temperatures in a bit. let's send things over to mike. i'm concerned about a crash in the east bay. we have a few reported scattered crashes. one that's the issue is not quite cleared, the south bay peninsula and across the bay. we have a smooth drive right now. this is thursday. we should see more of a commute than yesterday. westbound is your commute direction. one more is open, your inside bore. the inner bore is open. the outer bore is closed because of a crash outside the tunnel. no major injuries but that will affect people getting into contra costa county. we also have a closure at market street. breaking news in san jose's southwest side. a verye police scene after a man was found shot. >> this morning investigators are trying to figure out why. kris sanchez joins us from the scene live with the very latest.

kris, what do you know? >> reporter: hi there, marcus and laura. i'm on southwest lee avenue is shut down. this is where police believe a man was shot perhaps in the face. the shooting was reported about 1 1. 1:20 this morning. it was a man who appeared to have been shot in the face, and now police are still looking for clues this morning. the crime scene tape is around the shopping center parking lot including a 76 station behind m store. it's a pretty broadthis will im between southwest expressway and derose way. we do not know the condi o the man reported to be shot.

in san jose, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." new details for you that morning on the former uc berkeley worker now accused of being the norcal rapist. a judge has ordered him to go to trial. he was arrested thanks to dna technology, accused of attacks in six california counties including contra costa. yesterday the judge ruled there is enough evidence to try wahler who faces life in prison if convicted. new calls for reform in san francisco admits this week's explosive corruption scandal. supervisor matt hanie is expected to demand action from the mayor's office and an independent investigation. this follows the bombshell resignation by san francisco airport commissioner linda crayton citing health issues. our sources say she is named in a public complaint tied to

elon musk says tesla will sell as many cyber trucks as the company can make. on the earnings call musk said the pickup truck is something out of a sci-fi movie set, although he didn't give details about production or a release date. he says it's better than people realize. tesla's stock is surging after the company reported better than expected earnings and raised production and sales targets. and lots of people may come down with a case of super bowl fever on monday. a survey by the workforce institute estimates 17.5 million employees will be calling out, the highest number of absences since the group started tracking in 2005. people w use preapproved time to stay home while 4.7 million will call out sick though they're really not. the survey says 2020 could be one of thege place absences. nearly 50% of employees expected to call in work, be late or distracted because of pop culture moments. >> or they're just hungover.

areas of cloud cover right now in san jose. 47 degrees. wind speeds not really a factor but we may get breezy conditions heading into the afternoon. i want to show your temperatures getting ready for work and your day. 47 degrees right now in san jose. 50 degrees in palo alto. 43 in livermore. our chillier spots in the interior valleys. 43 degrees up through napa, 46. what's the temperature change? we have the high pressure rolling in which means our temperatures are running a few degrees warmer this morning. look at concord, six degrees warmer this hour compared to st. san francisco seven degrees warmer up through napa and in oakland five degrees warmer. what will happen, it will warm our daytime highs but we'll see initial areas of some high clouds rolling through. you can see it right now on satellite radar. we're not worried about any rain making its way through because high pressure will keep us nice and dry today and in through

came back while home with her three children. >> my 9-year-old daughter is still scared. she has nightmares and wakes up in the night thinking people are breaking in and somebody is going to kidnap her. >> santa rosa police are tracking down the people responsible but no arrests have been made. a startling discovery at the border. border patrol agents say they found the longest smuggling tunnel ever on the southern border. here is what it looked like inside, only a few feet wide at the tightest point. it stretches more than three quarters of a mile from a small warehouse in tijuana. an air ventilator, even an elevator. agents have not made any arrests. a legal setback for state attorney general javier becerra. becerra has been arguing to leave it up to individual police departments when it comes to
