the news starts right now. thanks for joining us. i'm terry mcsweeney. >> welcome to this primetime edition of nbc bay area news, following "sunday night football." let's take a live look outside at emeryville, where things look nice and calm at this hour. not emeryville. san francisco and san jose. okay. san francisco and san jose. but the workweek will get off to a hot start. with that, comes high fire damage. rob, what can we expect here? >> this time tomorrow night, we will be under this red flag warning, above 1,000 feet, with low humidity levels, and winds changing direction to dry and offshore. now, around san francisco and the coast, bush in low clouds. it is tomorrow night, where the winds change directions. and the area to watch, will be

lake county, napa county, this is where the strongest wind speeds will be and the lowest humidity levels. so, red flag, high fire damage above here and out towards the west slope of the sierra, where there's the power shutoff watch. so, it's not just the fire danger. but look at a sneak preview of tuesday, high temperatures. we could be talking about 90s bayside and valleys approaching 100 degrees. heat advisories, possible this week. we'll let you know how long the fire dangers and high temperatures last, coming up in our forecast, in 15 minutes. twitter with the latest weather information. follow him for all of your weather information. the red flag warning could impact firefighters trying to contain the 128-acre fire in the milpitas foothills.

>> terry, the fire burning right now here is 70% contained. it will be under a warning tomorrow night. firefighters are racing to achieve full containment before the winds pick up tomorrow night. for a second day, firefighters are battling six stubborn wildfires near calveras boulevard. a red flag warning has been issued for elevations higher than 1,000 feet. from 9:00 tomorrow night until 5:00 wednesday morning. suzanne is concerned about her . be of the east foothills. all of the grass around the houses up there are too many pe land up there. it's sort of lag warning has been issued for sonoma county and east bay hills. some agencies are looking to

increase staffing monday and tuesday, including santa rosa, which plans to add as many as ten engines, and santa clara county, which has two fire engines with six firefighters. that's welcome news to this grandmother, who has been worried about the tinder dry grass. >> the high grass. >> we could see gusts up to 35 miles per hour in the east bay hills tomorrow and higher in napa, increasing the risk of fires raging out of control quickly. santa clara county firefighters say that during this red flag warning, be sure you don't use equipment that might create sparks. also, this is a great time to prepare. get all of your emergency supplies now, just in case there is a major fire. reporting live i area news. with the high fire danger across the region, pg&e is considering shutting off the

power in several years. the in addition to the north bay, it's considering shutting off power in butte, ell d dorado, suser a yuba counties. people that live in those counties are asking to review their emergency plans. pg&e is letling people know through phone calls, text messages, social media and e-mail. 14 a malicious computer virus has been taking hold all weekend. normal for da sergio kin tanquintana is live the administration building. >> city hall is supposed to ep at 8:00 a.m., but tomorrow, it won't open until noon.

ne the city services are affected including finance, planning, building, licensing, permitting. nohere two n administration building here at union city. the yellow one is for residents with city business, eventual l essentially telling them that city hall won't be open until noon tomorrow. there is an all hands on deck meeting to brief them on the i.t. situation. this was a problem first noticed friday night and became more serious saturday morning. so, staff had to reach out for additional resources. >> stay connected with the fbi and the security agencies. that's sort o normal protocol that any municipality or government agency would do, when something like this happens. we want to make sure we're communicating and sharing data and information. >> the city's website is still

online. and there's a notice posted there about this issue. it asks residents to be patient. we will notify customers once systems are back online. we ask that you avoid requesting fees and licenses next week, unless necessary, late fees will be waived. union city is trying to figure out who is behind this malicious attack. might take some time to figure that out. meanwhile, the spokesperson also mentioned that the emergency services are functioning because union city contracts with fremont with its 911 dispatch, police and fire services will respond. live in unionreaws. >> thank you for that report. a man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at san jose state. police say they followed up on tip, and that led them to

joseph. he is facing a long list of charges, including attempted murder. the shooting happened just before 6:30 p.m. on east san fernando street. police say he shot multiple rounds in different directions. some of the bullets hit a parking structure. and themartin luther king jr. prima library. the santa claranty in jail is in a controversy, after inmates had to be taken to the hospital. the sheriff's department says they were transported to that hospital. they're in stable condition tonight. the sheriff's department did not reveal any other details. a bomb scare shut down highway 4 for a time. it started when they responded to a suspicious abandoned car. this, right here, video of that vehicle being loaded on to a tow

truck. investigators believed there could be an explosive device in the car, similar to a pipe bomb. but in the end, they rendered the device safe. it was not a real explosive, but one that looked like one. several seniors are home after an early morning fire in san jose. firefighters say it was on the back porch and spread to the attic. two people were taken to the hospital just to be checked out. president trump issed a midding he had a conversation over the phone about joe biden. >> president trump added new detail about his july phone call with the ukraine president. >> the conversation i had was

patchy low clouds. look how the clouds completely go away. you'll have offshore breezes that will dry out the air and push the marine cloud cover, offshore. for the morning, a taste of summer-like weather, with the low clouds surging around the inner bay and coast. temperatures in the 50s. later this week, low temperatures in the 60s by tomorrow, a bit warmer. mid-80s around san jose. low 90s, starting to warm up. you'll see near 80-degree temperatures. upper 70s to 80s. and san francisco, back into the 70s. so, warmer monday, but hotter weather to follow, as we get into tuesday and wednesday. you see the north bay, back into the 80s and low 90s. the first change we're watching, this time tomorrow night, begins 9:00, monday. will follow through 5:00 a.m.

wednesday. that's the red flag warning for the hills above the north bay and east bay hills. these are the areas to watch. lake county and northern napa county. you'll notice toward sundrise tuesday. look at the forecast high temperatures on tuesday. you're looking at 80s and 90s.r temperatures inland. tuesday and wednesday, not just a fire damage, it's the heat, we'll see to start the week. then, the pattern begins to shift. keep area of low pressure, drops down. that will bring big cooling. but a change in the forecast, will take this low to the east of the seeary a yaar yaar yaary. a chance of showers will stay farther inland. and that will involve any snowshower chances and inland tracking low might mean more wind, as opposed to snow for the sierra. it is a tale of two weeks.

that could be inland for the morning hours. the onshore breeze, which will reers reverse to an onshore wind pattern. morning temperatures will be comfortable. could be starting off in the 60s and 70s in the hills. a look at monday's highs, show 70s and 80s around the bay. starting 9:00 on monday night, all day tuesday, through the north bay and east bay hills, there's that red flag warning, where wind speeds will pick up more noticeably monday into tuesday morning. another episode of gusty winds tuesday night into wednesday. the areas that will be most affected by the dry offshore winds, looks to be, locally, up here in lake county, northern

napa county, most of salon know county. but right now, the only areas of the power shut juf watch, were below 5,000 feet. we will likely see the most sustained and strongest wind gusts. keep an eye on the conditions in the north bay. before sunrise. the winds will pick up. it will be daytime dry, when we get flag and low clouds. low humidity levels, before ntu. look at tuesday's eyes. 70s and 80s. 80s and low 90s. mid to upper 90s inlands. in addition to red flag warnings for the hills, could see heat advisories for inland locations. wednesday, pretty hot. this is a fall pattern, to get the pressure off of shore.
