san jose. we're going to stay in the 60s in san francisco, and then cool down tonight. going through the next couple of days, we'll see some changes here that we don't always see.

we'll start to get a surge of some monsoonal moisture that could bring in some more clouds and even some thunder for parts of the sierra. we're still going to see the fog and also see an increase in cloud cover as we go to tomorrow as well as wednesday, before it dries out once again, and it gets really hot. so looking at our temperatures for the inland areas, we have some low 90s today, and then a few more clouds once again tomorrow so that's going to bring down those temperatures into the upper 80s, and then it's going to be really hot by midweek, reaching up to 94 degrees in some of the valleys, while san francisco will stay in the 60s, i should say 68 degrees today, and then some low 70s headed through the middle of the week. i'll fix that graphic, mike, but nothing major on the roads. >> that's fine. you know what? 8 degrees would be okay. no, it wouldn't. looking most of the roadways are green. little blips move here and there as crews move the sensors.

smooth drive out of the altamont pass. dublin interchange nice. contra costa county at speed pretty much. a little slowing shows up around pa low in berkeley. we had an earlier issue with ann the area. i'll double check with our live camera and see if we can find any other carrived. we have a crash reported in the north bay, southbound 101, around sir francis drake. no lane information but i can tell you south of there the go gt of glow. low clouds and let's call that fog just for safety sake. treat it as if that is the case. not many lights here but there is a glow. we have less glow but more lights here at the bay bridge toll plaza. the cash lanes are backed up right now but notice over here and over there, either side of the fastrak lanes you have one lane yet to open. no delays for mass transit, great start. back to you. >> mike, thank you much. pulled from his home, beaten and wrongly arrested what a palo alto man said happened to him last year. >> stephen stock obtained

surveillance video raising questions about bias and excessive force at the hands of some palo alto police officers. >> this is the video from the surveillance camera of gustaveo alvarez living in the buena vista park. he's had alto pd before a knocking. february of lt captured when an contacted alvarez in front of his home, accusing him o suspen license. alvarez then goes inside and shuts the door. that officer calls for backup. they order alvarez to come out of his home, and then this happens. >> you think you're a tough guy now? >> everything about this incident, from the hollering, the yelling, the violence, the use of force, every bit of it was bad. >> reporter: that's retired judge and former san jose independent police auditor ledores cordell. she's calling for swift action from palo alto's police chief.
