emotions. >> to get this going we need 4,000. it sounded so believable, hook, phone line, and zingsinker. they said go to macy's and get gift cards and he did three times in one day and he didn't suspect a thing. >> it is just undecrease describable. >> i don't know how you can ring up $4,000 in gift cards from someone in their 80s and not have it raise any flags. she learned that her grandfather

is not alone. an 88-year-old father was convinced his grandson was arrested. they needed $3,000 in best buy gift cards. >> no one talked to him and they let him spend the money. >> they raked in at least $41 million last year. and the number of victims that paid with gift cards jumped 270%. lisa says that stores should warn shoppers. >> for sure, council people. >> some stores do, target says they posted scam warnings at their gift card racks. cvs says you can't buy a gift card unless you acknowledge a scam advisory. >> i think macy's needs to be more aware of it. >> did anyone warn you that what you were doing might be part of a scam.

>> they did not. >> do you think they should have? >> absolutely. >> we have not received a response. the retail gift card policies. they believe the recommendations should be mandatory. >> it is a no brainer. best buy says they will limit people to $2,000 per day. we asked best buy about lisa's complaints and she did not respond. jenni and max remain frustrated with macy's. >> they could have said stop, immediately call the store that

named and the names of 14 officers came up again and again and again in a department of 100 officers. >> 59 cases, 57 of them include one of the 14 fames. the number of incidents range from three at the bottom of the list to nine different ze incidents. >> why does your name come up so much? >> i worked a very part of town for a long time. some people say he was a bad cob, were you a bad cop? >> no, i think you can look at my work ethic and productivity. >> he says his peaceful outcomes far outnumbered the violent ones. >> you were involved in three

fatal shootings? >> yes. >>. >> what it was like to kill someone? >> it you ever misuse force as a police officer? >> no. >> if you don't fall into line you're going to get beat up or shop. they prosecute officers that they believe a targeted their officers over the years. >> we don't trust cops, we're not calling them. >> nicholas pitts got money paid to him without admission of any wrong doing.

now he says he has a criminal record and he lost his job as a result. >> the first time i was booked and now i'm a black man in the system. >> are there rouge officers in the department? >> one of these names that you're pointing out has been investigated and faced some action. he can't mention officers by name because of police officers bill of rights, and officers that use force are not necessarily guilty of miscon ducts. it would be enough to bring it to your attention? >> yeah, at the end of the day,

we're aware of it. >> the manager says that the buck ultimately stops with him. >> are your citizens scared of their own police officers? i think there are some, guy to neighborhood meetings, i don't hear had that from a big section of the city. that is the last thing that i really want it to work. there need to be mechanisms in place, you cannot afford to have someone that should not be a police officer be a police officer. >> we reached out to the others listed with four or more instances involving use of force

>> well we're getting some rain. >> but if you're in san jose you probably want to know what storms. there is really nothing around the south bay, but around the north bay they're seeing the rain bans coming in now from the northeast and going to the southwest. there is a look at san jose right now. you have clouds, 52 degrees, the rain in the east bay you can see it right there. the most rain now from the camera networks and we're at 51 as the rain continues to fall and you see a lot of it here on your storm ranger. all of san francisco seeing some moderate rain, more of that too an the south, but the rain kind of going off to the south and west you see around walnut creek. mainly light to at times moderate rain and san jose is kind of missing out. notice the way the rain is moving.

it is going to pull the showers off to the south and west. it is sort of parking off to the west there in southern california for monday. the most rain we're seeing now will continue to fall. by the time we go towards tomorrow morning the sky is clear and most of the week ahead is trending a lot drier than what we have seen of late. so 30s to mid 40s to start the day tomorrow, sunshine returning, breezy at times and you see here as that low moves across southern california that looks dry. the showers up here on the coast, our best chance for finding rain might have to wait for friday night and saturday. right now that particular weather system looks light. once we drop into the bay area,

it is not all that much. just the north bay and some of the tree tops, it is an icon on that even day forecast. that is our best chance of showers. we start the new year with dry conditions, temperatures trending warmer as we go towards midweek. it is the 60s, and then a 14-day forecast, january 11th. that is our first home game at levi stadium. we'll see if that dry trend will continue. outstanding. >> rob, thank you so much. the nfc west has been won, now it is off to the playoffs and the niners. more playoff news is straight ahead.
