game that night but their championship hopes still attainable with an all or nothing showdown on saturday. >> i was thinking, play strong, set everything aside and play for our little town that we have. >> what unfolded was a tennessee barn burner, a double overtime game, which the team narrowly pulled out by two points just days after ashlyn mcclellan carried a neighbor on her back from a collapsed home, she and her teammates did the same thing for this reeling community. >> after we won that game, it was just so much emotion, tears of excitement and joy. we hugged everybody. everybody was congratulating us. it was a good feeling. >> now, the state tournament begins this week the lady bees are one of eight teams that qualify for it. if they win their first two games, they play in the championship game this saturday. craig, savannah, hoda, this morning is the first day the

think for us to be able to come into the classroom and show them that regardless of their background, regardless of their race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, they have an opportunity to go to college they have an opportunity to be successful. >> the kappa focus on kids in schools in low income areas setting an example they hope will make a difference. >> i do a song with them, called "i can." >> i know i can be where i want to be. >> always believe in yourself, because if you know you can, you can be anything in the world that you want to be. always remember to read, read, read. >> the men sparking a love for reading that continues long after they leave the classroom. >> who here wants to take a book home with you? >> what struck me the most is how excited they are to actually take the books home with them. >> i got seven books >> it's something you don't think about. >> it shows you they need books. >> they need books. >> they don't have these books in their home.

>> soup ladies are tough we are out in the same mud, the snow, the cold weather. >> do you need some more soup? >> we're in the same conditions as all the first responders are in. >> on the front lines of disasters like hurricane sandy, the shootings in el paso and the california wildfires. >> we have had times we have to say, i have no one in your area. i have no way to get food to you, and i felt so horrible. we put so many miles on our trucks it's a challenge to make sure we get to places without having to worry. >> for 16 years, mama and her ladies have dished out more than 300,000 home made meals to military, rescue teams, and first responders. >> we have a few favorite recipes that we have to make on every deployment stroganoff, chicken pot pie. every deployment.
