mike, you're tracking an earlier crash from this morning. >> that's right it's a hit-and-run crash up to oakland. the live shot first as we look past the coliseum. traffic flowing smoothly. the last ten minutes i saw a few sets of flashing lights making their way past 66, with a crash over at the 29th off-ramp there and the attenuator yellow barrels where the roadway splits from the off-ramp those were hit, a hit-and-run crash at the scene. we got the update from the friends at chp, the lanes are open. folks are slowing for flashing lights and activity but no lanes are closed. that's it through oakland. we have a new crash on the peninsula and one off-ramp is closed. we'll check that coming up, back to you. >> thanks:mike. a live look at capitol hill, less than two hours from now, public hearings are set to resume in the house impeachment probe. we'll take you there live when it happens. >> president trump last night did not back away from the topic at a rally in louisiana. >> impeachment to me is a dirty word. it's been very unfair, very hard

on my family. me, it's crazy. >> the president also accused democrats of ripping the country apart, leading democrats are referring to trump's perfect phone call to ukraine's president as bribery. it comes after bill taylor testified wednesday and staff members overheard a phone call between president trump and gord gordon sondland. leading democrats are branding the accusation as bribery and impeachable offense. republicans say nothing but holes. >> the devastating testimony corroborated evidence of brib bribery. >> there's nothing compelling or overwhelming. >> as for today, marie yovanovitch will testify, the ousted ambassador to ukraine who earlier testified she felt threatened by president trump's

comments and believed she was the target of a smear campaign by trump's allies. again, nbc bay area plans to carry today's hearings from the start, which may be as soon as 6:00 this morning. our scott mcgrew will be breaking things down during his checks and balances segment at 5:45. the 16-year-old boy who started firing on classmates at a southern california high school remains in grave condition this morning. two students are dead, two of three students injured are still in the hospital. that shooter turned the gun on himself. >> hundreds gathered to mourn last night at a church near the school. the near will be closed today. "today in the bay's" ian cull has a look at the rampage, that lasted less than 20 seconds. >> reporter: the shooting started just after 7:2030-a.m. at saugus high school. >> i thought i was going to die the minute i knew they were

download our mobile app for updates on your phone or tablet. now decision 2020, democratic presidential contender bernie sanders visits oakland today, where the nation's largest nurse's union, national nurses united, will endorse him. sanders will attend rallies today and tomorrow in fresno and los angeles. today's event in oakland is scheduled to get under way at 1:30 p.m. an update on that big break in the deadly halloween party shooting in orinda. authorities yesterday revealed five arrestscounties. vallejo is st of four suspects charged to being an assessry to the crime. the family of one of the victims omar taylor, jr., was laid to rest. he was deejaying. two weeks after the shooting, people are still rattled. >> shooting where multiple people are killed and people are injured, it's really a terrible, terrible event. it's been very terrible for the immediate neighbors of course

and also for the wider community. >> this is cell phone video from marin city yesterday, showing s.w.a.t. teams serving the search warrant. two suspects live there. investigators also announced yesterday two of the victims were armed and that may have played a role in the mayhem. long time football fans this morning saying ugly doesn't even begin to describe what happened on the field at the end of last night's football game between the browns and the steelers. away from the field, this probably would be batly. the browns mylz xwar receipt gets in a fight with steelers quarterback mason rudolph. garrett manages to tear off rudolph's helmet there and then he struck his head with it. suspensions are a given. the request is he for who and how long? soseason. others willmelee. years from now, no one will remember the score but the browns won the game, 21-7. if your commute takes you

good morning. i'm rahel solomon at cnbc headquarters and here are today's top business headlines. wall street is set to open higher on optimism over a possible u.s./china trade deal. white house economic adviser larry kudlow said talks are constructive and a deal is near although president trump isn't quite ready to sign off. stocks ending little changed though the s&p 500 managed to close out another record high s prices and industrial production. the anti-trust probe against google is reportedly being

expanded to include the company's android software. sources tell cnbc the investigation by several dozen state attorneys general is already focusing on google's search and digital advertising business. google has said it is cooperating and similar investigations in the past have not resulted in any charges. last year google was fined nearly $5 billion by european regul regulators. and just in time for the holidays, target's same-day shipping service is available on the retailer's app. the service does not require a membership but does cost $10 per delivery unless you pay $99 a year for unlimited deliveries on orders of $35 or more. to win new customers over, target is offering free same-day shipping between november 17th and 26th. it will ship all online orders of $75 or more back to you.

outdoor rink opens tonight in san ramon's bishop rank, named after olympic gold medalist kristie yamaguchi. she'll be there for the ribbon cutting and some of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the always dream foundation which helps fight illiteracy. >> to be able to do something and you know, leave behind a positive footprint somewhere along the line. >> the event kicks off today at 5:00 and that rink opens through january 5th. you may remember her name of the top other bay area rinks including one in downtown san jose on south market street. that rink opens today but she and our own mike inouye will be there for monday's grand opening ceremony, monday at 6:00. >> pull that up. why aren't you on skates in that picture? >> they wanted to show me fully

reaching 65 degrees. low 60s in the mission district and in the we're in the upper 60s in napa today, and as we take a live look outside in san jose, all nice and clear, but it's still also very cool to start out. so grab your jacket, the rest of the day you'll be comfortable with papts, maybe short sleeves. i wanted to show you the system moving in, something that showed up early on the computer models and dried up, but we are still seeing some spotty sprinkles along the coast and so you're going to see that as you head out this morning but it will dry up before it moves into the rest of the bay area. there is another storm system farther out there that will potentially impact our weather next week. as it starts to move in we'll see some cooler temperangs in some sierra rain and some rain for southern california. looks like for us in the bay area it still stays dry, going into next week. our seven-day forecast shows

that we'll be in the lower 60s heading into today in some parts of the south bay, upper 60s inland and we're going to see some mid-70s in time for the weekend forecast, and early next week, but cooling down by next tuesday and wednesday. mike, you're still tracking that traffic alert on the peninsula. >> i am, kari. this is not it.spit all the bra this is for the construction crew to start moving off of the overnight roadwork, this is willow and goes up to marsh. folks, in cases like this, waze could route you around it but i would just stick to the freeway because the traffic bunches up here and then it just gets going a little farther north, about a block and a half as far as if it was on city streets on highway 101. shows up there. the traffic alert, look at the green around the bay, we're going to zoom you in right here to 101 northbound and as you are exiting at redwood shores you will not be exiting at redwood shores. keep on going, they'll move youe blocking the off-ramp. what you can do is if it is still closed when you get there,

take ralston and a development at redwood shores for businesses and take city streets. crash oakland 29th on the shoulder and no problems at the bay bridge toll plaza. back to you. >> thanks, mike. developing for you right now, police are searching for the gunman who shot and killed a man steps from concord elementary school. authorities yesterday revealed details on that shooting, which happened at 5:00 p.m. wednesday along robin lane, near cambridge elementary school. investigators say the shooting followed an argument between the shooter and the victim, as the shooter drove off. they don't know yet if the two knew each other. later, some south bay high schools are talking about what they fooer is a recent spike in on campus gang activity. east side union high district is among them. the video shows a fight last week at yerba buena high school. they believe it involved rival gang members. the gang task force is weighing in. >> it's typical rivalries that
