it's another cold start throughout the day. it's still going to be very nice in the mid to upper 70s. you were looking at that camera for a different reason. >> that's right. you saw the flashing lights on street level. on the right shoulder just north of university. also these cones are blocking off a couple of lanes. so you're funneling between the two areas and you have two lanes. that's why there's periodic slowing overnight. no problems toward the bay bridge. back to you. >> thank you. huge crowds are expected to attend several to be

oiwith a look at all the activi on tap and what city leaders are doing to make sure that safety is a top good morning. it is going to be busy and you're right it is the biggest. preliminary event on sunday with a full day art fair going on. there's a lot in addition to fleet week going on. it starts today at noon. a free event and it draws a lot of people. the castro street fair is all day sunday and the golden state warriors tipoff in style and against the lakers at the chase center tomorrow afternoon. fleet week starts sunday as we said and the city leaders are taking extra precautions to keep everybody safe. up to a million people will head to the city during fleet week over next week and then you add the additional events this weekend and it will be an extremely busy city all around the city all weekend.

>> the district is facing a fair amount of budget cut backs and there's concern that some of the school resource officers could be cut back as a result of these budget changes. >> today in the bay. >> well, the congressman says there's a federal bill that passed in the house and he hopes it will head to the president's desk for a signature. it would provide safety funding for local communities. a man hunt continues in richmond where police are trying to track down a gunman in a deadly triple shooting. two of the victims died and the third is in critical condition. it happens a yterday afternoon. 32nd street and esmond avenue. we talked to the uncle of one of the victims that said his nephew just turned 32. >> what can i say? i can't think. i'm blank. police are not saying what

lead up to that shooting. >> this morning, drivers are concerned about safety after a wrong way crashe dead. the story we brought to you as breaking news yesterday. he killed the taxi driver and his two passengers. this is his picture posted on facebook. the chp says that emily ross of hillsboro hit head on as she drove south in the northbound lanes near paul avenue. she was also killed. investigators say ross was under the influence. >> many times i call the police, i see the signs. >> scared of course because we do this every day. >> the two passengers were justin and mary miller. they were visiting from chicago. the chp says 911 calls near 280 interchange before the crash. g

the freeway heading in the wrong direction. >> it's possible that we'll hear from the san francisco mayor as vacancy in the district attorney's office. yesterday announcing his plans to re-sign. last day will be october 18th. he plans to move to l.a. where he will consider making a run for the same job there. he is not among the candidates in san francisco's current race which plays out next month. so his early departure means he will either have to name a temporary replacement or wait it out and appoint next month's winner a few weeks early. >> california u.s. senators are firing back at the white house after what they call a fishy clean up letter sent to san francisco. the environmental protection agency sent out a notice of violation. the city is contaminating the ocean and the bay and it comes after president trump called san francisco out during a visit

coming up on today in the bay.. >> it suggests the economy is slowing. on today's watch list its all about jobs as we get the monthly employment report before the opening bell. hiring is expected to have been modest last month with unemployment holding at a near five decade low and google has redesigned it's shopping app. google shopping now features a homepage that's more personalized. it will suggest reordering apps that you previously bought. there's also a new price tracker

a warm up in a few spots like napa starts out at 44. it's 58 degrees in brentwood right now and 49 in livermore and in san jose. as you get ready for the drive, we're going to see our temperatures dipping down to 51 degrees around sunrise and starting to warm up for the rest of the day as we head into the upper 70s for many of our inland microclimates. we're going to see a high of 79 degrees in east san jose while gilroy reaches 80 degrees. it's slightly warmer in a few spots like concord reaching 80 degrees. 75 in fremont an palo alto. up to 70 degrees today in the mission district. and the upper 70s in santa rosa as well as nevada. high pressure continues to build we will see a very dry wind coming in from the northeast at about 10 to 20 miles per hour.

we do expect the winds to pick up tomorrow night. increasing our fire danger as we start to see the dry air. the sending into the valley and into the bay area creating a high fire danger mostly for the north bay hills but we'll also have a moderate fire danger for the east bay hills so that once again red flag warning in effect between saturday night and sunday morning. look at how warm it's going to be. we have enjoyed a nice fall-like week but we're going back to summer this weekend. a big spike in our temperatures between saturday and sunday. gradually coming down for the middle of next week. you were hearing about a car explosion in the trivalley. >> look over here. we took a quick look a second ago and it looked just fine here heading toward the dublin interchange and look at the top it's solid and that shouldn't happen. so we're looking at the big jam heading over that dublin bridge.

we had a car fire blocking the right few lanes and got a call saying the vehicle exploded. i don't know if there was an explosion but that fire isn't supposed to be there either so that's the big slow down. you can see the right lanes are blocking just past the interchange. and there's problems and you can see the slow down at the top of the street now creeping back. blocking off some lanes as you approach it keep that in mind. back to you. >> thank you. 4:51 right now. a man charged with robbing a string entered a guilty plea.

he was charged in april at a hospital where his wife was giving birth. he spread out across a number of bay area cities as well as in roseville and south lake tahoe. prosecutors say he stole more than $69,000 over a year starting in march of 2018. one year after his death they're coming together to remember a man killed in a tazita tazing incident. theuty said he initially approached him for jaywalking but that he would not comply with orde the hospital. last night's memorial helped the community remember a police legacy. >> this was the place.

he has not gotten justice. >> since his death the family has pushed for a ban on tasers. in march, the district attorney decided not to file charges against five deputies investigated in connection with his death. the public outcry over the incident lead the sheriff's department to revise it's taser sacramento. now police are thanking them for that work. >> yeah. they heard about the missing woman on monday. so they set out looking for the woman and found her a few blocks from her home. >> we all saw this woman walking around. we said guys that's her. that has to be her and the cops came but we were the first ones

that found her. >> so the police department is hoping the kids are, if they're looking for a job they should be detectives because they have the key there. the fact that they were able to just get out and go and find her. >> that's really good because it's not good for little people to be out. coming up james franco is facing a sexual assault lawsuit from two women. >> first happening, now secretary of state mike pompeo has plans to visit greece. he will likely discuss security issues we'll be right back after the break.

two actresses are now suing him and the acting school he founded. they claim franco intimidated his students into sexual situations. both women attended franco's school. he has not yet commented on the lawsuit. however he has previously called similar accusations inaccurate. >> 4:56 and remember when the raiders suddenly traded defensive star khalil mack to the bears? it may be hard to forget. >> the raiders takemack and the bears across the pond in england. they traded mack before the season started last season. so a win this sunday would make
