chicago highway on-ramp to highway 4. yesterday the mt. diablo school district confirmed the victim joe barrett was a senior at concord high. the chp is still on the hunt for the hit-and-run driver. a suspect in a recent deadly shooting but one homeowner caught in the standoff is now stuck with a big clean-up bill. early yesterday morning on vista verde drive police at one point shot teargas canisters into the home believing that the suspect was inside. turns out they were a little bit off. the homeowner is hoping the city at least picks up his deductible. >> i just hope someone will help us because we had nothing to do with this. >> reporter: officers arrested the standoff outside of the home next door and he and another man are tied to a san jose murder case from last month. developing on capitol hill, stop the tweeting. that is the message from president trump's own attorney

for east san jose. up to 63 in antioch and oakland up to 59 degrees. half moon bay 54. and 59 in palo alto. mostly 50s in san francisco and low 60s for the north bay. so many ona reaching 60 degrees. we'll still seeing the drive weather and so much rain across parts of the pacific northwest for washington state. that's where we're seeing the rain going the past couple of months so we still have the high pressure but as we go into the weekend, it will turn a little pit more windy heading into sunday. shouldn't be like this windstorm that we've had recently but still quite breezy and partly cloudy day on sunday. and then back to the sunshine and warm weather going into next week. mike, you're tracking a crash on the san mateo bridge. >> and i don't want to alert folks. it is not on the high-rise. it is past that span. it is making landfall at

delaware. so a smooth drive on the span with the taillights going that way toward delaware so it will make landfall and it is on the shoulder. so no injuries but a smooth drive but that's the wide look. the dumbarton bridge and south bay moving smoothly. and 87 reopening after that crash at 280. the rest of the bay, it is friday so we have the green sensors and we'll see that for much of the morning and focused all week or making it in the bay and today we'll shift focus toward contra costa county and we might have a surprise for you. in the morning we see the big volume of traffic out of walnut creek heading west on this route here. highway 24 toward the maze and the bay bridge. by way of the caldecott opportunity into orinda and that is decreased by 46% from the numbers back in 2010 up to 2019. there are a couple of reasons for this significant relief in

traffic congestion. right now there are two tunnels that take you in either direction all day long but that didn't use to be the case. in 2014 a fourth tunnel was open sod now we have two bores of traffic for each direction all day long. double the lanes. that means counter commute because laura -- [ inaudible ] there only used to be one bore available and that involved a shift with the gate and with we could see crashes. and those are gone. and we have twice as much traffic available for the counter commute directions and so that is why consider the numbers have gone done. >> makes sense. >> go gale. >> always. our making it in the bay coverage continues. coming up at 5:55. scott mcgrew compares what you could get for $1.3 million here and cities across the country. it is not just e-bikes and
