as we head into the workweek here? >> we are seeing gusty winds. san jose hadwin gust over 40 miles per hour. wind speeds coming down to 22 miles per hour. the wind speeds coming down, rain totals going up. areas up in the north bay, two or three or four inches plus and morgan hill. more than 2 inches of rain. many of the same area saw the same totals. morgan hill and gilroy. these bans of showers and rain have sed moving forward while the wind advisory expires over inch of rain falling. the same storm system could be impacting all the way to wednesday. we'll explain the timeline on this very slow moving storm

coming up in about 12 minutes. >> rob, we'll see you then. the rain and the wind make driving a real challenge on bay area road. roads really wet, steady rain fell along highway 17 in the south bay today making those roads slick and reducing visibility. chp works to slow drivers down. one student in loss gatos was concerned of driving conditions. >> i am a little scared. the rain has been a lot. i didn't realize how bad it is going to get. i am going to be careful. >> probably a good idea. chp and redwood city says they have been busy responding to at midnight. a warning for the folks up in sonoma county, you could experience flash floods and mud slides. it is expected to last until 4:00 tomorrow morning. this is the second time we

spotted a debris in the road way and there could be more rocks tumbling down as the rain continues. this time is along state route 128, not far from chalk hill road. mud and rocks tumbled on the highway after rain pounded this part of sonoma county. caltran workers whatted to put a call in for help. >> ha lot of these slides up an down. crews worked to remove another rock slide and this one is in geyserville. both happening on the kincade burn area. last week the river organization raised against the clock before the storm began putting up wobbling. the flooding is not a big problem as the slides.

his parents' home and sometimes sleeping in the yard but they neighbors telviolence until they heard a lot of yelling shortly before noon at the home where a 90 years old man where the 85 years old wife lived for years. their son is still screaming and possibly on. >> i saw at the front door wheeling what looked like a weapon. >> other neighbors told us that the elderly couple was badly beaten and both covered in e co their son was on drugs and acting strange. they warned he had a knife and >> our officers went inside and they located the son, straddling his mother while holding a knife. >> two officers fired their

drunk when he crashed. the impact was so hard that the tailgate of the nissan broke off and hit the guard rail. the driver were killed in the crash. three people in the dodger were also hurt. officers arrested him at the scene. a beautiful sight and sound to honor the victims at the gho ghostship fire. tomorrow marks the third anniversary of the tragic fire that killed 36 people in oakland. the valley held a concert going today, family and friends packed the united methodist church. spiritual leaders spoke about the loss. >> it is not just a remembrance but a celebration in these young folks' lives. 36 lives cut short some situations.

that plays out throughout the year with the storms that come on in. it is not even a quarter inch of rain in san jose. that's the rain shadow compares for the day. out towards concord and san francisco, big numbers though, 4 4.5 inches plus. you can see santa cruz half a foot of rain in the santa cruz mountains and morgan hill down to gilroy, 2 to 3 inches of rain. san jose, not much rain, we had a lot of wind this weekend. still 22 miles per hour, light rain at times. san francisco, currently it is warmer out there. 55 degrees. we had highs cooler than that. late last week. tomorrow morning, just like what we have been seeing today. pe through. you are go i think to keep the umbrella on standby at least all

the way through wednesday, more showers in the forecast. storm ranger picking up the rain as that moisture rises up just like what you saw on the map on the west slope of santa cruz. showers into parts of the east bay. the storm really is not going anywhere for the next two or three days. we are seeing the heaviest rain coming in for the morning commute through 7:00 a.m. rain showers will taper off some what as we head through the afternoon. still rain passing by. time is not quite as widespread or intense. rainfall projections heading towards tomorrow morning. another inch of rain by 9:00 tomorrow morning, we are not seeing a whole lot. watch how the storm puts the brakes on and does not go thursday looks like a break, keep a close eye on the friday's
