and a good morning to you. a live look out in san francisco, dark and early this tuesday morning. nice to see a little bit of the clouds lingering low this morning, but what will the rest of the day shape up to be? meteorologist kari hall has the answer for us working from home. kari, i know you've been spot on with the forecasts for a long time and yesterday you delivered. it was nice and sunny. it was beautiful yesterday. i enjoyed some time outside even doing a zoom birthday party yesterday in the backyard. as we check out what's going on for us today more of the same, in fact, slightly warmer. let's head over to martinez to check out our temperature trend. it starts out very cool. we're only in the upper 40s this morning. but can see that trend in the temperatures that goes up as we go into late morning into the afternoon. eventually we'll make it into the low to mid-70s there for

today. and then as we check out all of our micro climates looking at our high temperatures for this afternoon we're up to 79 degrees in antioch today and 79 in napa. oakland reaching 75 degrees. san francisco up to 67 degrees in san jose reaching 75. so really nice and comfortable today, but we're also above normal. and so as we go into the rest of the week we'll start to see a cooling trend starting to move in by late sunday into early monday. a new storm system will arrive but it looks very weak and it will bring in a chance of some scattered showers not looking at a big storm here. as we look through the rest of the forecast we're going to see some warm temperatures for today and tomorrow up to 78, 79 degrees. and then some cooler air starts to move in as we get more of ane weekend, we're looking at some 60s for the inland areas, also

more clouds and that chance of rain coming in late in the weekend but it looks like most of the weekend will be dry and our temperatures still going up and down. as we head over to mike you've been tracking the commute. anything popping up for you this morning? scattered incidents. there is activity out there. the east bay you're still in the clear. we'll start in the south bay, folks, as we look at your map and green sensors everywhere. i give a shout out to the mountain view and sunnyvale area out of palo alto. southbound 101 as you pass through mountain view to the 85 split, a crash reported somewhere along the stretch not on the overpass, but it's nearby. we'll track that with some activity. two crashes reported but they have similar details so it's somewhere before or after that transition. we're looking at 280 with overnight resurfacing work menlo park and cupertino. in the north bay 101. there's a closure overnight.

redwood highway is an option. thank you, mike. it's 4:47 and new this morning the search is on for a drive-by shooter in contra costa county. it happened in brentwood before 10:30 last night at the intersection of balfour road near walnut boulevard. the shooter pulled up next to the victim and sprayed him with bullets. the man was able to drive home and call 911. he was then airlifted to the hospital. and in oakland the search is on for a freeway shooter. chp says the suspect hit two people in a car at around 3:30 yesterday afternoon on northbound 880 near 23rd avenue. officers believe that shooter was driving a white jeep cherokee with temporary plates. police think that shooting was targeted. the victims are said to have moderate gunshot wounds. new details and some good news to report at for an east bay law maker who contracted
