million people, stretching almost 2,000 miles from the southwest all the way to boston. this system is going to be bringing a lot of mixed weather. winter storm impacts with this system, we've got icing, sleet, freezing rain, upwards of a quarter of an inch of ice which will cause havoc on the roads and bridges, minor tree damage possible, power line as well winter storm impacts, snowfall rates, 1 to 2 inches per hour through the ohio river valley. look for rapid accumulations on the roads, and tomorrow it moves into the northeast and new england with big problems. airport delays today stretching all the way from new orleans to houston, pittsburgh and back into philadelphia and d.c. tomorrow even more extensive delays stretching from new england with boston, new york, washington, cleveland all the way down to atlanta. so this is going to be a really difficult next 48 hours, craig. >> we'll check with you in a few minutes. now to the historic week in washington, for the third time, the full house is expected to vote on the impeachment of a

president. overnight, democrats released a new report detailing their case against president trump. nbc's white house correspondent kristen welker starts us off kristen, good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning to you. it is a momentous week in washington and just days democrats are all but certain to impeach president trump when they hold an expected vote wednesday. president trump remains defiant again this weekend calling impeachment a witch hunt and a hoax, and this morning, the partisan battles are at a fever pitch. overnight, democrats making their closing argument for impeaching president trump in a new 658-page report released just hours ago. house judiciary committee chairman jerry nadler concluding the president has quote realized the framers worst nightmare by abusing his power in seeking the help of a foreign government to dig up dirt on his political rivals and even accusing him of bribery. nadler also highlighting the two articles of impeachment against the president. abuse of power and obstruction of congress. >> we cannot take the risk that the next election will be corrupted through foreign

interference solicited by the president. >> chuck schumer laying out a plan for what he considers a fair trial if impeachment does occur, calling on issuing more subpoenas and days of new witness testimony including that of acting chief of staff mick mulvaney and former national security adviser john bolton majority leader mitch mcconnell's office responding the two would discuss the contours of a trial soon democrats accusing senate republicans of failing to be impartial jurors after mcconnell said last week he is working in total coordination with the white house. >> it's a complete subversion of the constitutional scheme. >> reporter: even though senators will take an oath to do impartial justice president trump's allies are defending him. >> i have clearly made up my mind i am not trying to hide the fact i have disdain for the accusations and process. >> we're going to hear the evidence repeated. we're not going to see any new evidence. >> reporter: with the republican led senate likely to acquit the president, house intelligence committee chairman adam schiff

the weekend. what more do we know about that? >> reporter: that's right, craig, and it could be significant. top officials here have announced that the u.s. and china have agreed to the first phase of a trade agreement with china, after a trade war that has stretched on now for 18 months china has agreed to buy billions of dollars in agricultural purchases in the u.s. according to officials here, and in return president trump has agreed to the to impose punishing new tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect yesterday now, the goal is to have this all signed and sealed and delivered by january if that happens, it could add even more fuel to the economy and president trump will undoubtedly tout the deal as a campaign promise kept, craig. >> kristen welker at the white house, thank you the trump administration is also expected to announce this week the withdrawal of about 4,000 troops from afghanistan. that's according to three current and former u.s. officials. that will leave somewhere

between 8,009,000 troops in the country. the news comes in amidst on again, off again peace talks between the united states and the taliban. there's no word on when the draw down would start but officials did characterize it as a phase withdrawal that would happen over a few months. now to new developments in the stabbing death of a new york city college student a candlelight vigil to remember the life of 18-year-old tessa majors was held last night, as police move forward with their investigation. nbc's kathy park joins us with details. hey, kathy, good morning. >> reporter: hoda, good morning to you, the memorial here for tessa majors is growing every day. security has been heightened here at morningside park ever since the deadly attack. meanwhile officials continue to search for additional suspects >> to the parents and family of this young woman, tess, my heart breaks for you. >> reporter: overnight, an emotional vigil here in new york city, students, community members, and local leaders remembering 18-year-old barnard college freshman, tessa majors she was fatally stabbed last week in an upper manhattan park near campus in what authorities say was a robbery gone wrong >> she was a fighter in the best sense of the word, she fought to live, climbing up the stairs toward the security booth, even

good monday morning. right now at 7:56, we take a live look outside in san jose, and we start out with clear skies, but also very chilly temperatures. bundle up as you head out the door. we'll make it into the mid to upper 50s going into the rest of the day, with some mostly sunny skies, and then as we go into the day tomorrow, we'll start to see some clouds moving in. our hour-by-hour outlook shows all clear conditions today, tomorrow, clouds moving in, ahead of our next chance of rain, and we'll start to see some of the showers late tomorrow night, into early wednesday morning, we'll wake up wednesday, walk out the door to some wet roads once again. we're looking at the possibility of getting about a quarter to a half inch of rain throughout the day on wednesday. thursday and friday, we dry out but there will be forecast, with our inland temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s, and san francisco stays in the 50s all throughout the week. once again that rain coming back to the bay area on wednesday.

'90s. >> we do. >> they've give you a lot of energy they laugh that's your test audience. they're right there. >> there's an episode, we're having a fight, and it's one of the few times, the audience went with her, he made a good point you could feel it back and
