rosa. 27 degrees right now. napa 28. concord 36. and san jose right now is at 40 degrees. look at san francisco 42 degrees. so we're still expecting to see the chance of scattered showers but there is a frost and freeze alert in effect through 9:00 a.m. don't forget the three ps, who protect your pets, plants, or do a covering over the plants that are outside, and protect the pipes. the freeze warning areas are dipping down into the 20s but by 9:00 a.m. we'll warm up a bit. for now really cold out there. that came into effect at 10:00 p.m. last night, and we're going to see those kind of scattered showers through the afternoon, and now let's get a check of how the traffic is doing. nice view there palo alto. i think that we're going to enjoy another holiday light traffic commute this morning as a lot of people are probably sleeping after a thanks giving dinner. joining us this morning and you have to get to work you don't have to worry about the commute because our speed sensors are

green. i haven't seen any major deif you're worried about the grapevine headed down to southern california they have closed and reopened several times last night. looks like one side may be reopened and palmdale reopened along 14 where it was snowing with the impressive snow video. for now, we have clear conditions and hopefully it stays that way. if you are travelingsocal , check the conditions out before you go. five people were taken into custody with a gunshot happened late last night at target on fremont billion-dolla and mowery avenue. police have not said much besides that custody update. at least one shot fired, nobody hurt. again five people arrested.

now being connected to the shooting the five people arrested for robbery as well. we're trying to get more information and we will bring it to you the moment we do. investigators are looking at another case of something being thrown or shot at somebody in monterey county. this latest incident happened just before 8:00 last night on eastbound 156. a family was headed towarded san miguel canyon when something hit their car and shattered the glass, which fell onto a man inside the car and cut his arm. here is what one of the passengers told us. >> it was kind of like a balloon popping. it was more disorienting than anything but i guess it's lucky that nothing bad happened. >> yes. >> but i mean, something bad could happen. >> another attack happened monday when a van carrying a family was hit. right now, there is a $4,000

good morning. i'm rahel solomon at cnbc headquarters and here are today's top business headlines. wall street could open in the red this morning. lingering concerns about u.s./china trade and weak economic data out of japan are hanging over the markets. stocks coming off a positive day on wednesday with the dow, nasdaq and s&p 500 closing at new record highs for the 11th time this month. they're all on pace for their best month since june. a quick note a half trading day. the stock market closes at 1:00 p.m. the malls and stores could be busy. no data from retail me not shows 85% of consumers plan to shop at some point black friday through monday and plan to spend an average of $738. small electronics top this year's shopping list followed by clothing and shoes. and if you were trying share photos of your thanks giving feast or your family you may havad issues

47 is warm when you look at 27. we are under a frost and freeze alert through 9:00 a.m. a couple of freeze warnings mainly up through santa rosa, san rafael and the napa area so protect those three ps, pets, your plants and those pipes. so for any plants that you can't bring indoors, you have that protective covering over it. my dad used to do that all the time for the big plants in the backyard like his guava tree. satellite radar we have a few scattered showers but if you notice a lot of the rain off to the east, just south of us near. if i zoom closer to us, san francisco not seeing any rain. san jose looking dry but we have a little bit of instability just off the coast, and that's going to bring the chance of seeing more showers through the afternoon. so what can we expect for today? only climbing into the 50s in san jose, 54 degrees. oakland 53. santa rosa 53. your outlook for the bay, coast and inland is a couple of

showers moving through but the weekend storm that's going to now shift, this is where we're going to turn our attention to. here is the setup so far, turning into an atmospheric river and the reason it's a winter blast is because it's another cold storm and we are expecting a windy day ahead, with light rain to start, and north to south. by saturday evening, that's the biggest impact right now into early sunday morning, with the possibility of seeing localized flooding, especially for thi t we've got through the north bay, that's going to be an area of concern. the wind gusts looking like 40 plus miles per hour for the higher elevations for the next seven days. expect to be under a microclimate weather alert. i'll send it back to you. actually sorry, i am me. i'm sending this to myself, i have to do traffic! let's look at traffic and right now we've got clear conditions. i do have some good news, i just checked on the twitter page for chp, it does looks like the grapevine has reopened since
