40s. still lingering clouds today but we're still expecting nice, warm temperatures reaching into the mid-60s for the south bay and some upper 50s for parts of the north bay and east bay. we'll be tracking this and find lights along highway 101. we see a crew, traditional area. we know we have those overnight crews, lanes blocked from time to time. traffic is flowing lightly but smoothly through the area. you'll see more slowing there. the off ramp i just passed it up, the off ramp is closed right now. chp has closed it off because police are handling that situation. if you try to get to the area over by the golf course you'll exit earlier but that would be if you're coming from the southbound side.ay

brthanks, people living in an east bay neighborhood are calling for more police patrols after a terrifying armed robbe at observing hills home. >> this was caught on a ring camera. theid clear, it is very graphic. >> reporter: here's a video posted to ring's social media site. we blurred the victim's face to protect her identity. homeowners association president says the video shows the woman was caught by surprise. >> she saw someone walking towards her, thought it was a friend of one of her neighbors, turned to walk into her unit. at which point in time the man came at her from behind, grabbed her purse, shoved her down to the ground and pulled a gun. >> reporter: in the video you can see the attacker is armed. it looks like he's about to leave after scuffling and then returns continuing to aim what

looks like a semiautomatic handgun. the video of the attack has rattled this community. pictures have been posted at the entrance to the complex. residents have been organizing a meeting with city councilmember lauren taylor and officers with the oakland police department. that happens next monday. they want to push for more patrol in the area. >> sometimes we feel we never see police up here and that's a concern. >> reporter: one neighbor says the attack is upsetting. >> the screaming is terrifying. if his intention was to get inside i hope her screaming sent him away. >> reporter: residents wonder if they need to have more security. 4:33 right now. developing on capitol hill today democrats continue their task of convincing republicans to remove president trump from office. adam schiff says that the

slightly lower this morning after following losses in asia. growing fears over the spread of the coronavirus which prompted the travel lockdown in the city of wuhan. stocks ending mostly flat and news china was taking steps to contain a possible pandemic. earnings from american airlines, southwest, intel and comcast, the parent of nbc universal. a new study shows that 52% of so-called workers plan to take on more jobs this year. these are people who work for services such as uber, door dash. when asked why, tthey need more skills. they should be up front with amazon says it has topped 55 million customers though still

expect the weekend to be the same way. we'll also throw some rain in the mix by the end of the week. let's slide that in there. a live look outside in san rafael. no fog for most of the north bay. it has been drifting by in patches so watch out for that with temperatures starting out at 42 degrees. check out livermore at 44. it is a cool start to the day. as we check out our highs, not bad at all. this is warmer than normal reaching 64 degrees. for the east bay highs reaching 59 degrees and 60 in hayward. in san mateo reaching 60 degrees. upper 50s in san francisco, also 57 in mill valley. here is a look at the wide view

of what's happening across the region. we've seen some of the showers and there will be rain starting to move into the north bay by tomorrow especially during the morning. most of the bay area will stay dry. on saturday still showers just to our north so it willloud and into saturday evening we see that rain pushing south. it doesn't look to be raining the whole weekend and not one to spoil your outdoor plans. the north bay will be higher. for the sierra light rain coming down, 2 to 6 inches. as we look at our forecast the mild weather and sun in the

forecast. once again more clouds moving in. on saturday rain late. mike, you have a good sized group leaving oakland. fastrak, your group can travel more quickly. smooth drive down the east shore freeway. we'll talk about that. predicting from ersan francisco including the b bridge toll plaza right now just over a half hour. between 6:00 and 7:00 it grows almost an hour. contra costa county will feet feed to that major crossing as well. the freeway is moving 101. your exit there southbound, northbound 101 is closed right now.

you'll know that because you'll be able to take the reroute to the golf course. there is police activity and that's why chp has closed that. looking at b.a.r.t. you can avoid the toll plaza. more will come on line and no delays out of sacramento. a reminder the tracks won't be really affected as far as we know but might get some fog out of sacramento and a clear view, a clear drive. remember, again, once you get off the bridge, the san off is activity. housing advocates are getting nervous about the fate of a measure that would increase housing density around transit centers including b.a.r.t. stations. sb-50 is sponsored by san

francisco state senator scott weiner and would allow taller buildings and cut the red tape. but to stay alive the senate says -- or the state senate has to pass it by the end of the month. first, it'll have to get through the committee phase. despite a promise to go green the majority of the shuttle buses at san jose airport still run on natural gas. nearly two years ago the airport promised to introduce an all-electric fleet. ten of the buses were introduced last may. then the airport reintroduce gas powered becauses. the city is getting ready to evaluate an expansion proposal. there is no word on whether more electric buses will be a part of that plan. another dockless scooter company is hoping to join the party in san francisco. four have operating permits but skip was originally skipped over. the "san francisco in
