as we head into the new week coming up in ten minutes. >> rob, thanks a lot. download our nbc bay area app, great way to track the weather and you can get breaking news and weather alerts sent right to your phone. a developing story in the south bay in east san jose neighborhood in shock after police found a woman dead inside her home. we learned of an arrest. the first reporter on the scene, marianne favro is live. >> reporter: more than 14 hours after police were called to the street. it is an active investigation. you can see here the police are behind us. they found a woman stabbed to death in a home down this street on the left, investigators believe her boyfriend killed her. around 5:30 this morning, dispatch audio received a call from 38 years old rodriguez who

have not heard from his girlfriend and he asked officers to check on her. when police arrived at the home here, they found a woman stabbed to death inside the house. >> reporter: police later arrested the 38 years old peter rodriguez on suspicion of homicide. the name of the victim has not been released. now, this road has been closed off to neighbors as well since 6:00 this morning, neighbors i talked to said they are stunned. there are no gang activities and a low crime right here. they're stunned to learn what happened to one of their neighbors. one woman we talked to said she knew the woman and believe the victim was in her 50s. she did not know much about the relationship with rodriguez. now, as far as homicides go, we saw the coroner's van arrived here. two different vehicles here from

that same home earlier that afternoon. this is san jose's third homicide this year. reporting live in san jose, marianne favro, nbc bay area news. this man is considered armed and dangerous and he's on the run possibly in the east bay. 29 years old alexander mcgee is wanted in connection of a deadly hit-and-run last week. anyone who sees him call 911. do not approach him. investigators say officers saw mcgee in a parked car attacking a woman in a passenger seat. police tried to intervene and he took off and hit and killed a 58 years old woman. >> he was accused of attacking two police officers in the mission district in san francisco. this eken san francisco's district attorney decided to withdraw charges against him. that's not sitting welthlice of.

nbc bay area sergio quintana is live. >> reporter: this is a high profile case as it all went down early in december. the suspect since had his leg amputated because he was shot several times by the arresting officers. the district attorney's office says they are not pressing charges right now because those officers are under investigation for opening fire. several videos released by the san francisco police department detailed the confrontation with the 24 years old hamilton. one of the officers opened his door and hampton runs second officer, you can see a full on fight. hampton hit officer flores and chase ham tpton for a few secon. hampton lunches towards officer

haze and he fired several times. mr. montoya is clearly not happy that the da decided not to press charges against hampton. >> my worst nightmare is coming true. that's to put all suspects' rights over the rights of citizens. part of the decision not to file charges in this case, the da's office says the officer involved are under investigation for the shooting which could create as potential problem if they testify against hampton. according to a da's spokesperson, the san francisco district attorney's office is developing a conflict like this. >> reporter: bill scott commented on this in an e-mail to all the police departments, we'll have more on that coming up on nbc bay area news at

up. what's left is clear san jose, we'll see a sunny and upper 50s to mid-60s. right now on our doppler radar, the clear bulls eye for the rain. marin county and in the san francisco, parts of the east bay, you are getting the drizzles and missing the times. cloud cover with this ban here offshore. most of the energy with this particular storm has been aimed in the pacific northwest, with the bay area concerns, we are getting the trailing edge of the storm that's across the surge tonight. >> you can see outside we got the few showers across the north. they'll watch another showers right after midnight into early tomorrow morning. you see the cloudy skies there and then by 11:00 a.m., what's left of the showers should be passing south of san jose, as we go through the afternoon, no set of clouds start to break out. that should be the time out of 10 or 20 miles per hour, clearing out our skies for a

sunny finish of the weekend. rain totals here, not that impressive enough. by january standards, you are not even seeing a quarter inch of rain. most of fallen in the north bay. the quarter inch to a third of an inch of rain at the hill tops is probably the most that we'll get out of this. 6,000 feet. four to six inches there, closer to the summit, not a real big impact. little windy at times, one more chance of showers and looks like that's going to be the north bay and some of the long range forecast starting to trend dryer for tuesday. that strong high pressure which means temperatures are climbing in the seven-day forecast and unfortunately, not a lot of rain to show for. what will you are looking at right there, a few sprinkles, heading our way on tuesday. as we go through the week, temperatures should be climbing and the rain starts to go away. san francisco, showers early in the morning, clearing skies and sunny finish for the week, we'll see about tuesday, those showers will come off the seven-day

i am a little torn but i am giving my loyalty to the 49ers. bouldin spent his three seasons with the 49ers. he was a member ofs the baltimore ravens, he beat the 49ers in super bowl xlvii. we are talking all things super bowl live beginning on monday morning. the athletic is reporting evans interviews for the astros. evans spent four seasons with the giants before being reassigned. he spent the last 20 seasons working with the giants. a's fans showing their support at fan fest.
