clues? >> reporter: at this point we now know the condition of the victim, he has life at a local the investigation out here continues. we're at leigh in san jose. this neighborhood is about a mile from delmar high school. we mention the school for location. the victim was found with a gunshot wound in the vehicle. several businesses including a 76 station with a 7-eleven, a cvs store here. so this will continue to impact flow on leigh avenue and derose way. police have not revealed a suspect description or motive. they say they don't know the circumstances of the shooting at

this point. in san jose, kris sanchez, san jose. new cases of the deadly coronavirus popping up. everyone keeping a very close eye on this story. breaking news just coming in where 6,000 passengers trapped on an italian cruiseship after a woman fell ill with a possible case of coronavirus. these are live pictures, in fact. the ship is about 34 miles off the coast of rome. it looks like they are setting up for a news conference now. we'll continue to monitor that for you and bring you any more updates. here is more information on the case itself. they will decide if the epidemic out of china is considered a global emergency. also today cdc officials will be on capitol hill to brief members

of congress. so far 170 people died and nearly 8,000 infections. all of this is wreaking havoc on the world airlines and routes. pete suratos joins us where all of this is weighing on the minds of passengers and how they will deal with it. >> reporter: we're seeing some of these major airlines reduce flights to china as this virus continues to spread and also as you can imagine demand is going down as far as flying to that region. it was a big announcement yesterday morning with delta and american saying they do plan to reduce the flights. delta reduced the flights starting next month. they plan to cut it in half from february to april. there will be some flights still going to beijing from some major cities not including any here in the bay area. now ari airlines plans to inform affected customers on a case-by-case basis when it comes to cancellations.

it is a trend with some airlines that are reducing flights to china. the coronavirus spreads, now when it comes to the local impact and berkeley is telling people to get that flu vaccine since the symptoms are similar to the coronavirus. there was an emergency landing in riverside yesterday morning, a plane from wuhan carrying 200, one american, landing at a riverside air force base. they will be monitored closely, kept in quarantine until doctors determine that they are virus we know that google has temporarily closed its china of he response from companies abroad, employees to cancel trips to

"the new york times" reports lyft will lay off about 90 employees in marketing and sales as it tries to make a profit. those are the first cuts at lyft since it went public. uber cut about 1,000 jobs after it first started trading. lyft says it's on track to higher about 1,000 people this year. and movie pass is over. you might remember it was a membership where you paid a fee and could you see all the movies you wanted to. hollywood said it would never last and they were right. a number of chains copied the idea. >> do they still do it? >> they still do program. 12 movies a month, that's three a week, right? >> i don't have time.

what do we have going on in terms of the temperatures? high pressure rolling in that's already managed to warm us up by 8 degrees in hayward. 11 degrees warmer in pacifica and concord six degrees and oakland seven degrees warmer. showcasing those clouds and that fog rolling in right now. expect to keep the clouds for the first half of the day. some areas will get a lot of sunshine. a good mix of both. gilroy, 68. the east bay, 65 for hayward. 66 in pleasanton and up to the peninsula 64 degrees in redwood city. up through the north bay a few degrees warmer almost seeing the 70s. might even get that in santa rosa. so what do we have going on the

next seven days? our warm temperatures and dry conditions for the next several days heading into tomorrow 61 degrees. by saturday a system that drops down and that will cool our temperatures off by seven to eight degrees and kick up our winds for super bowl sunday and inland areas. that's going to mean some frosty conditions for your early monday morning commute. we're talking low 30s in some spots heading into early monday morning. the average high around this time is about 57 degrees. so above normal for today and tomorrow. mike, how are the roads? >> the roads are looking pretty normal. the south bay a couple issues, west 237 slows a bit. a crash at matilda may be on the shoulder judging by how the speeds have improved holding steady there. we're concerned about this. i'm concerned about the report i hear about a wrongway driver that entered northbound 280 perhaps going the wrongway.

i'm watching for any reports between downtown san jose and bascome. with a wrongway driver you expect to hear a lot more chat fer something really is going on. the big issue is here on the peninsula where we had a disabled vehicle. a number of them caused quite a backup to form quickly here through san mateo. i think four of them now are on the right shoulder. there is a crash registered in the area but it may be just those vehicles on the shoulder, some concerned citizen. we'll give you the details. the backup is there. walnut creek and the upper east shore freeway. pretty standard. i just saw the fog start to thicken a bit coming down out of the north bay or into the north bay. flashing lights also approach at the golden gate bridge following that. back to you. thank you, mike. 6:21. coming up on "today in the bay," the widow of kobe bryant is speaking out for the first time since sunday's deadly helicopter

mood and i think raj knows why. back to you. >> interesting. okay. thanks. 6:32 right now. let's talk about the hottest ticket in the country, super bowl liv in miami, if you're lucky enough to go. >> we know one person lucky enough, raj mathai live for us in south florida. raj, what's going on with richard sherman? i know you were just teasing that earlier. >> reporter: yep, this morning we woke up to a little bit of breaking news. richard sherman saying the nfl has now drug tested him for the second straight week and he's not happy about it. let's show you what he tweeted about 90 minutes ago, richard sherman saying this. i wonder how many other players have to get blood taken before the super bowl. probably a very exclusive fraternity. now there is some history here. richard sherman was also drug tested late in the 2012 season. he failed that drug test and was facing a suspension. however, he petitioned the nfl. they overturned the test and he was free and clear. we'll see what happens with this drug test.
