weeks to act now, on gun legislation, this is contentious. republicans say they're waiting on president trump t sn. ene talking with lawmakers over the last several weeks and could unveil a gun safety legislation proposal in the next week or so. democrats are pushing on the senate to push already bills that have already been passed by the house to strengthen background checks on gun purchases. now on immigration, the president has diverted about $3.6 billion from pentagon projects to build about 175 miles of border fencing. congress could pass legislation to stop that, but there is a bigger push right now by house democrats looming on an impeachment inquiry. house judiciary committee, phillip; could vote this week, as early as wednesday, on defining the impeachment inquiry that is just a step, but it will be the first actual vote, a recorded vote on an impeachment process. back to you, phillip.

sights and sounds in hong kong over the weekend the protesters are appealing to president trump, and even mike pence, the vice president, they were holding pictures of the two of them at this march. and they're trying to get thome be harsher on beijing, to try to push their agenda here, which is asking for more independence and democracy. the demands have changed since this all started three months ago. the genesis of this was an extradition bill that could have seen people arrest heard in hong kong extradited to the mainland for trial and maybe even to serve their sentences. now that bill has been withdrawn, and these protests are still going very, very strongly they want the u.s. to pass a bill, a legislation called the hong kong human rights and democracy act that would essentially crack down on anyone in beijing who is seen as impeding on the freedoms of hong kong citizens. they also want to see president trump taking a harder line with beijing on hong kong now so far the president has been reluctant to try to bundle hong kong into his ongoing trade
