and it's designed to be a, quote, controlled environment in which they can communicate with trends. the app is supposed to allow communication with people who have been vetted and approved by parents. but the website reports there's a flaw in the app that allows kids to enter group chat with strangers. people who the parents did not approve. they report that facebook has quietly shut down the chat rooms and alerted parents of the technical flaw that allowed their children's friends to start a group chat and invite other people that are authorized with them but not their friends. facebook has had problems when it comes to user privacy. the federal trade commission approved a roughly $5 billion settlement for its role in the cambridge analytic scandal. bob redell, today in the bay. peninsula.night, video of the t two juveniles are now in

the stolen car that was spotted in san jose around 2:30 in the morning. that car led police on a chase that went up to speeds up to 100 miles at one point. it finally ended on middlefield. this is about 40 minutes ago. the juvenile faces felony charges of evading and driving a stolen vehicle. another freeway shooting in the bay area. the latest happening last night on 880 south of 98th avenue in oakland. a man in a dark sedan opened fire. they are expected to be okay. traffic was backed up for miles frustrating many drivers. >> it felt like you could dwet out and walk easier, but you can't. >> no arrests have been made, but the suspect is a man in thiz 30s or 40sonnues far

today will deal with all the heat. >> it's going to be so hot this week. at least we're not talking about widespread triple digits here, but still some mid- to upper 90s is where we're headed today. as you get ready to head out the door, a lot of people enjoying the nice, cool start to the morning. or maybe not just heading to e all clear skies. let's get you out the door with a look at your morning and how it will shape up with some clear skies. it will be a mild start with some mid-60s. we'll be at 70 degrees at 8:00. the warm-up happens fast. we're at 81 degrees. here's a look at the south bay high temperatures. here we are in the 90s. woor seeing morgan hill. upper 80s for east san jose. for the east bay, pittsburgh topped out at 93 degrees. we'll see upper 70 nz heyward. expect a high of 64, but we'll be up to 83 in pa lo al to.

most of san francisco staying in the 60s. expect some low 90s today with some upper 80s for much of the rest of the north bay. after getting started this morning, mostly clear skies. we will see a lot of sunshine this afternoon. kind of filtered by high clouds. but if you can, make it a pool day. we see the desert southwest. high pressure building up there producing monsoonal moisture to move into parts of the sierra. we had a lot of rain there yesterday. so the same thing could happen again today. just a little more cloud cover for us and the fog near the coast. and no major changes through the week. it's going to be really hot in the valleys. look at how hot it gets by the wnld. we'll be in the 90s tomorrow. temperatures then and then on the weekend with high temperatures back to the 90s.
