the two have a close relationship, but it's potentially not unusual when you consider what's playing out here right now in the uk, an active campaign, general election just days away. that election not only deciding the fate of boris johnson's political future but also brexit swings in the balance, and president trump is seen as unpopular here in the united kingdom. so not only are they not meeting, but i think it's safe to say that the government is holding its breath as well for president trump to leave the uk. he's known to make -- or to like to make a splash during these kinds of visits. president trump is meeting with the canadian prime minister, he's also having tea with prince charles and camilla before attending a nato reception for leaders here at buckingham palace. they're going to be celebrating 70 years of an alliance which is seen as really critical for

european and u.s. security but there's plenty of differences, plenty of tension behind the scenes in the days leading up to the summit, french president, emmanuel macron declaring the alliance, quote, brain dead. something that did not play well with his german counterparts. >> strong words. thank you. while in the uk no doubt the president will be watching the critical new phase in the impeachment inquiry that begins today as the house judiciary committee takes the reigns. members of the intelligence committee will turn over their base. during an interview, chairman adam schiff hinted it would focus on more than the ukraine scandal. >> the evidence of ukraine is overwhelming but the evidence on obstruction of congress is also overwhelming, there's never a president that obstructed the

lightfoot accused johnson about lying about an incident in october when he fell asleep behind the wheel. johnson blamed it on medication but lightfoot said he admitted to drinking that night. a 35-year-old man is in custody this morning after he allegedly took dallas police on a dangerous, high speed chase. authorities say it began when officers tried to stop the driver and he refused to pull over. can't help but look at that mug shot with that wink. that's when officers say perkins started to drive at high speeds, crossing into oncoming traffic. after about 45 minutes police arrested perkins, but then the police car transporting him was rear ended by another driver. he was taken to the hospital. prince andrew's accuser is speaking out for the first time
