traffic is building where there is a crash. but it is on the on-ramp. not on highway 101, but getting there might be a complicated issue for a few minutes. we'll let you know if they had to close it. i don't think so. but a smooth drive for the rest of the silicon valley. a mild build for heyward and into union city for 880 southbound. trip c typical trending direction. and what was the monday through thursday pattern was the bay bridge toll plaza.he meert erg lights there. and that is a little unusual. and in the south bay, a police standoff is unfolding right now. >> and some neighbors had to spend the night on the streets out of their homes. and kris sanchez is live in south san jose close to oak grove high school with the latest. >> reporter: police finally gave
6:03 am
us new information within the last half hour. and i want to get right to that. let's take a look here, they confirm that the investigators are processing the scene. so we might infer from that and given the fact that the police presence here is smaller, that the standoff itself is now over. that is just an inference on our part though. the public information officer told us that officers served a search warrant in the area and classes at oak grove are in session today. evening activities last night were canceled because of the shelt ter i shelter in place. and it started with what neighbors say sounded like two explosions. so homes were evacuated and neighbors heard them calling for the man to come out for the sank of h sake of his family. and a woman claiming to be his wife says this is a probation issue gone wrong and that her husband wasn't going to hurt anybody. >> i think this is ridiculous and if they really wanted him to

come out, if he is in there, all they have to do is ask me to go get him. but they don't want me to go in there. i could stop all of it in five seconds. >> reporter: police generally don't let people go into a situation where there is somebody barricaded. and as police were negotiating with the man they thought was inside, there was a helicopter, armored personnel carrier and we did see officers in body armor. and we want to make clear that we did not give away any tax call information out of concern that the suspect could be watching the news for information on their position. this is not far from oak grove high school where three days ago an explosive device was found in a student parking lot. at this point police are still not saying whether that device has anything to do with the explosions that neighbors heerd h here last night. but the classes are in session today.
6:05 am

6:20 am
could see low elevation snow anywhere from about 6 to 12 inches. but the main issue, does it track farther inland which would reduce the amount of rain and sierra snow. we'll still see dry conditions throughout the weekend and it will warm up a few degrees saturday and sunday. but then the low grop drops in tuesday and wednesday. and we'll have scattered showers throughout the week of thanksgiving. you about once againb but once again, the issue is how much rain will we see. so a big drop in temperatures, check that out, we have a nice warm sunny weekend, we go from 70 on monday to 58 and showers on tuesday. and it looks like it will be a chilly thanksgiving ahead. and this is friday before thanksgiving. so we see a lot of travelers heading to the airport today and

6:51 am
he 6 60s and sunshine. the high in concord will reach 68. and napa up to 67. san francisco reaching 60. as you check out that seven day forecast, you will notice a big dropoff in temperatures. and this is the reason why. we are going to see this storm system right now over alaska dipping down into the bay area by early next week. it will drag down some cold air and our rain chances will finally go up. so we will see our rain chances beginning on tuesday. along with some gusty winds. right now, we're looking at about a 10th to maybenybe an inf rain. and for the sierra, we will see low elevation snow down to 2,000 to 3,000 feet. and we could see up to a foot of snow with this system. the main issue right now is where does that area of low pressure track. and if it is farther inland, that means less rain and snow. if it is closer to the coast, it
6:52 am
could bring in our chances of rain a little bit heavier. so still looking at a dry and warm weekend, but once the low comes in, this could change some of your thanksgiving travel plans with some off and on rain, much cooler temperatures, and it looks to continue even into next friday. so we'll see still a beautiful warm weekend, low 70s for saturday and sunday inland. and then we go from 70 on monday to 58 and showers on tuesday. we'll keep you up-to-date with that. and if you are heading out of town this weekend or even around town, i want you to take waze with you. it is a free app and our partners. and right now traffic incidents are light. we are talking about slowing north 85 at campbell. one of our waze team reported that. and you see 87 and look at that, 280 just bogging down right around 880.
6:53 am
and as you come across any unusual slowing, they can help you route around it. and we'll get you out to the rest of the traffic system to show you that there is most lie green around the bay. a couple smaller stints. out of brentwood, almost half an hour as you come to the narrowing down to one lane down to about 15 miles per hour. highway 4 has a build there. same thing in berkeley. slowing toward the richmond bridge. and remember this, the morning commute will be lighter. and especially the afternoon getaway, interstate 80 heading toward the sierra. sydney is grappling with
