and incapable, in my view, of world leadership if we give donald trump four more years, we'll have a great deal of difficulty of ever being able to recover america's standing in the world in our capacity to bring nations together. >> president trump has not yet responded to the new ad. nearly 700,000 people in this country are on the verge of losing food stamps the trump administration finalized a rule enforcing work requirements for adults who don't have children. the new rule requiring 20 hours of work a week was denounced by anti-poverty groups and is set to take effect april 1st. yet another shake-up at the catholic church. of the buffalo diocese has stepped down according to the vatican. this comes just two years before his mandatory retirement, age of 75 malone had been facing public outcry over accusations that he protected priests who abused children in a letter, malone says that he retired early, quote, freely and voluntarily. the buffalo diocese faces more

than 200 child sex abuse lawsuits including federal and state investigations the current bishop of albany has been temporarily appointed to run the diocese of buffalo. turning now to breaking news out of hawaii. officials confirming overnight that two civilian shipyard workers at pearl harbor were killed and another was wounded the gunman fatally shot himself. military officials have not determined a mote five the attack and they have not released the names of the victims or the suspect they did say that the wounded civilian is in stable condition. the lockdown of the base has been lifted and the incident remains under investigation. now to a case that made headlines across the country george zimmerman is suing the parents of trayvon martin and others for $100 million. he's claiming that police and prosecutors conspired to fabricate a narrative against him. zimmerman was acquitted in 2013 of homicide charges in the shooting death of unarmed black teenager trayvon martin. the ruling sparked nationwide

protests kerry sanders has those details. >> reporter: 17-year-old trayvon martin's death launched moveme. >> when wa it? >> now. >> reporter: charged with second-degree murder in the teenager's 2012 shooting death was george zimmerman, an armed volunteer on neighborhood watch. zimmerman called 911 and said martin seemed suspicious and followed the teen as he walked home through his central florida neighborhood. >> are you following him >> yeah. >> okay, we don't need you to do that. >> reporter: zimmerman claimed self-defense and in 2013 a jury acquitted zimmerman on all charges. the key witness for the prosecution was rachel jeantel, trayvon martin's girlfriend. in the defamation suit filed, zimmerman claims rachel jeantel was an imposter and fake witness who provided false statements to incriminate zimmerman. and in a new film producer joel

>> reporter: new concerns over hair dyes and chemical straighteners. a study of almost 50,000 women found an increased 9% risk of breast cancer for those who use permanent hair die and 18% for those who use straightenered as well as for african-american women who had a 45% increased risk if they use permanent dye >> it's possible that the products marketed to black women based on their hair texture and type might be different than the products marketed toward white women. >> reporter: the research can't say dyes and straighteners cause cancer but experts say the more than 5,000 chemicals in hair products could be one factor. >> some of them, which we call disrupters, can actually enter into the blood stream and go to the best tissue, damage dna and thereby increase the risk of cancer. >> reporter: the study's authors caution more research is needed, and say it's not time to stop using dyes and straighteners
