fixing a broken window will set you back about $250 in addition to whatever the thieves take and this victim just bought his car. >> so i just bought that car like two months ago. now it is broken. >> reporter: now here is the map of all of the cities with clusters of break-ins just in the last few days sunnyvale and palo alto and the willow glen neighborhood. police did arrest two alleged car thieves, a 16 and 19-year-old found in a solen car. they are believed to be connected to the sundale area in fremond are investigating other reports and now looking at the same duo to see if they are connected to the burglaries in san jose. this week in palo alto three men were arrested along with two connection with eight car break-ins reported on monday alone.
6:48 am
palo alto police say there have been dozens over the last few weeks. and on monday i was in san jose's willow glen neighborhood reporting on a dozen smash-and-grabs that happened on a stretch of stoke street just about the length of a football field. here a neighbor told me that it happens so often to her that police advised her to leave her car unlocked to save the expense of replacing another broken window. a reminder, don't leave your valuables in your car and park in a well-let area but at the end of the day some of the folks who did that were victims again as well. in sunnyvale, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." just into the newsroom, a sweeping plan by the governor to address the state's homeless crisis. he's calling for $750 million in funding to support people facing eviction and create new temporary housing on surplus state property. he's planning to sign an executive order today ahead of friday's budget proposal. in washington, meanwhile, silicon valley congressman ro

6:51 am
and then we take it into tomorrow morning at this time where we start to see the rain moving in. it quickly makes its way across the bay area so tomorrow morning's commute is sloppy. but at least by noon we're seeing the rain chances going down. and the evening commute for tomorrow is looking much better. on friday we're dry as we start out our weekend. and with this next round of rain, we're only looking at about a tenth to a quarter inch of rain. maybe a little bit higher farther to the north in spots like ukiah where we reach a half inch of rain. for sierra snow, we'll see light snow showers throughout the weekend. from about two to eight inches of snow. it looks much better for a snow total for next week. look at our next several storm systems coming in between monday and wednesday. we could see possibly another foot to possibly two feet of snow. so some good news there. as we see some off and on showers in our forecast, once again pretty much rain every other day. so we have rain on thursday, again on saturday, and then again on monday. but we're not seeing any strong
