of tokyo. we're starting out this morning with a few clouds rolling by. we've also seen patches of fog. in santa clara, in the upper 40s this morning. and once again very much like yesterday, a mix of sun and clouds and four our microclimate forecast mid-60s in the south bay, upper 50s to low 60s in the north bay. and we'll talk about rain chances in the weekend forecast coming up. mike is saying there is delays for the longer commute. >> we know we have some pretty long commutes. some folks coming in out of the north bay. others out of the altamont pass. so up to the traffic map, we'll see the traffic through the area. we do see green for most of the bay but out of the altamont, two spots with slowing. grant lion road and 205. there was chp activity at 205 before the merge and that cleared up and then another issue at grant lion, a minor crash or disabled vehicle and now the very much is slowed because 205 reopened for all

lanes and the merge and that is slowing down out of the altamont pass. and then you deal with the possibility of some fog here. this is the dublin interchange and you can't see the dublin grade but here but visibility on the roadways okay, kris, so don't worry. >> that sounds good. the impeachment trial of president trump continues today. this is a live look at capitol hill where it is about 7:32 in the morning. today democrats will present their case on article two of the impeachment which claims the president obstructed congress. yesterday in another hours' long session, house managers laid out the case for article one which is the abuse of power. they showed interview clips of rudy giuliani promoting investigation into joe biden and his son hunter. managers claim president trump was directing all efforts to pressure ukraine to make an athoua -- announcement of the investigation for his own

political gain. tomorrow it is the white house lawyers turn to prove their case that the president did nothing wrong. if you've been watching, you notice that the three house managers are women, that includes san jose congresswoman zoe lofgren and in "today" she talks about the first woman ever to argue an impeachment case in history. >> i didn't realize i was the first woman to speak as the manager until the next one to speaks as a manager. so i guess i've been so focused on getting the job done. >> she along with representatives val demings and silvia garcia talk about their journey on the "today" show right after "today in the bay." b.a.r.t. is looking to get away there paper but some communities could be hurt. >> pete suratos joins us from orinda with with the details there. goodrn >> reporter: good morning.

this move is inevitable by b.a.r.t. but her putting out a report to show who it could impact specifically. and that was put po-- put pogt b.a.r.t. office of civil rights surveying 400 riders and 65% identify as a minority. majority of them are fine with discontinuing paper tickets, 20% opposed it. there was also additional data showing that this paper ticket group also includes riders who don't use smartphones. now overall the report concluded that low income riders, not just people in minority groups, would be affected by the switch as well. now as far as a solution goes, b.a.r.t. plans to give out free clipper cards through community based organizations in or near the low income locations with a meaned-based plan starting in spring. b.a.r.t. is transitioning to paperless at popular locations such as embarcadero and 19th

you pave a weekend getaway. and as of right now, there is no fog. >> no delays for now. >> for now. >> it's early. >> leave now, folks. >> and look at this view. we do have fog around the bay area. and i drove there this in the tri-valley. now it is very patchy so one minute you're in the fog and the next second you're out of it. so just watch out for that. our temperatures will start out in the mid-40s and then we'll see it warming up as we go through the day. it is going to be very much like yesterday. where we don't get a lot of sunshine but the temperatures are going to feel milder. especially in the south bay. in san jose, we're reaching 64 degrees. we're up to 61 in oakland today. napa reaching 59 degrees. so not a bad day. cool start. and we're also seeing that the rain is not right now falling but there will be the chance especially in the north bay even as this next storm system approaches. now it looks pretty impressive here. but the fact is that a lot of

that rain will be shifting to the north of the bay area and by the time it gets here, a lot of the rain will dry out. so here is how it looks hour-by-hour. it does show rain in areas like santa rosa on northward as we go through the day and we're covered with some clouds. then into tomorrow, a mostly cloudy day. still rain just to our north and then it starts to make its way into the rest of the bay area. now look at the timeline. this is late saturday night into early sunday morning. most of us won't even be out there. and then throughout the day we're going to see it clearing out. and so this looks like a quick one and done rain that moves through late saturday night into early sunday morning and sunday afternoon we're getting clearing. the rain totals are also getting much lighter. looking at the computer models showing areas to the north showing trace amounts of rain, ukiah could get over a quarter inch. for the sierra, we're going to see some light snow coming down

throughout the day on sunday and then by the time it is done we could see up to seven inches of know in kirkwood, at about two inches around tahoe city and donor up to four snow. so we're unsettled with clouds moving in. off and on light showers and mild temperatures and even into next week. not a whole lot of sun but we've seen the weak storm systems come through and the pattern will not change. as we look at san francisco, a chance of some showers tomorrow evening into early sunday and we should get clearing on monday. mike, you're starting with a look at the bay area. >> and this pattern doesn't change either. it is lighter on a friday and starts to build for the cash lanes right about now. one cash lane open over here on the approach to the left. now we're looking at a shth visf fog or two here or there and just be careful. an easy drive for most of the bay, peninsula and the south bay. nice for the speed sensors. but look over here, report at

580 out of the altamont, the earlier issue on 205 and grant lion road both cleared but this has not cleared. the fog registering on our road weather index. now kari showed you how tough it is to see the dublin grade from the camera here and we see slowing for 84 which hit hard and then eased up. i think there was a dense patch of fog there as well. we turn the dublin camera the opposite direction and kari was showing you toward the dublin grade but over here we see the patch extending over 580 through livermore and into dublin. that is what you have to deal with from time to time so prepare tor that. and as a couple of minutes to take it easy getting in through the bay. we just saw a truck going backwards off the bridge as well. that is good news. that was a maintenance truck and cleared the lanes and so did the cones and ready for the morning commute but be prepared coming lunar new year starts tonight and all weekend, festivals for the chinese new year and tete which is the vietnamese
