new overnight, an east bay interchange is open again after a deadly crash involving a big rig. this happened just before 11:00 last night on the ramp connecting eastbound 580 to southbound 580 in pleasanton. the crash involves several cars, and one person died at the scene and at this point it's not clear what led to that accident. two popular gyms are in the middle of a controversy, and some people quitting their memberships. >> the chairman of equinox is a supporter of president trump, and today in the bay's ian colt is following that. >> backlashing san francisco and around the country towards gyms. >> we are asking soulcycle members to cancel their members if they can.

big comeback of the year. stocks were up sharply yesterday after several banks cut interest rates. the markets did recover late in the day. instagram removed one of the marketing partners after reports discovered it secretly has been gathering data from the users. the data could be used by the firm's clients to target people inst ads. ram, and this is yet anothrivacy related issue for facebook which, of course, owns instagram. netflix may have lost some battles, but it's still playing the long game. they will write and produce exclusive shows.

coming up, kari has a look at the forecast. >> we are going to start out with clear skies and cool temperatures, and santa teresa headed into the upper 60s as we head throughout the morning. this backup over a mile and building, and multiple vehicles on fire, one person dead, and multiple injuries as a result of this crash shutting down almost all of highway 101 into the south bay. we will have details on what happened here.

into san jose. >> these are just astonishing. >> we see in this picture, you guys, if i may step in, you have four vehicles you can see and one of them by the firefighter in the middle, folks, and this will be odd for you to see me here, and this vehicle is upsidedown and the other three that were engulfed in flames at one point because of the charred remains there, they are also involved, but the detail that came in from chp, one vehicle hit the center divide and flipped over and presumably that's thet died in the crash, and one person just walked away from the scene. this was the scene causing the entire shutdown of 101. bob redell continues to gather information. and they are hedging over towards the shoulder of northbound 101. you see the backup here for a

distance, over a mile and building as folks come up on the scene, just shy of 85, and you see there's going to be a lot of cleanup and of course an investigation. on the map it looks short as far as the backup goes, and it is just this one section that seems like not a big doesn't leavef-n bailey, and that's a good way back. this will affect folks not only coming into san jose from that portion of south san jose, but also from morgan hill. remember, the early build right here between san martin and morgan hill starts at 6:15, 6:30, that's when we see speeds slowing down, and that volume of traffic is bound to already be built-up coming into this area, so if this takes just an hour half to two hours, that's going to be a problem for the entire

county. we get back out to the rest of the map and aside from the area coming into san jose out of morgan hill, everything else moving smoothly and we have the folks in the lanes, and it looks back, but it's standard just before 5:00 at the bay bridge. for the weather department, everything is looking nice and quiet. we are starting out with fog in san francisco, and it's continuing to stick around in the city throughout much of the day. we will start to see the sun breaking out around 9:00, and our temperatures staying in the 60s throughout the morning. as we check out the south bay high temperatures, we're cooling down and this will be one of the coolest days of the week. normally in san jose we are at 82 degrees, but we are staying at about 78 downtown.

gilroy, a high of 82. and east bay temperatures up to a high of 83 in concord and 69 in hayward. as we look at san mateo, 71 degrees there, and other 70s for palo alto, and san francisco in the 60s, and the north bay from 59 to 87 in clear lake. a wide range of temperatures and lots of sunshine. we have seen a lot of storms firing up over the sierra, and we are still looking out for the potential that we could see some rain this weekend further to the north, and as we get a closer look we see the storm systemmois time of year seeing something like that, and it could bring in spotty showers to the north bay ontu moving in and out fairly quickly. we will keep an eye on that as we look into the rest of the forecast. by the weekend, it's sunday, clearing out and heating up. we have upper 90s in the forecast for the beginning of next week.

representative claiming their power would get disconnected in 30 minutes due to a pending balance on the account. he instructed them to call the direct billing department and 888 number to avoid disconnection in 30 minutes, and that didn't sound right to judy, so they alerted us, and we alerted pg&e and they said it's a scam, tricking people into handing over credit card information. they said real payment problems are addressed by male, with 15 days notice before shutoff and not 30 minutes. if you get this call hang up and report it to pg&e, or call us or
